Thanks Gail. I love looking at all these beautful blooms. It's the next best thing to having them in real life. I always imagine what you place must be like with all these beautiful blooms. I would have to check them all first thng every morning to see what was newly blooming. (After my coffee, of course).LOL Lou

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I kept an Amizade and waiting for it to bloom like yours, jannich!

Just remember that I do nothing but play with plants.........my social life is not suffering because I can't get out anyway...............I am happy...........

Gail, what wonderful blooms, just beautiful. Love that sweet sinnigia. So pretty.

I asked the club this question. No one could help. I don't remember asking you all.

This last month, never before, I have a problem with some of my AV's. They will get ONE droopy leaf. The leaf always dies. I have lost maybe one plant from it. Usually, the plants have one leaf, later, another and all is OK. I take the bad leaf off. The rest of the plant is OK!

It is making me nuts. I have had to take large leaves off and I am left with smaller plants on several.

I have not changed anything. I hope someone has an idea.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

WEll...........when I have problems, I don't do what most people do..........that is....take the time to find out exactly what the culprit is..........I just grab the avid and start spraying. Then I use either Marathon granules in each pot for mealy bugs or I drench the pots with Admire Pro. That way, unless it is a watering problem I can eliminate, I go for broke before I lose all my plants. I am positive that Marjorie feels the same way.

South, TX

She had no idea since it is just a leaf. I can't use pesticides. I know they are in the one's I buy, but I don't use extra at home. I am sensitive and I have a little parrot.

I have never read anything like this. Most of the plants are OK, even if they lost a leaf or two. So odd. This problem has not gotten worse. Just off and on, one leaf.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

If they are bottom leaves, that is natural on older plants. If they are not the bottom leaves, I suggest finding out what the culprit is.

I have falling in love with these tiny sinningias..............here is S. Razzmatazz with his first bloom in the wine glass.

For those who don't know, we are missing Cedarnest because she broke her foot last week or the week before. I miss her! I can't post if I don't have a picture so I will find one.

Sally, Do you think it could be from the petiole resting on the pot edge? Hard to tell you what's wrong without seeing the plant. Are these plants you are having trouble with larger ones? Sometimes the edge of the pot can dig in where the leaf stem rests on it. You can see that when looking under and you can see a crease. This can cause poor circulation in the leaf.

South, TX

Goldleaf, no, it is not always one of those leaves. Sometimes it is in the middle. Thank you for trying to figure it out! I have thought of that. It is not a bad problem thank goodness. Just weird. I need to get a pic. next time.

I am so sorry about Cedanest's foot!

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Gail, I love all your photos of your gorgeous plants. I can't get over the SpinArt blossom. Doesn't even look real and I know it is. Rainbow's End catches my eye as I like the netted ones and 2-tone flowers. Little pusilla is so darling. Someday I'd like to try a little micro-mini.

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Gail - I forgot to tell you on the other thread how vibrant and outstanding Copper Knob is. That color is fabulous.

Sally, my only other 'just guessing' is perhaps your soil stays too wet. That can cause leaves to go limp and die. If it's too bad, the whole plant can collapse. Past this, I can't think of anything else to add. If it happens again, take a photo.

(Zone 1)

Oh Wow! I am just loving the beautiful Strep Blooms! All are so gorgeous! I sure wish I could grow those things but will have to just ooh and aah over everyone else's lovelies cause they don't like the conditions in my house.

Cedarnest: Bless your heart ... how in the world did you break your foot? Oh, my, I'm so sorry about that happening to you and I hope you recuperate soon!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Goldleaf, I can hardly wait for all these tiny ones to reseed and fill a big portion of the wine glass so I can share with you. I think people just use a spoon and put them in the top of pill bottle caps with squeezed out spaghnum moss around them.

I need to reread the threads and see the ones you like Goldleaf as I owe you some leaves............

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I found out about Cedarnest in a dmail of her thanking me for what she bought on DG Marketplace but I haven't seen her since. She must have really broken it bad because she did say that she can't walk on it yet. (even with her cast)

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Get well soon, Cedarnest!

Hi, Lin, I'll be heading your way on bright and early Tuesday. I've decided to jump in the Fountain of Youth first thing!

Gail, Cute idea for a little pot using bottle caps. I like the look of them in a wine glass. Do you cover the top with plastic wrap?

Jan, Amizade is lovely. I know you sent me one of those and I am glad to see what it looks like.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I just use saran wrap. I could be tidy and cut it exactly to fit which is what most people do. Haven't gotten around to it yet. I only copied other people (I think Lin) with the wine glasses.

South, TX

Thanks Goldleaf. I am watching the soil. You never know, could be. Seems the whole plant would be limp, but I guess there are no rules and the violets can't read anyway!

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Sally, right! lol...do you grow a lot of violets?

Gail, how many hours a day do you run your lights?

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Morning!

I'm sorry to hear about cedarnest's foot.Hope you feel better soon Nancy.

Goldleaf your going to love Amizade. It a cutie!

Sally grows the most amazing AV's,just beautiful.Sally wheres your posting about your new plantstands? There beautiful full of plants!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Normally 12 hours a day, Goldleaf, but as winter approaches and I have both columnea and sinningias, I might go up to 13 hours a day............columneas actually need 14 hours a day to bloom, but I don't need for mine to bloom until May. I have lots of time to worry about them blooming.

I want to know what bloombooster you use, Goldleaf..........please
