I love Moon Moth! I love all of your list!

I am so excited about bingo because we haven't played in so long!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I am trying! You should see my house..........good thing I live here by myself. No one else would put up with me!

Morning Susan The list is here,

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/915753/#new

I posted over on this thread so it won't fill up mrsbonnie leaf experiment ^_^

Wytheville, VA

Will has been helping me set up a stand for my streps. He is adding shelves & lights.
I am cleaning plants, arranging & generally enjoying myself. i am adding synthetic felt for capillary matting, and trying to figure out a system to organize my plants. not my strong suit.
I have 1 tray completed with matting cut to size. I went over the collection 7 found all of the starts of Falling Stars, plus all of the starts of It Makes Scents. They look so pretty together I took a picture. It makes Scents really has a nice frangrance. If you look closely, you can see the bright green felt in the left upper corner.
So much more fun than housework!

How pretty! Love the colors together.............question? Why don't you take a pair of cutting shears and trim the long leaves that are not attractive? I do that about once a week..............plus I think it encourages the plant to put on new growth in the center.

If I am out of line, just tell me................I love it when people make suggestions...............

Wytheville, VA

Good Idea! anybody need some cuttings?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

there was a Rusty something lady on another thread and Bonnie was going to send her one leaf...........you might want to check Bonnie's thread................very nice of you!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Gail - If ever I say to you again these words: "Are you still thinking of ordering leaves?" . . . you are to send someone over straight away and whack me upside my head . . .

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

We did get a little carried away..........but people will love them in the spring on DG Markplace. There is nothing better than a homegrown gessie!
By the way, I cannot you used FirstClass to send me the names of all I am getting! That was a lot of work.........on your part...........but well appreciated!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I just got done sticking the strep leaves Brenda sent, too. I think I will spring the big $$ to get another 8" ventilated dome, if that place still has any . . .

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

where did you get yours, Syrumani. I need another source other than Park Seed. I don't like them anymore. I did order 6" cheap plastic domes from Cape Cod and they should be here this week.

Here are a few in bloom.
First we have Bristol's Paw Print (which I showed once)

Bristol's Swamp Thang.....................thanks to Brenda for the leaves to paw print and this one! I love them.

Guidelines has decided to really bloom.

where did you order leaves from?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Nichole is talking about Cedar Creek Violets for av leaves. She got leaves from a DG member, too. We haven't seen Brenda lately. I just went to some of the ebay vendors and asked them if I could buy leaves (no choice) ........just a large amount and they said yes.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Lavender Profusion is having her first blooms. Wish I could remember where the leaf came from.

Shenandoah's Sweet Talk (from Nancy)

Gail - there is a little hole-in-the-wall hydroponics place here in town. I don't usually go there . . . they want $5 for a standard size clear dome, and $2.50 for the black trays . . . but I did get the 8" ventilated dome there for $8. I'll call them tomorrow at work, and see if they have any, and how much they are now.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Someone else found those sturdy 8 inch domes..........I would like about 3 of them and I will pay pal you if you find them............thanks so much! I am in no hurry but I never have too many domes.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Pretty streps Gail!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I'll take a pic of the one I do have, Gail . . . they also had one that was more . . . pretty, I guess would be the word . . . but it was a little bit more.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Hello, Jannich! My streps have not wanted to bloom but just in the last week, I am seeing buds everywhere so maybe they will bloom afterall................I really don't know why they quit except that I was really feeding them a lot of nitrogen during their big growing period from birth to adulthood! (LOL)

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I can't get a good pic of it . . . but here is a link to a website that shows it pretty good. You'll need to scroll down about 2/3 of the page to the Mondi Ventilated Heavy-Duty Humidity Dome. http://homeharvest.com/propagationflatsdomesinserts.htm

I'm pretty sure it was $8 I paid for it in January, but like I said, I'll call them tomorrow to see what they've got and their prices.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

wow..........those 6 and 8 inch humidity domes aren't too expensive but most of their prices area outrageous.........the permanest trays are 12.95 and you can buy them at Park Seed for 6.50 each..........................however..............their black flimsy trays I love so much because the domes fit are not bad at 1.49 but the 21/2" dome is ridiculous at 3.50 each........they are normally 2.49..............

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

And you know, back in January I had bought some black trays and 2" domes from the local place, and paid those prices . . . this was before I saw the sets I told you about at Lowe's, so I took everything except the 8" dome back to that store, then went up the street to Lowe's and got 3x as much for the same price.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Good! I love my Park Seed things but I am not paying 20.00 for a tray and dome anymore.

I grew about 12 kinds of sinningia speciosas from seed from The Gesneriad Society.
Here is just one tray of many......I just pinched out the centers of these

Lowes carries domes? I havent found them!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Syrmani told me that what she found were peat pellets with a black tray and dome for 3.00. So she didn't use the peat pellets but did use the tray and dome.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Yes, there were those peat pellet domes - they do come in handy. There was also the Ferry-Morse set . . . 3 trays, 3 72-count inserts, and 3 domes for $10.00.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

glad you came by to clarify that.........I love those inserts. They are just great for starting cuttings. And............you can leave an empty one and water from the bottom. I also love to start strep leaves that way with the 38 cell inserts.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I used one of those inserts this afternoon to stick peppermint in. Now I itch all over.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

where are you finding these?never heard of them, they sound nice.
mrsbonnie

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

When I wake up, I will give you some sites to order them from.........

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I just remembered Bonnie where I got the black trays and 38 or 36 insert cells. They were from Park Seed. They are so good because the strep leaves do not rot and cuttings do not rot. They also carry domes for these black trays.

Does anyone remember where the "what soil mix do you use" conversation is? I just can't seem to find it . . .
