Stacey,
That Spider Lady is cement, it took 5 or 6 guys to load it. But wouldn't it look cool on your front lawn? I'll have to go over to her house and take a picture of the teacup with butterfly she made using a garbage can. It is beautiful. She also made an angel. I will be going up to my mom's again this weekend so I will take pix.
۞ Sweet Interruption ۞ 40
Get those 5 hunky men to load it up for me then!!LOL Pics would be nice!!
OK-here is a link to the pics Betty posted-scroll to the bottom

Hey Janice, and Stacey, glad to hear your back home safe and sound. Tired is good, because that means you had a good time! Nice pictures of you with Betty. Frankenmouth is a wonderful place, but can get one in trouble real quick!
Cindy, thanks for the pics. Looks like you had a good trip too. Did you get any apples?
Where are mine???
Ladies, have a good day.
LK
Stacey, did you get the card?
Linda Kay
I didn't buy any apples, mom bought some Fiji and SIL bought some Asian pears. I didn't buy anything except food to fill my belly, LOL
Happy Sunday everyone. I'm passing around clothes pins :D Cookin' some black bean chilli so don't say I didn't think of you!!
When you get that salsa recipe, dmail it to me too LK, please. If you say it's good, then I must have it too.
Phyllis, we never have enough plants do we? I must try to limit myself next year, unless they are perennials. Next year, I want to increase the number of butterfly visitors here. So nice to have a couple experts here.
Cindy, that lady spider should win. I love the mischievous looking pumpkins behind her. Those guard gourds are too violent looking!! Don't know vegetables can be sinister!
Yep, I agree with Stacey, that grandson of yours will be the bane of many young girls.
You should have about a dozen Nene fairies eh Stacey? Sis truly spoils you. This year, you have a very memorable birthday. Next year, it will be at Disney, right?
Waiting to see what Betty got you.
Oooh how clever is that!!
Betty always does great art pieces doesn't she? Wonder if she mold that fairy?
I bet you all three laugh more than talk!
Niece, you deserve the bestest birthday ever!!
Stacey, looks like you had a marvelous birthday week!!!!
Hope you had fun! Hard to tell from the description? LOL
Linda Kay
You chose well! I love the fairy chimes!
So here is a rundown-it will be a small novel!!LOL
I got in about 2pm on Friday-hadn't eaten all day so went to MickyD's to grab a bite w/ mom. While I was eating she told me "that I might want to increase my spending budget for shopping"...when I asked her why, she said that the $$ LK collected from all you wonderful ladies for my Bday was large and I was getting the rest in cash-I almost spit out my Big mac when she told me how much!!
Then we went to the outlets-got the jacket and 2 of the sweaters at Dress Barn, then went to sketchers, then a kitchen store, then the bra sotre for mom which I wanted on the bench with a man waiting for his wife-we made friends and joked about the leopard bras and undies!!LOL Then we went to lane bryant( I made friends with the ladies in the dressing room next to us as they were giving me their opinions and I was giving them mine!!LOL) where I got 2 pairs of pants and 2 more tops-mom was such a bad influence-she though that pretty much everything I tried on looked good!!LOL So no help narrowing it down!!LOL...
Then we went back to the hotel-there was a line of people, and there was a little gift shop in the lobby-I was bored, so I preceeded to entertain myself-shoulda got pics-they had a frog crocheted skull cap style hat with little cute ears-so I put it on-EVERYONE was crackin up-I think it was a kida hat-stretched out to my gimmongo head size now!!LOL Then I looked and they had the NEATEST wind chimes!! And I saw the fairies and knew I HAD to have one-so I made the guy at the front counter help me decide-then it took both of us to figure out how to get it back in ti's box when I noticed the chimes were rmovable-so I asked if I could switch them out with another set;) Of course he said yes:)
We then unloaded into the room and Betty called right about then!! So she came over and we met-sooo bubbly and lively-just a giggle monster that one!! We chatted for a few mins, I showed off my goodies and my rag bag and then she and Suzanne & Rita(her frineds) went to the outlets and mom and I went for a steak dinner-it was YUMMY!! After we got back we were in our jammies chatting and then Betty called so we went to her room. We exchanged pressies-I gave her her xmas ones early-we chatted til about 11:30 pm at which time I started falling asleep sitting up!!LOL So we went back to our room after some HORRIBLE pics were taken!!LOL
I woke up on Sat about 7 and was laying in bed not wanting to get up yet when about 7:30 there was a knock at the door-it was Betty!! We decided to meet at Bonners about 9am when they opened. So mom got up, we got ready loded up our cars, checked out and went to Frankenmuth-we drove through town 1st to see where we wanted to go after Bonners, then got to Bonners about 9:20-that place is GIMONGO!!!! It would take at least a whole day to look at everything-they had an ornament for just about EVERYONE!!! They were a little pricey, but I could've gottne an ornament for you all if I'd had about $200!! About noon we left there-ran into Betty a couple times while we were there and didn't see her anymore for the rest of the day:( We went to a little set of chops that had the neatest store-it was all fairies and gnomes-I almost got a Nene THomas shirt-but I held back!!LOL By that time we were starving, so we went to eat-had the checken dinner at the BAvarian lodge which they are famous for-it was a TON of food!! It was like $15 a plate and you started with Bread-reg and a fruit/nut german bread, then you got a cup of soup, some coleslaw, a chicken pasta salad, some bread and butter pcikels and a cranberry/orange relish. Then you got your plate with chicken mashed taters and gravy, dressing, homemade butter noodles and squash.....then you got a little dish of ice cream!!!! I was soooooo full I thought I would burst!! I got a little Bday cake too-soooo cute!!
Then we went to shops under the restaurant (which by the way is 3 floors with 5 different dining rooms and HUGE!!!) and we tasted some wines-I got 1 bottle and the girl gave em her employee discount since it was my Bday!! Then mom went to sit in the car while I wnet to some shops on main street....went back to the hotel, and parted ways...I stopped at a friends house about 30 mins S of Frankenmuth for about an hour-she gave me the frog and a couple heuchera splits for my Bday:) Got home about 8:15, unloaded the car and found the fairy from DH and opened my other pressies:)
I think that is about it-said it would be a small novel!!LOL
Staceypoo, that was a wonderful memorable birthday for sure! Thank you for recapping your exciting trip to Frankenmuth with Janice, Betty and the other ladies. Happy Happy Birhtday again, Staceypoo!
Well, my intention today was to stay away from the computer and get stuff done... it's just a beautiful day outside, and lots to do to get ready for fall.
BUT, I couldn't stay away... taking a break with you ladies... but I can't stay long.
Stacey, sounds like you had a marvelous birthday. I love all your gifts, and things you splurged on yourself... you deserve it girl. Happy Birthday, again.
Don's home today... he's tired, and sluggish... but I have too much for him to do today to let him rest... LOL... yea, right. I'm trying to get the sunporch cleaned up so I can get some projects done this fall while it's not too cold, or too hot out there to work on stuff. So, I'm trying to get Don to get all his tools carted back to his workshop... so far... he's not cooperating with me.
I'm also trying to bribe him with a simply wonderful dinner... baby back ribs are marinating, got some huge bakers yesterday... and we're going to open some of the pickles LK left for me. Oh, yea... some freshly baked french bread, and tomato salad.
I think I have all my cuttings set in little pots, and inside the new greenhouse I built yesterday. All my bulbs are planted, and now I'm sorting through and dividing up some seeds I have an abundance of. I'm sending my sister some for her spring gardens, and she's sharing some of hers with me. I like how that works... call it sharing or swapping... it's just fun.
Well, back to work... got lots left to do today while I've got help.
That makes 2 of us that were going to stay away from our computers today! I see neither of us succeeded. I vowed I was going to finish a project before checking in but it got the best of me. What am I do do now?
Tinky, sounds like you had a fantastic trip, loved seeing the pictures but sweet niece, your birthday isn't quite over yet as more is coming. That all I am saying right now.
Oh Cindy, they are so right--one heartbreaker for sure. Wow!! All the talk of apples makes me hungry now for a fresh pie. We have 2 coming from the school where DD teaches but that isn't until November. Worth the wait as they are really great pies--deep dish one at that.
Jaye, have you recovered from the ballgame? That was some hollaring you were doing--could hear you down here!! Sure could as it was a wonderful cool night and the upstair windows are wide open!! Wonderful, cool air.
Oh, Deborah, Moultrie isn't that far then is it? Well maybe so, it takes me about an hour and a half to get there from my house. Yes, I have something in mind and will clue you in at the appropriate time. Just keep me updated on when you might go sew your Mom. Yes sir, working on a little plan I am!!! Just tell me when the sewing machine is needed and I will pack and travel.
Well back to my project. Will check back later.
Don't you just love those hearty German bread, Stacey? We love Bavarian food but I can't do sauerkrat!
Don't look I'm succeeding neither, still surfing...and I should be sewin!
Kel's still out there hammering away. He wants to get the gh finished before the obvious!!
Yah BJ a tip: I use those shower curtains or heavy liners from Dollar Stores as cheap emergencies covers for unexpected late frosts.
Now Marion, you know I'll maintain my decorum even through a rousing football game!! Naaaaaaaaah!! Lolol..sorry if I pierced your ear drums.
There's this website advertised on telly that might interest you. http://www.grandparents.com/gp/home/index.html
Sweet sistah Deborah, I forgot to let you know that I got the box and the card. Thank you so much, and you are very welcome.
I still haven't open up the box yet :D Sheesh, I'm truly lazy these days! Must be the weather :D But once opened, I'll be potting them up.
OK..gonna drag myself to the ironing board..
MOre to come!! WOW!! I think this is the best Bday I have had in years!! So many cards and wishes-yes the pressies are nice too-but not waht I cherish most-truly it is the bond I have formed with you all and to Kathy's surprise when I talked with ther earlier today, the cards meant more to me-the things that were said in them....I was all misty as I read them!!
I give up... I'm tired now, and I just want to sit and recoup before dinner.
Don did get all the tools off the sun porch... don't know what he did with them, but they're not on the sun porch anymore... he fussed the whole time... now, he's taking a nap.
I got all the composted cotton burr spread on the plants that need a little extra buffer from the cold this winter. I picked out a spot to build a cold frame... but, I'm NOT going to get Don to build it for me... I'll just dive in and do it myself when he's not here... he's such a gripe today. Well, poor thing was out the door at 3 am yesterday, and didn't get home till after midnight last night... did a Stars game in the afternoon, then a Mavs game last night... he's really tuckered. (and fussy).
I'm going now to cook dinner (the smell will wake him up)... then I'm done for today... I'm kinda tuckered myself.
So, Stacey... did you fill your Tote Bag full of goodies while you were shopping?
did anyone dmail mom that link??
most of my goodeis were too big, but when I was shopping on main street after lunch all the stuff I got was little, so it all went in the bag:)
we had went into a store that sold homemade quilts and the lady RAVED about it and wanted to know how to make it!!
Cool.
I'll dmail your MIL now.
thanks:)
MadamButterfly Deborah,
I too received my boxes yesterday.LOL I couldn't believe how long that one was. I bet the mail carriers loved that one. I planted the EE, but the others will have to wait until tomarrow. I need to seek out the perfect spot for them. Thank You GF, I'm going to have the most beauitful yard in Marysville Ca, and will be because of all the wonderful flower seeds and bulbs I've received.
You are welcome, girl friend. I'm glad that long box made it still in one piece. I did get the "eye" but it passed inspection. LOL Normally, I'd cut those stalk down to several inches about the root crown. But I wanted you to have an idea of how tall the tallest are compared to the medium size. Frost will kill the stalks but the roots will grow just fine over winter and in the spring you'll see new shoots.
I like my new name. More femine than dawg. tee hee
Yep, that's why I wondered what it meant. My brother has a biker friend whose nick name is Dawg. He's tall red hair or it was i haven't seen him in like 20 years or more. His little brother played on the San Frisco 49ers then too I also went to school with him.
Those guys sound tough and buffed. LOL
