ohhhhh thank you, thank you all! i love the input. It makes it so much easier when it's not my cat, sitting on the computer desk, pointing at the ones she like!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Great word image of cat pointing to ones she likes. lol

Gorgeous maple, Victor. Almost all of the ones in our neighborhood have lost all their leaves.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

After today's winds ALL the tree's have lost their leaves!! LOL

Thomaston, CT

My gardens are a sorry looking mess! Rosa Morden Sunrise is about the only bright spot right now.

I haven't even been out in the garden since Friday. Tomorrow morning I should get a chance.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, I've been away from this thread for too long, and I just can't keep up. Great pics, everyone. I haven't had time to take any at my place lately. Been out taking fall pics, which I've posted on other threads. And, as always, too much to do in my life.

I love the rose Robin, I agree about the last always seeming to be the prettiest.

That maple is just fantastic Victor, I wish that there were more sugar maples around here.

Nutsfordaylily... I agree that it's no fun feeling as if you're always behind, but my philosphy to deal with this is that: if I had to choose between a life too busy and one that's too boring, too busy experiencing too many things is far better than not experiencing enough.

Awesome philosophy, RC!
And, I concur!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Shelly, I have to agree with you on that. I would much rather be too busy than bored. I don't think I will ever be bored. No matter what my situation I always find things to do. When I was in Arizona I rented rooms from people, so I didn't have any gardening to do. Instead I filled my time doing ceramics and hiking and photography. I was never bored, but I suffered from anxiety. Still do, but medication helps with that. Could be my sleep apnea that causes that, plus the ADD I suffer from. I deal with it all the best I can.

You deal with it great. NFDL!!

It gets more and more difficult to get pictures this time of year because the sun now goes behind the hill by at least 4 in the afternoon. :-( Some some are out of my yard. Others (it'll be obvious) aren't.

Just one hosta is left, and probably still has a week or two. All the other hosta's (6 or 7) turned brown and I cleaned up at least a week ago. Then there's the one that's left (bottom and center) and it's usually earlier than the others as well.

Thanks you two. and good morning. Glad you like the driveway JoAnn. "it's pretty" is always my excuse for not getting to the leaves sooner!

Now THAT'S a country road.

And last for now...

This is the one who sits at the desk and points at pictures for me. (for some reasons she always likes the critter pictures though.)

RC, our puppy always tunes in when there is a dog on tv. They're cute.

I attended a lecture on gardening and the expert said dont rake those leaves. Mulch them into your lawn and turn them over in your garden.
I havn't picked up a rake since.
Cant wait to return to standard time. I've been up since five and it wont be gardening time for another two hours.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Funny how the animals know their kind!

I agree about the leaves whole heartedly! (except the ones in the driveway :-( )

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Wait for a good wind, theyll find a new home.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I love raking leaves. The smell and sound. Memories of huge piles we would climb a tree and jump into.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

It usually rains too much to let the wind take care of them. However, I have been lucky on occasion, maybe this year will be one of those since you mentioned it!!!

What great memories Debilu!! you're Fortunate for fond memories of raking (playing) with leaves. as kids, we did make piles and run and jump into them. (the trees were way too darn tall). Sometimes, if it was dry enough, we got to run over them with the lawn mower. I actually really liked that. I do love the sound of them, especially when the wind blows

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

We had great leaf piles as kids too.
We also burned them. Not allowed these days.
The whole neighborhood was full of smoke, nearly everyhouse burnned on the same day.
There wasn't much traffic so it wasn't a hazzard. Duering WW2 no gas ,and cars were scarse because tires were scarse too.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

So is it a good memory or a bad one? (I'm off to get some sleep for a while! )

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

While we were caboose camping this weekend, I would grab an armful of leaves from the ground and dump them on the campfire to watch the flare up and smell them.
