Thanks Victor you are right.

Nice pics everyone. It is raining again so I only worked in the garden for a short time today while Colin is napping. When the sprinkles started I grabbed my camera and got this shot. This is a pic of what I see from my back deck. The trees are finally starting to turn color here. Eleanor

I didn't realize that the pic above included a spider's web until I enlarged the image. This pic is an aster. Eleanor

This is the darker aster that is next to the lighter purple in the above pic. Eleanor

beautiful even in the rain Eleanor

I haven't been able to take many good pictures - the colors just aren't coming out right. But the ones of the fallen leaves are ok. So here's what the grass in the back is looking like now (this is looking down from the deck).

grammy I really love the purple asters! I never cared for them years ago but I have taken a huge liking to them - very pretty!
Oh and I love the pink mums too!

Hey Eleanor! How is Colin doing???

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Thanks for comments on the pics. Colin is doing OK. He is getting speech therapy 3 times a week and special instruction 2 times. He is starting to say more words but he is still so inconsistent. He has an appointment next week with the developmental/behavior pediatrician and we hope to get some more answers. Thanks for asking about him Jen. He just had a week's vacation in Martha's Vineyard with Auntie Jenn and me. Had a wonderful time. Eleanor

I think I got some decent shots of the color round here. Well, in my immediate neighborhood anyway :) Here's a shot of the top of a couple trees in the common area (so nice today...played a little hooky to enjoy it).

This is across a street to the other side of the path. Nice mix of colors everywhere.

Not the best clarity (I think my hands shake too much or something), but you get an idea of the great colors of this tree.

Eleanor, how old it he?
Hey Allison, that's a pretty good cell phone pic.
I love all the colors but not ready for it yet down here.

Very nice, Eve. I like the top one most.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Love the beautiful fall colors everyone. Jen - Colin is 2 1/2 years old. We started with a new speech therapist today and she is very good. Within a few minutes she had him analized - he can name some objects but his functional language is very poor (doesn't really have any) and articulation is very poor due to his not looking at you when you are talking. He babbles unintelligible sounds continuously but is not talking to others, just himself or his toys. She gave us some really good advice for the doctor appointment next week. She also gave us skills to work on - sign language and words for "more", "help", "please", and "open". I was able to get him to ask with words and signs for more pieces of apple at lunch today - so exciting when it happens but then again it is not consistent. He seems to be excited also when he connects with people but then he will go back into his own little world. Pic is at the beach on Martha's Vineyard. Eleanor
