Thanks!

(Zone 4a)

Victor you have such beautiful trees! I just love the colours of them all!!!

Grampapa love the roses and pressed flowers.....sooooooooo pretty!

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

DawnLL - Victor has nice everything.

As for this picture...I guess the bottom of my compost bin is ready? :) [except I hate to disturb this guy - look how big it is!!]

wow, good to see more people back here today.

Jan and candyce, both of you were exactly right. The computer on but nothing else, definitely like a moth to a flame...... lol

Great Roses grampapa! How many do you have? It's a lot for sure! I was sort of worried that with all the wierd weather that mine might not get to open. They started to bud very late and then it became quite cool fairly quickly. It was 90 a week and half ago and now they are saying a snow level of 3000' by thursday night (i'm around 1800'). I don't want winter here soooo soon!! The few roses that I do have, for certain will loose all their flowers.

Victor, you're making me think that I need to get autumn moon! I have an aureum that actually did get some really nice red shades at the ends of the leaves last year, which was far more that I was expecting. I'm hoping for the same this year, but it was likely just a strange situation that caused the red in it.

Robin, I absolutely love your dahlia picture. I wouldn't have bought the orange either! A friend was thinning her garden and had a "grab bag" of dahlia tubers to give away. The orange was in the mix of the handful that I grabbed.

Great pictures RC.

pretty colors RC

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very pretty, Shelly. I like Autumn better than aureum.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Looks like the spider was posing for you in the last pic.

In general I love the oranges and reds and blue/purples families. The fall colors are just starting here.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It's peek weekend here, for the fall colors!
Lots of extra traffic on the roadways.
Soon enough, the leaves will be falling down and the bare branches that outline the skies will be most prominent.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

victor you am and orangeola look better than my two newbies. maybe next year.

shelly nice picture - you and victor top the list of great shots!. you'll be happy to hear all my kousa's i got are doing very well. even the radiant rose which lost all its soil off the root ball in unpacking.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Bill. Good news on the kousas. You'll enjoy them for many years.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks all, you're sweet!

Your timing is perfect Bill. I was going to send you a dmail today asking you how all of them were! I'm very behind on my dmails due to work, but that's slowing down, especially since I partially dislocated my hip yesterday. Thanks so much, that's quite the compliment! But, I highly doubt that victor throws away 20 pics for every 1 that he likes!

Victor, it sounds as if you have both the Aureum and Autumn Moon? Why do you like AM better? Just curious since I like them both, but I only have Aurem. It was a great deal since someone knocked it with a bobcat or something like it and they didn't think it was going to live.

Good Eye Jan!!! I was wondering who would catch the spider. I didn't even notice it was there until after I took the picture. That's probably a good thing.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - sorry to hear about the hip, Shelly. (What's the hip bone now connected to??) No, I only have the Autumn, but did lots of research on the two before making my choice.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

a partial dislocation is generally called subluxation. But, I don't throw that term around too often. I get some funny looks :-p instead of the femur bone being completely outside of the socket, mine sits on top of it. I've had it happen quite a few times before. For me it's generally only painrul for a couple of days to a week or two, depending on how long it takes me to get it back into place. If your curious, type into a search engine hip subluxation, you'll find lots of info either interesting or boring depending on how you look at it!

Those JM's are beauties! I noticed in the catalog that many interesting ones are zone6---my neighbor has a maroon cutleaf, which is all that I've seen around here. I'd like to try one, but am afraid to put in that kind of money & have the climate or the pooches kill it off! This is the first full year for my grasses which are doing quite well.

Most JM's can go colder - zone 4 or 5. Geranium Rozanne.

OWWW, Shelly. It hurts just to type that. You get it into place yourself? No doctor? ARe you still on the trails like this? Double OWWW!!! Plese take care of it. I like Victor's photo of the ball for your hip replacement. You can always count on Victor to come through in a pinch.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

My Dr. Ruppel had to have one last hurrah! I found this single bloom today but didn't see any other buds. There still hasn't been a frost here, but temps have gone down to the low 30's. I think the river keeps my yard just a few degrees warmer this time of year. Eleanor

Thanks for the rose "hip" Victor, that looks better than mine!! I love the itea and maple Am.

Love the clem grammyphoeb. Does it usually bloom in the fall for you?

Your right on the owwww Jan. No, I didn't work today, but yes it did "go out" in the middle of the day yesterday and had to hike out a couple of miles on it. During the hike it was uncomfortable, however I'm positive that that's why it was pretty crappy in the evening. Sometimes I can put it back into place myself, other times it takes a doctor.

anemones, taken last weekend.

ohhhh.... I have a question. I know that I have seen calla lillies forced to bloom for christmas. can anyone tell me how to do this? I have a calla lilly black forest that did bloom until just a couple of weeks ago and I just brought it in the house tonight as it will probably freeze. Anyhow, any suggestions?? If it doesn't really seem doable, then i'll put it back outside to run the coarse of winter (it stayed outside last winter and did fine)

again, taken last weekend.

Thanks redchic. Dr. Ruppel was planted last year and this is the first year I've had any re-blooms on my clems. Elsa Spath and Proteus both had a bloom but not very pretty so they didn't get their pics taken. I have a new bloosom on my Bailmer Hydrangea also. Eleanor

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Shelly those Anemones are beautiful, so abundant.
I have never had ny luck with Cyclemine but will try some next year.
Take xare of the hip. I have had both replaces, the last one kept disloctaing so I know how that feels. I cant believe you walked on it.
I had to have the dislocating prosthesis redone, so thats three hip replacements.
The surgery was the non invasive type and I was driving my car in a month.
The surgery is arthroscopic(sp) and only leaves a tinny scar, in case you are thinking of posing for Playboy.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm told PB air brushes everything?

Shelly the AM JM is very nice - mine get's a lot of comments when they see it due to the color and leaf type. it is also supposed to take more sun which is where i have it planted. Sorry to hear about the hip, i guess VB will be out of the question for a while.

There are some of you folks who should enter the photo contest--I'm blown away by the quality I see! Here is a late glad. I've
dug, washed, dried & cured the others. One other corm has sent up a second shoot--can't recall any this late.
