Cotinus Grace.
Fall Photo's....lets share.
Why would anyone let PI just grow like that?
Some people are hospitalized when exposed.
9ft? Good grief!!!
Beautiful pictures everyone! I love Fall! It has been nice driving the past couple days and seeing some color changes. Celeste, can I come meet Mr Moose?
Nice pics everyone. I love the fall colors, but it saddens me too. I'll miss the cut flowers. Then again, I'll start looking forward to spring again.
You can Deb if you want.....I haven't seen him yet. I've found his footprints and droppings so I know he's there. DH needs to set up his trail camera so we can get his picture.
Footprint pics are cool too!! Hope you get to see him. I know I would be there for hours waiting, and DH would be asking me, Debi, are you coming in or what?!!
What's PI? I can't figure that one out.
Poison Ivy.
Where did the thread go " Preparing plants to come inside"! DUH I cant find it! Duh NINNY here. OK anyways here we go and my other pics are hiding of the EE's. Now I need help.
1. this is the bulb tuber I planted.
2. is this -Pups-?
3. is a thing that broke off. What is it, what do I do with it?
4. is a bunch of those things.
This is the 1st EE that I dismantled or started to :-/. It has been in the house 2 weeks"I THINK" and I brought it back out today and wacked it again. It was still Damp!! The one in the blue pot is still drying and getting its trunks wack and is still pretty damp.
So what do I do now? Someone tell me - please. I am getting lost on these babies. thom, willie anyone!
wow those are some clean EE's - you must have hosed them down with a pressure washer! - i've found these to be pretty hardy - i've lost dahlia's - never and EE.
i let them stay outside during the day (when it is not raining) and bring them in at night for a week or so. then i put them in a big cardboard box with a lot of peat moss. give them a week of sun and boc them up.
wow Victor, that's some great color!
Thanks Eve.
I agree, great color! It's amazing how fast it's changing this year!
Thanks It really is a weird year. The color was only in spots, but those spots were peak! Very intense. Hope it's an omen for things to come. The PI and Virginia creeper seem to be in full swing now.
When you folks overwinter tubers/bulbs... what do you use in your boxes and why? I've been using shredded paper. Would I be better off using something else, and again, why?
I've always used peat moss .... because that was what I was told to use!!
:-)
Great pics, everyone! I've been seeing pockets and single trees here and there with great color, but haven't had a chance to take any pics yet. I've noticed the sassafras trees have colored up really well lately. They seem to be early every year. I was driving around this morning and wanted to stop and take pics, but I was on my way to work, so I couldn't. Maybe if I leave early tomorrow morning I will have time to take some pics of them. The colors looked especially saturated in the overcast lighting we had this morning and yesterday late morning.
Karen
I haven't had a chance to take a walk in the past couple of days, but driving around haven't really seen any significant color changing yet.
Very nice pictures Celeste.
I'll second that emotion!
Very nice, Celeste. I like that duo too - o. Do turtles have the right of way?
If im driving they do.....I made sure it got across safely!
Glad you like the pics! Thanks!!
