Some people are hospitalized when exposed.

Beautiful pictures everyone! I love Fall! It has been nice driving the past couple days and seeing some color changes. Celeste, can I come meet Mr Moose?

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice pics everyone. I love the fall colors, but it saddens me too. I'll miss the cut flowers. Then again, I'll start looking forward to spring again.

You can Deb if you want.....I haven't seen him yet. I've found his footprints and droppings so I know he's there. DH needs to set up his trail camera so we can get his picture.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Footprint pics are cool too!! Hope you get to see him. I know I would be there for hours waiting, and DH would be asking me, Debi, are you coming in or what?!!

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

What's PI? I can't figure that one out.

wow those are some clean EE's - you must have hosed them down with a pressure washer! - i've found these to be pretty hardy - i've lost dahlia's - never and EE.
i let them stay outside during the day (when it is not raining) and bring them in at night for a week or so. then i put them in a big cardboard box with a lot of peat moss. give them a week of sun and boc them up.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

wow Victor, that's some great color!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Eve.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I agree, great color! It's amazing how fast it's changing this year!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks It really is a weird year. The color was only in spots, but those spots were peak! Very intense. Hope it's an omen for things to come. The PI and Virginia creeper seem to be in full swing now.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

When you folks overwinter tubers/bulbs... what do you use in your boxes and why? I've been using shredded paper. Would I be better off using something else, and again, why?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I've always used peat moss .... because that was what I was told to use!!

:-)

Great pics, everyone! I've been seeing pockets and single trees here and there with great color, but haven't had a chance to take any pics yet. I've noticed the sassafras trees have colored up really well lately. They seem to be early every year. I was driving around this morning and wanted to stop and take pics, but I was on my way to work, so I couldn't. Maybe if I leave early tomorrow morning I will have time to take some pics of them. The colors looked especially saturated in the overcast lighting we had this morning and yesterday late morning.

I haven't had a chance to take a walk in the past couple of days, but driving around haven't really seen any significant color changing yet.

At this time I see something out of the cornor of my eye. He/she was coming from the lake heading across the street towards the cattails.

I like that this one starts with a bright yellow tree on the far left and then has every color as you travel to the right of the picture.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

Here's what the grass part of the yard looks like (and no, we haven't mowed in a while). I love how "perfectly" the leaves are laid out, and the contrast with the green grass.

and the collection of leaves in the pond, contrasting nicely with the creeping jenny.
