Phyllis just popping in for a minute to make sure you know I am looking for a hardy blue hibiscus also, not a tropical. Thanks hon♥

(Cathy), MO

Peg, what kind of ginger plant are you wanting?

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Oh, Cat, you would come up with a hard question. I just saw somebody had ginger blooming and I thought they were beautiful. I don't even remember what forum I was in, much less when. LOL. So, I'll take any ginger since I am soo uneducated here. I really need to keep from jumping around on all of these different forums. I forget where I've been. :)

Just checking in for a bit and got to get busy. Still spitting rain, not really a good rain, just yucky. But it's better than nothing. I can't believe that RU is week after next. I'm half-way ready, but that it the way I seem to be lately, halfway done, or half-baked, whichever!

1Anjl, there is a Silver Falls that sounds like what you want in the Marketplace. Also, Clem there is a black starfish, too. Might just nose around and see if you like it. If not, I'm sure we can find other places.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hi hotties, Phillis what a job you have on your hands, who was the trouble maker that started this Peg??? hee hee, i like it! Peg i take any starfish cactus, I like weird things you know.

Ok, will be back soon, trying to do DH's work, lol, If I don't do it, he'll be presenting divorce papers soon!

See ya all and have a great afternoon, Crazy hottie Clem

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I have been trying to keep up with ya'll .. and it is exhausting! How can you type so fast and keep your brugs growing at the same time?! I want to share my single brug triumph for the season.. finally downloaded the pictures.. this was last week.. I fought spider mites and the top leaves show the efffects.. the few bottom leaves show I have won. The plant now has hardly any leaves and is just sticks. I have had this brug for two seasons but only had a couple blooms before... don't laugh but this is the best I have had in a brug so far. My Mountain Magic.. post all summer spider mites:

My name's not on the list! I want a giant allium, purple! I've been looking at them for a long time. There are lots of things I'd like to have, I just don't have room!

Pensacola, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I am moved taters55 and I love it in my new place now I can really start gardening.......James

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Audrey, you've been on that list for a while now (3rd from the bottom)...your plumie and a couple Versi Peach cuttings are leaving KS this a.m., dropped them off at the p.o. over lunch hour.. I don't have any allium bulbs, the ones I dug earlier this year have been replanted and I shared at the RU... didn't have many of the big ones, maybe someone else can help you. Tammie! She's a gorgeous Bloomer, I think she is a Bonnie Varner cross and just as pretty as she can be... sorry to hear of your mite woes... Phyllis, nice pic on the list up there ;)

(Cathy), MO

I can send Peg some ginger. I have 2 different kinds. Mark her off the list!

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Isn't that the one you said should be our mascot picture....??

I'm all out of edits for the day....
Reached my limit....LOL

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

hey hotties.. spitting rain here, DH is sleeping, got the rest of the plant shelves in the basement.. peg I am halfbaked too! James so excited for you.. Cat: I'd like some ginger:)
Lhasa : I know how hard it is to watch helplessy while some minute thing fights your good loving..(mites yuk!)
the good news is: you did get blooms!
Bonnie, Donna, Clem, Louise who else wanted the purple queen? we have roots!
AnjiL hope your DR visit goes well.. keep us posted.
Audry: I tried allium... And I killed it:P~
Phyllis: you are going to love to be decorated by Debras' Garden Art!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

none for me Deb thanks...saving room for my brug, hoya, jasmine addictions. LL that brug is still lovely!!!! What a pretty pink! Bless you for fighting that battle. Had that battle myself this year. Brugs were the only thing NOT affected...yet. LOL Knock on wood.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

What are you calling "purple queen"? That is my purple queen in the pic with the Mountain Magic.. also known as wandering jew.. grows well here.. comes back every year. Lavender in the background.. barely visible.. We had 1/2 inch rain last night.. heaven. My rain barrel is full... I just rinsed it out yesterday because it finally was completely empty. What timing. I still have hopes of seeing a bud on my beautiful versa peach that never got spider mites.. is lush green and has grown well but no signs of blooming. It fugures! Have a few more weeks of nice weather I think before I have to move things in or give them their winter bubble wrap coats. I have two small brugs in the ground this year that will be bubble wrapped. One is a white that is just about to bloom.... will take pics.. it is almost overwhelmed by the cannas.. is only about 3 ft tall in the front yard. My first in ground brug....at home.. did one last year at moms and it did great so got brave and planted two here... will over bubble wrap them and christmas lights on them to keep warm so won't risk losing them to old man winter.

Tammie

... yes.. will take pics of that when it happens.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

oh cool...love to see that and hear how it goes in your zone.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Phyllis, I meant, the actual brug, all hotties will have one eventually, if I can get it to grow, and they want one.. but I like the pic there, too, but that might get boring for every new thread?.. Debra, I'm passing on your Purple Queen --(Morning glory bush?) TY, tho. So much left to bring in and I can't stop trading for brugs, it's a need I gotta feed... It's just stopped raining here, been pouring for more than 2 hours.. Hope your DH is resting well and feels better when he awakes... Tammie, is that some sort of evergreen or juniper? I just love the bubble wrap idea, and with the Christmas lights, I might even try it here, next year..

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Sorry! I didn't see it!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Bonnie been raining here too..hard but a good rain and no damage so far.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Tammie the purple queen they mean is a brug relative or sumptin. Love yours though very pretty. I have two different wandering jews. The fuzzy one called baby bunny bellies and the zebrina pendula, which is my favorite..the gift that keeps on giving.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Ladybugs! I am now, thanks to Mrs. Clairol, a beautiful light golden brown so I am not ashamed to go to the RU, LOL! Whew! Hate it when stuff like that happens!

We have been promised rain here all day but just one or two sprinkles...We finished the greenhouse and everything looks great, just ready to fill with plants ☺

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ok, I just looked up lachroma, and it is sooo pretty. Does anyone here have any? And in so many colors, red, purple, blue.....
I know I have seen the post, talking about it, but for some reason I never looked it up.
It may be my new addiction next year to go along with the brugs and Dats!!!
LK

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Audrey, it's okay, I get wound up or in a hurry and miss things here too.. be looking for a green miracle grow 20-20-20 fertilizer box with priority tape all over it in your mail box... got desperate for boxes yesterday.. HEY DEBRA!!! You talkin bout your Iochroma????? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE, YES, if that is what a Purple Queen is... I so hope I'm not too late!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi all, back from Dr and all okay for now...well, more pills (yuck!) but all else is okay ^_^

I agree Linda Kay, I love that Lachroma too. It is just beautiful, and will be an addiction for me next season

Debra, I did ask for Purple Queen before but I am not well enough to take it now. If you have some in the spring I will beg you for it then.

Tammie, so glad you got your mountain magic to bloom, sorry about the mites. I’m just loving the bubble wrap Christmas light thing, sounds like it might work here for some things. How many Lhasa Apso’s do you have? I had 2, one lived to be 19. My parents bred and showed them for about 15 years.

Karen, Faye, Is there a hardy blue hib? I though the blue one was a Rose of Sharon.

Back from the Dr, today was the allergist. Nothing he can do about what happened. He is pretty sure that I had an anaphylactic reaction to something I ate on the Wednesday before I went to the ER. He said I did everything I could have done to avoid what happened but sometimes the allergy get you anyway. He also said I am still in the middle of the allergic reaction, which is why I am so weak and can’t do much. The hospital only broke the asthma attack. He gave me more antibiotic for the throat infection that they did not clear all the way in the hospital and a new antihistamine pill. He also said I had to keep the Epi pen on me all the time, not in my pocketbook. He wants it attached to me. I need to get a few more. Wed, I go to the lung specialist and see what he has to say about the Asthma. It’s going to take a long time to come back from this one.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

LK, they are in the brug/dat family so I think it's ONLY natural we should be addicted to them, too! AnjL, nice brugs you have there.. Karen you are pretty no matter what color your hair, but now you feel better about it and I know yu will have a blast at the RU, remember pics, we want pics and the hottie sign like Louise and did :) Once I get my d-mail and waiting list cuttings mailed, I'll post a list, too.. still more cutting to do before they get "stripped" and sprayed and lugged inside. Yesterday, I put some tiny little trunk starts of Vixen and Charles Grimaldi in a mix of cocoa chips for orchids and potting soil. I can hardly believe it but they are still looking good... it's an experiment I'm trying.. we'll see.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Debra, I'll try to get one going for Donna and mail it when she's ready... Donna, nice to see you here, I didn't even read your whole post yet... will right now!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

(((((((((Donna))))))))) I'm prayin for you Dear.. I'm sure we ALL are.. You hang in there, I know you are a strong woman and it will take a lot of patience just like waiting for buds and blooms. How do they suggest you attach the epi?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hey too much going on today, not ready to read the hotties yet, too much going on tonight. Anyway, although I am being plain jane and not saying much, I do hope to get back to this talk soon, Crazy Clem

I'll have to say, no cuttings from me yet, but will soon, weather is getting NASTY!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Aunt B no praying for Donna, bad weeds never die, hee hee just like me! Right Donna?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Hang in there, Donna! I know you're tough, too!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Hey Hotties and Handsomes!! Too tired to hang tonight..just wanted to pop in : ) Donna take it easy!!!
TTYL!!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey little ole Donna, I sure hope you get stronger everyday. The blue hardy I have narrowed down that I want is the following....

Proven Winners Color Choice
Rose of Sharon
Botanical Name: Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Satin®'
USDA Hardiness Zone: 5-8
(Rose of Sharon) Hibiscus Blue Satin® adds a tropical look to the Northern garden with rich blue flowers that are sure to draw attention! The beautiful single flowers are accented with a bold wine-red eye that streaks out onto the veining of the petals.

Thanks Bonnie! I feel much better about myself with it fixed "back to normal", LOL! Will be back later to chat, got to figure bills, yecchh!

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)
