She's About To.......#29

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Aww Becky hugs honey for you and your poor bionic DH. Bonnie that is the way she has been blooming. Light color with a very pink ring on her skirt. Cannot wait to see her bloom next year when she has come age on her. Her inexperience did not bring any seed pods so far. I think she is trying to get the hang of supporting all those blooms right now. Looks like Maya might have two, we will have to wait and see.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hey I hope i m worong tonight, Bonnie has the hottie book and can see that every Tuesday noone is around. OK So Hi Beckie and Louise, what's up girls?? I have been answering mail and stuff, will be back.

BTW Weese, dinner was barbecue skirt steak with onions, salad and smashed butternut squash!

How is momma???

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Yep, wish it would rain here too. Can't remember last time it rained here. I swear there is an umbrella over this place. Of course, California is always in a drought state, just need some of that miracle water though.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

MMmm Clemen, that sounds good!! i have some butternut squash stored in the pantry from my garden. Gotta go out and pick all my green tomatoes tomorrow before they freeze on thursday night.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Samigal I take your weather any day, just not your earthquakes!

Weese, the squash was simple and delicious, a little butter, salt, pepper, and some parmesan cheese. I like to bake it in the oven, but since there was no time today since I got back from work late, it was all microwaved!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Clemen, I do a lot of searching and researching, writing things down... I'm making a Hottie NOTEBOOK, just no room left in my little journal.. I plan on getting serious about it this winter AFTER the Hottie marble caper bowling ball/gazing ball is created. But I don't think I've figured out which nites are "hot" on the hottie thread! (I always mean both women and men hotties, when I say hotties) So ready to play!!!

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi Hotties, back from camping in central Texas. Had a good time but I'm glad to be home. So much to catch up on.

I got Karen's recipe and will probably drag grandbaby Maddy out to the store to get the ingredients tomorrow. Is this recipe something that can be used on all plants anytime?

My plants left in the wading pool while we were gone did great accept for the devil's trumpet. It doesn't like wet feet. It will survive, but I have it under the carport so it doesn't get tomorrow's rain.

Miss Gargantuan my Cherub pink brug liked it in her big pail of water. But she turned toward the sun and has a slight bend in her trunk. I had been rotating her so she would grow up straight. I think she'll straighten out. No Y yet though.

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

AuntB you have d-mail.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey sweethearts! I don't know where the days have gone I've been so busy! All done though, and before I know it it will be time to pot up my rooted Brug cuttings! Anjl, hope you are feeling better soon. You sure had it bad having to be cut, most people I know have the laproscope surgery and are home the same day with virtually no pain. Bless your heart...

Donna so glad to hear you are continuing to improve! Slow and easy wins the race so be a turtle hottie for awhile, LOL! Clemmie baby girl, I've missed talking to you this week! We seem to be on at different times, and I've been falling in bed early. That squash sounds good, I've never cooked anything but yellow crookneck. Wintertime cooking is beckoning, and I LOVE to cook! I make alot of homemade breads in the winter (by hand, no machine for this girlie), braided breads, etc. Winter is so cozy! I wish we WOULD get snow here, just once....sigh...My poor 21 year old has only seen snow once in her life and the 19 year old never. We just don't get it here. Only an occasional ice storm where everything in sight is covered in crystal ice. The leafless trees are a sight to behold when iced.

Becky you sneaky thing, a GREENHOUSE!!!!!!!! Yippee!!! Good ole Lyle, that is great of him to do. I felt that way too when Jerry agreed to spend the money to turn my shed into a greehouse. The Romex electric cord alone to get electricity out there was $200.00, total project close to $300.00 so I was sure proud that he did it for me to be nice. We really couldn't afford it, but he knew how badly I wanted it and didn't complain. (for once, haha!)

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Oh boy it is getting hot here Bonnie, I guess my ears are burning now, hotties are busy or is it that we have grown quite a bit, i cannot pick up all of the new names. AUnt b is it much to ask to post the names of all hotties up there along wth the hottie mobile trip???

Way too confused here, wish I knew everyones names, i am easy, my name is it!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Jeanne!!!! I've missed you! So glad you are back and hope you had fun camping. What did baby Maddie think of it? The original Recipe was shared throughout the Brugmansia lovers on this forum and also another well known Brugmansia website to promote heavy flowering and green, big leaves for Brugs. It was developed and changed around by many people, but all used the same basic ingredients and amounts...So, I would have to say it was developed for Brugs. That being said, I do not see why you couldn't use it on any plant in the yard or house. There is nothing in it that would hurt another plant, and several things that would help any plant.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hi Karen, no news from your baby ah?

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

I missed you guys also. I wish I'd had a lap top I could have kept up. Maddie didn't go. It was just Hubby and myself and the two dogs. We had a restful time and enjoyed antiquing in the small surrounding towns.

Didn't you say something about Tex Mex a few threads ago?

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Evening all, just getting a chance to check in my phone has been ringing all night. I do feel like an old car grinding grinding away, I will get it in gear soon. The meds are wearing off and I can almost recognize the person that looks back at me in the mirror now. Bonnie I love mixing that recipe, nice and gooey. Beck glad you had time to post, sorry to hear your DH has to though so much. Clemen your dinner sounds wonderful wish you were not so far away. Humming bird nobody fessing up yet on the seeds. Pegi and Anjl I’m sending rain wishes your way. Louise that Bonnie Pink is a looker, we’ll all be wanting a piece come spring. Joyce I got a dog that loves to dig holes too but they are never where I want them. Who has that digging plant I need to get a big chunk of it. Teehee

(Marymac) Statesvi, NC(Zone 7a)

Thereglady says she sent them...I don't think it was her beacause she said she sent a box with cuutings and seed..Haven't rec'd that yet...Who knows????????/

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Sure, need to add Texasgrower-Jeanne! Clemen, deep breaths.. it's okay, we'll all handle it together... be careful what you ask for...... :) Donna, James was supposed to be the digging plant... now he's asking Becky what the name of it is, too! lol

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Clemen no....my baby girl has been missing 8 days now...I don't think I will ever see her again. I only hope she lived and was taken in by someone nice. I sure miss her. I keep looking for her when I count the dogs to go outside, inside, bathtime, etc. It will take awhile. Jeanne, yes! I was talking about Tex-Mex! I told the girls that you haven't lived until you've eaten Texas Mexican food. That you went to New York for cheesecake, Maine for lobster, and Texas for Mexican food! That's what I had for lunch today, yummy! We will have to meet some day for lunch for sure. Louise, I too love that Bonnie Pink! Hope you will remember me next year for a cutting! Loved the pictures of your baby at the agility course. We have a big one, even in our tiny town and I have often thought of taking my Maddy. She can jump 5 feet up in the air from a standing position! I thought it funny that you are a groomer and have a dog that is a shake and go, LOL! So cute, Jack Russell?

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

OOOH, I forgot to say I went craft shopping today and I have figured out what I am making for the ornament exchange....All I can say is you girls are gonna like it, hehe! I know, it's early, but I wanted to see if the supplies I wanted to buy later will be easy to find, and they were. We will officially sign up on November 1 to make our list. That will give us plenty of time. I saw lots of cute pre-made ornaments too that were very inexpensive. For those who don't really want to spend alot of time, it would be easy to buy something cheap and just personalize it a little.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL well I had a schnauzer too but he had to go and live with a friend because my MIL is allergic bad. It is ok coz he loves it there he is king of the castle and here rosie beat him up all the time. Rosie is a blue tri rat terrier, we just never got her tail docked. I plan to spread Bonny Pink all around to trial her for registration. You have to have her grown out in several different climates. Hummingbird, were you trying to dmail someone?

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Your on for Tex Mex Karen. I love the green sauce at El Toro's. But Little Mexico is good too. I did some research on the D'Longhi electric oil heater and decided to get one too. I will get mine at Lowe's also. I want to use it in the green house. Maybe get another for my sunroom when the wood stove isn't lit.

(the sun room my hubby said he'd put together but still not done. He hates doing stuff like that. So when he is in costa rica next month I'll have my SIL put it up for me. It's parts are in Sooner Country. My hubby is an Okie and his room off the carport is Sooner Country).

I love him.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I guess it got busy here while I was typing. Jeanne, glad you had a wonderful vacation, it is always good to come home we missed you. Karen I sure it feels good to be done, soon you’ll be looking for new things to plant. Clemen I have a hottie list it now has 53 names on it and I have not finished going through all the threads so I know there are some still missing. Hummingbird it sounds like you have a mystery seed sender. I’m trying to keep this short so I won’t be posting 10 post behind.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

I love tex mex girls, any good recipes???

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Anjil, hope everything is ok.
Donna, it is amazing how hard it is to go into a store. It just wears you out.
It is pouring here! I need to go check the pond because I covered it and make sure it is ok, but cold and wet is not something I do well! I must be a tropical!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Donnita cross posted, please post that list, I am so confused and lost my marbles like Aunt B! LOL

BTW are'nt you going to bed soon, hee hee

(Marymac) Statesvi, NC(Zone 7a)

Louise...Nope..responding to donna...
Karen...You'll have to fill me in about ornament exchange ...Haven't been here long

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

I don't have any Tex Mex recipes, I just eat the stuff. I bet Karen does though judging by her sweet potato pie recipe.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Karen, glad you stopped in. Louise is probably like the mechanic that never gets his own vehicle fixed.. I think her lil Rosie is a cutie, too. Last dog I had was a Newf, right after this kids' Dad passed, I inherited "Drew's" dog.. I had her "fixed" and was waiting for an inground wire barrier kit, ordered from the pet store and she got loose.. jumped the chain link and the sheriff shot her. He said he thought she was a mad dog. She was so happy to be loose, she ran and ran and had "foam" around her mouth...natural for large dogs. The kids will never forgive the guy. He sure got a piece of my mind; a crying woman on the phone telling him her kids had barely accepted the death of their father and now I had to tell them HE shot their dog..ruff year.
I'm too slow here tonight.. Clemen? is this enough chatter 4 ya?

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

hi Hummingbird. Nice to meet you. I'm sure the hotties have made you feel welcome and have already given you great growing tips.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Nope Big TM AB, I want a recipe now, het texas hottie, come on send one here your way!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Clemen if you will Dmail me I will give you several recipes that I have, I was taught by a Mexican woman. I even know how to make homemade tamales, although I seldom do. It's an all day job! Make homemade tortillas too!

Jeanne, I am sold on that heater as being the right one for our needs! It's supposed to be very energy efficient too, the very best for heating up any room. I am buying mine next week. I love the green sauce too! I have a recipe for it if you'd like ☺

(Cathy), MO

I want the one for homemade tamales Karen!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Donna, funny that's what I was doing on the old threads today.. making a list and checking it 2X (and getting side tracked a lot)... better watch out you TMer's

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh Newfs are great dogs. Kinda goofie like a lab. Big dogs drool all the time. Stupid sheriff. He must have really been afraid for his life.(said with sarcasm).

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. My Karoosh is home and OK. The vet said he had no quills in the mouth or eyes, so all is well. So I can finally relax I think.

Karen, what ornament swap? Did I miss something?
Ladies have a great night, and sleep well
Linda Kay

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Louise, I want a Bonny Pink cutting.. (since everyone is being kinda demanding.. lol) Please?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Bonnie you are first on the list of course! Can't name it after you and not give you the first one!

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

I told you Karen would have recipes. Yep, I'd love the green sauce recipe.

I will probably get my heaters next weekend too. Alicia and I are going to Canton Friday the 31st. Can hardly wait. If I spend too much then I may only be able to get one unit.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Sure thing Cat! Any of you that would like recipes just Dmail me. I compiled a cookbook last year for my daughters, so that when I pass they will have all the wonderful recipes I have saved and created over the years, and some family heirloom holiday things they would never know how to make unless I told them. I used a cookbook program and took it to Kinkos. Even had front and back laminated and laminated dividers like a church cookbook. It cost a fortune but was worth it. I used to do a bit of catering back in the day. I just love to see people enjoy my food, it is satisfying. Besides that, ever seen a fat girl that can't cook? ROTFLMAO....If you saw me you'd just know I can cook you up some pounds, LOL! I'm a country cook.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

CHA CHING! :)) Thanks Louise.. I'll treasure her. Yes, Karen maybe on the next thread, we can put the RU list aside and post something on the ornament exchange.. did we decide how we will do it?? I'm sure I very well could have missed something... I'm a turtle.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Okay Clem you asked for it, I’m sure this is NOT a complete list and probably has errors. I did not have time to edit cause TMH Clemen needed it now. Teehee.
