Oops - one more. Arden House, currently owned by Columbia U., though they are no longer using it. It was Harriman's mansion.

Spectacular colours!!!

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

This is my favorite tree. I dug it out of my woods more than 20 years ago and it was the most pathetic thing you ever wanted to see! Many cars have slid off the road just missing it over the years. Some years it's yellow, sometimes orange, but this year it's mostly red.

Beautiful, Lynn! What type is it?

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

This is a Red Maple.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Lynn - that is a beautiful tree. Perfect shape and the color is so bright. Jen - it was a couple of weeks ago that the trees here were showing a little yellow and now they are in full color. Eleanor

Linda, nice to have you back in the 'hood!! What's going on out there in Arizona???

Louise

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9b)

Hi Louise! It is still in the 90's here. I have my first successful plumeria blossom. We are starting to plant our winter annuals here. Snaps, violas, stock, etc. Eventually the cottonwoods along our washes will turn yellow and my pomegranate usually turns a vibrant yellow so we will get some color closer to Thanksgiving. I so envy all the colors you guys have. That red maple picture was so nice. I'll attach a picture of my plumeria as my contribution to fall color! ha! Linda

Linda, your plumeria is gorgeous! My next door neighbor in Fla. has several along the line between our front yards, and we pass several of other ones when we walk each morning. They are such lovely blooms. We pick up the flowers that fall from one huge pink one and put them in a tiny vase when we get home.

I guess I'd better hurry up and get down there and get to my winter planting! It won't be long now. But it sure is hard to leave when it is still so pretty up here.

Happy Fall, Linda!

Thanks for the comment Jan23. Those temperatures sound wonderful! Linda

Thanks for the kind words about my maple tree. I do love it and thought everyone else would like to see it, too.

Wish we could grow plumerias up here. I'd love to give them a go!

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9b)

I would love to grow the maple tree here!! Those are one of my favorite trees. If you had a hot house you could try a plumeria there but they do need the heat. Thanks for letting me enjoy your beautiful tree! Linda
