I think I learned to cook out of boredom.. grew up living in the country and after the worms were dug, ponds were fished, grass mowed, maters picked and weeded, flowers bouqueted up, and the wheat fields were walked... cooking was fun and you got to eat what you made... cookies and cakes and pizza and mashed potato patties mmmmmm, I love the country. I can still hear my mom singing and whistling as I watched her make meals and bake and can produce.. thanks for the memory..

Just wanted to update you all on my Dr saga :(
I called at 5pm cause I really didint want to go to ER again... so called the clinic. they have urgent care til 6pm so I got an appt with an english speaking dr (these are rare at my hmo-no offense, but I want to understand him/her) at 5:45. rushed down there to get to the appt in time, he push he prodded, he listened temp was 101.2 when I got there. Then he sent me to labs and did the labs and back to the docs... laid on that gurney in the office from 6:15 until 7:45 (I actually slept the whole time) he finally comes in and says he only got two of the 'urgent' tests back from the lab. no bladder infection, white blood count is elevated but its at the same level it was from prior to the surgery (not worse, not better) so....get this... he wants to go home, says well I can read the other results from home and call you if you need to come back in. but if the symptoms are no better or if they get worse, come in to emergency tonight! Grrrrr! I just took a $20 2 hour nap and then got sent back home :( still have a fever, still lower back ache.... still waiting on a dr to call :(

I have been lurking on the greenhouse threads! I showed Lyle pics, etc. but HE is the type of man that thinks HE might know everything..lol.. I won't complain.. not one lil bit... well maybe on the insides... IF he has to have his way on all of it!! He said the wire alone will probably cost about $400.00... yikes!!... I think I'll make sure he waits to get the wire till we have it most the way up..lol... cause I bet the wire will cost more than that!! Hey... a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do... in order to get what she wants!!...lol BUT... he asked me about a 16'x24', and I nearly swallowed my tongue cause I figured he was thinking more like a 8'x10'sooo I am in heaven..lol

I showed him the hoop house.. it would be fine with me.. but HE thinks it wouldn't last and we have a bunch of lumber he had sawed at a sawmill that we cut off our property.. soo that is the way he wants to go. Might be kinda nice.. cause IF for whatever reason.. IF I can't garden as big as I am wanting to now, I can always use it for storage, etc. like I need a place to put more JUNK...LOL WOW... why are you staying up late... not feeling well?? I have to go to w@#k here in a little bit, DH and I did get the gutters cleaned out and ready for the rain, but he tore down my MG curtain on the southside of the back porch.. *sniffle* , *sigh* , oh wells, I can grow more I guess.. I have the North side still there.. here is my salsa recipe I make from from the Garden Veges every year:
in the food processer on chop add: tomatoes to the top, diced onion about a quarter of a medium sized one, one red hot pepper ( this year I used super cayene) and one green hot pepper, sea salt, about a tablespoon, ground black pepper, about a teaspoon, sugar, about a teaspoon, paprika, about a half teaspoon, garlic powder to taste, chop until desired thickness and texture, pour into container and chill.. serve with hot tortillias, toasted corn tortilias, or taco shells..enjoy.. gotta go, have a great day!

Deb the salsa look great, love it with chips. Beck, I was working on that list when furthest I could get from the bed was the chair at the pc, but extracting data was part of my job and Excel/Microsoft office is what I used all day long. DG has an option to export to Excel so it was really only a few clicks with the mouse then a little manipulating of the data. It sounds like you are getting a super dooper GH, what a wonderful DH you have. Anjl hope you got news from the dr, I hate going to the ER when feeling awful only to have them say “yup you’re sick” and send you home. Starlight I just noticed you are not on my list yet so I will edit to add you, I have not downloaded this thread yet. Karen the cookbook sounds great even if I don’t cook much
