Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #61
Now I must find a home for my new treasures...
Love the artificial no flame vanilla candles, bought a slew of them, gave each of the girls one and still had all these left over...a couple of halloween pieces...a couple of candy snowman glass pieces, something for Ariana (little sleeper) primitive wreath holder and wreath..Fairy plate, Christmas tree decorations, love the wreath and holder best of all, will show you a better photo once I find a home for it... just an array of fun things...would have come h ome with a new primitive made coffee table had we had room, kept looking for DIL as she had the truck and couldn't find her, otherwise home it would have come....
You know how I like metal art, well the same vendor that I purchased the 3 blue herons from last year was there, Ann bought the large one for her house...pretty things they had, loved a dragonfly, guess wing spread is 29 and he's about 27" long...kept looking at it, they wanted $75.00 plus tax for it..wasn't sure about it, it didn't have the laquer on it which I like because I like it to turn rusty so walked away, said after we finished all our purchases if it was still there it meant it should come home with me...
So near my pond it is..I'll move it though, right now I have no idea where it should go...

So that was my day, just as I was typing Cliff across the street just called, has a little cupboard and wondered if I might use it for my paints...best go see...
talk in a bit..
Love that dragonfly. I have been missing for a while. Am going camping for the last time next couple of days. I have been busy cutting brush and hauling to the burn pile. TIRED!! Miss you all. Will try to post more after Tues. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes listening to Conway Twitty. Lost love you know. Sorry just down a little tonight. Hope all is well with all. HUGS BEV
Betty we let the neighbor use the field. Everycouple of years we get a quarter of beef for it. Plus whan he is done with it he has to plant it back into a hayfield. What a lovely day you had! My favorite is you on the hay person!
I don't walk it much because there are bears around. Just haven't seen any this year. Would love to walk all over if I felt it was safe!
Bev sorry you are feeling down. Hope it is just one of those days and nothing serious. Hugs to you.
This is where we were when we heard the deer huffing. The road splits. But we turned around and headed out of the woods.
Just back, nope, just too big a cupboard..oh well!
Ah Bev, put all my Conway Twitty tapes away, lordy if I need a cry they will do it, even when I'm happy they will do it...he, Hank Williams and George Jones are probably my most favorite all time favorites...
Now Bev, you are working far too hard, probably why you are tearful...don't be sad, come gab with us, you do know right we're here for one another...yep...love MY Dragonfly, now will think of you each time I see it..
Vendor said that she doesn't take in her rusted pieces, leaves them out, says they look sooo pretty in the snow...will try that this winter...
Best go find a home for all these treasure, will be nice having all the halloween things lit up...then an early night...
If I don't come back..
Lord willing, we'll be gabbing tomorrow...
Vicki, looks like much of the color in your area is on the ground as well...
Great that the farmer re-seeds it...looks pretty..here I'm looking for corn stalk the decorate the front deck and here you've a zillion you could share...
Maybe on my way home for 'card making seminar' tomorrow I can stop at a farmer's and ask for some..pay for some, which ever...
I think our color will be better this year and maybe longer(keeping fingers crossed) because we have gotten more moisture and it wasn't as hot as last summer. But I could be wrong.
Thank you Ves & Betty. Love all you guys. That is why we are going camping. Got the lots mowed the other day so just have to try to enjoy!!! I will take my camera. You never know what may cross your path. Just so it is not the cougar that a friend saw out there last month!!!
I come to you needing prayer please. I haven't heard from my Fred, my youngest for a month now or seen him since Britt passed in March. He is living with girlfriend and her mother not 35 mile away but don't know addy and he can't find job long story. No phone and no email going through. Worrys me to pieces!!!!
Bev hang in there. I'm sure he is fine and doesn't even realize how worried you are. Hopeing no news is good news! Have a good time camping and I hope you get a picture of the cougar from inside your trailer! LOL
OMG no wonder you are worried Bev, will be adding you to my prayers...think men just don't THINK...he'll be coming back or calling and asking you why you were worried..because they are no longer children they don't know why they should call (report in) as mine would say..after Roger died, Greg was in so many near fatal accidents that he couldn't go to the store he had to call me and say he arrived safely..I was paranoid to say the least..kept saying Roger was coming to get him.....a mother never stops worrying do they...
Off to the trailer you go, we'll do some praying, you try to enjoy what's left of the season...
Have missed you...
Jeannine, one thing you have to say is that your life is never dull...omg if it isn't the puppies it's the children..he is lucky he didn't do more damage...headache city right...now how long would you have waited in emerge??
Truly am going to bed..another busy day tomorrow..imagine, making Christmas cards...sounded like the plan 2 months ago when I paid and registered, not as thrilling having it tomorrow...one day I must learn to say 'no'
Morning, hope your day will be a sunshine day...getting supplies together this early morning for a 'Christmas Card'making seminar from 1-4:00 pm...will be coming home with 3 but knowledge to turn it into all season/event card making hobbie, as though I need another..lol..might be something I can do at work and make my tags for presents this year to make them extra special..we'll see what the day brings...
Rather cold out there, in fact just turned on the furnace, could put it a little lower though..ahhh going to try my hand wax again, turned it on and NO MITTS and BAGS within so off to the races...
Betty, You are not a person that the word "no" comes easily for. You do more in a week than I do in six months. I too loved thebale of hay and the duck pictures. Such a cutie you are.
Dear, dear Bev. Thank you for sharing this with us regarding you son. I too will pray fof his safety. I hope that you will reccieve a phone call from him soon. I hate seeing you feeling blue.
Hello to each and all. I hope that you will have a wonderful Sunday.
Ruby
Hi Ruby, when I was a child they must have left the word 'no' out of my vocabulary..lol..how are you doing today...raining here at the moment so don't feel as bad going to a workshop knowing I can't play outside anyway...
Have you been feeling ok since your last procedure?
Passing the morning playing with paints...my witch needed 3 sets of beads around her neck..so I'm prettying her up..want her on my door by next weekend..might just make it..
Off to curl my hair, pack my workshop bag, leave at 11:00 to make a quick stop at Michael's..looking for a fall table display...
Betty, Thank you so much for posting the trip, and the fall colors. I have not been to Michigan for years, and I truely miss the fall colors.
Linda Kay
Linda Kay, your welcome, such a beautiful time of year, so we in the north it's bittersweet because we know that snow cannot be far behind...
Do love the winter once it has arrived, it's the on and off, freezing rain and major blizzards that I don't enjoy....but the whiteness, the beauty of looking at all the trees laden with snow...oh my it's breathtaking..
Morning all,
Loved the pics of your drive to Meaford Betty..so vivid..and such cute pics of little you on the displays.
Dragon fly is a great piece. Have you decided on the vey best spot for it yet?
I ended up not going to our little fall festival..I statred working on the garden..and cutting grass..and then painted my back door..and so the day went by....kept thinking..maybe later..but by then the weather wasn;t so nice..and I was tired.
Just finished the last coat on the door.
Bev..must be hard wondering how your son is..hope you hear soon. Your mention of Conway twitty brought back some memories.
Hi Ruby..how are you? I sure agree with you about all the activities Betty does..I couldn't keep up either.
Hey Vicki..lovely colour on those trees....enjoy your fall displays
Ok..back to work for me..must clean up my painting things..and carry on with the laundry and wash the kitchen floor..washed all the mats
My sister is coming to visit for four days on Wed.
I agree at the beautiful scenery with all the fresh fallen snow, but then you have to wake up and get out the layers of warm clothes and if you don't shovel out yourself, you have to call someone to do it for you... Shoveling is not one of favorite things to do! Please be careful when it does start to snow, and make sure you have plenty of salt on hand!
LK
Afternoon all...
Carol sounds as though you've been very productive...getting things caught up before it's too cold..I need to paint the front door trim as well, should have been doing it instead of playing..oh well, Thanksgiving is upon us and that's 3 days off...
Your sister is coming from where? London way? know the answer to this, just hit a 'blank' moment...
No to your question, not sure where the dragonfly will go..leaving it out to 'rust'..imagine, buying something then leaving it rust..but I do so like the look of the primitive type garden art...
Linda Kay, I do have someone to do the driveway with a plow truck but it leaves much to be done by hand...the odd time that we get an overload, Bernice's husband Cliff comes over with snowblower..thank goodness...
Enjoyed my day, there were 20 of us, most of them were girls I've painting with for decades so doing something out of our element was fun..
OMG if I continue with cardmaking doing the Irish paper fold method, means I need mega more tools/supplies..so will have to think on that one..
Photo doesn't do it justice..but it will be fun to bring supplies to work, doesn't take up much room, not messy, do at my leisure...have 6 more to do...then a quick trip to Michaels for more supplies...decided to send out homemade Christmas cards this year....
Got go put drops in my ears...drats to ear aches..can't seem to get rid of it..comes/goes but never gone..
Judy, you must be home by now, we need to know how the Zoo wedding went...photo's please...
Liz, I'm hoping you at least took out a couple of boxes of Halloween goodies...
Almost stopped to pick up supper but was tired so decided that I would simply have canned vegetable soup (wish I had some of yours Carol) put my feet up and enjoy what is left of this weekend..certainly has been busy..
Betty, those cards are so pretty. Do have some computer software you for them, or are they all handmade, cut out stencils and such! Lots of work...
Hope everyone had a wonderful week-end.
LK
These are so very easy to do...was fun..bought 3 more patterns and now I've got to look through my scrap booking paper for christmas paper, or ribbon..
The first one is made of crinkly type paper, almost like a fancy wrapping tissue paper..shinny
The middle one is made of ribbon
The third is scrapbooking paper cut in strips of 1" wide and folded in half to give it the quilted look...
Soooo much fun doing them...
Betty, enjoy your bath, take care of that earache, and enjoy the homeade soup.
Witchy poo looks pretty nice, can't wait to see the finished product.
LK
Hello!
LOL Betty, I have been home since 1:30...Started to do some laundry and work on my fairy flag. LOL, pretty soon it's 6:00!! Didn't even realize how much time has gone on today.
The Zoo wedding was very nice. We were transed to the actual site which was by one of the very pretty Water fountains. LOL, the only animals we saw at that point were ducks. LOL, thought that was kind of dumb, since i can see ducks everywhere around here. Cermony was lovely. Then we got transed to the Baby giraffe exhibit were there was a short reception. Now that was pretty cool. Steve took one picture and I took one of the baby Giraffes, my they are really pretty. And of course I only got a few pics because, my )*(*(*&%$%#$%, batteries ran out! I am telling that is just so aggrevating, But the good thing is I got a few anyway. In the next room another bar set up and this room was really neat. Was like being in an Arborteriam. Birds calling and flying everywhere. And this room even had Kipspringers, they are like little goats. No pics of them because they were really quick in and out of the rock formations. So we visited in that room and Photos with the wedding Photographer was taken. So we mingled with family member who came in for the wedding. They are Cuz's that live in Boston, Oregon, and Arizona. It was wonderful to see them and catch up with all there news. LOL, was Funny because I would start to tell them a story and they already new my news! Geesh...Wonder who the blabbermouth is.
Then we were Transd to the Discory room. this was a huge room were we had the dinner and Celebrated the couples new life together.
I tell, you some people are just so rude it's sickening. Remeber the family that was rude at Christmas, well, they just picked apart everything about the wedding, did nothing but complain...The ma, even asked me if I thought their wedding was better then this one. I was flabergahsted! I said, Well your was fun, and I am having an awsom time at this one too, I said I love all weddings. Geesh if they werent the talk afterwards, lol.So was really just a great day. The weather was chilly but I was well prepared. As you know, i had to go shopping early in the day for a dress...LOL, your right Carol, nothing like the last minute, just gotta laugh. But I did find a very pretty dress. Teal, short sleeved, A nice collar of silk and around the sleeves, and a silk sash around the waist. I really felt elegant, and even wore makeup!!
Was funny cuz i had to buy that too. I had to ask the lady, what was a good mascare that didn't cost 12.00, lol she looked at me kind of funny, So I laughed and said well, i don't wear makeup too often, like once every 5 years or so...Anyway, since i was going to be out side for a the ceremony, I needed a light Jacket, so I found this waist length, one that I just had to have, It's kind of off white, and just enough that I wasn't terribly cold. heheh, again had to laugh because, While I was shopping, I playing Coco Channel. Decided on the Jacket, I had to ask the lady if she thought it was a good match. She brought a sweater too, But i fell in love with the Jacket, decided I would wear it more often. Would also dress up a bair of black jeans too...And the Best part, I only paid 68 bucks!! What a bargain. Makeup and hair pin was only 12. LOL, the cheepest thing I bought was the nylons!! After the Wedding several of us Couzins went to the room of another Cousin where we proceeded to visit until the wee hours of the morning. Check out was at 11 and we went to this awsom Place Downtown for Breakfast. Met Up with Cuz from Boston and Arizaona for that. These two, are brother and sister, that We have been very close to all their lives. They are more like our own kids to us. Was funny because Brandon brought his girlfriend and told her That I am like a sister and mom than a cousin. That was such a special thing to tell her. Made me feel really good.
Then home we came...
Oh Bev, I am sending you hugs and prayers you feel better. Your photos as, usual were beautiful.
Betty, What a wonderfully fun day you had. I enjoyed the pictures. OMG, your witch is splendid!! If I didn't know that was painted on wood, I would swear the hat was made of cloth! She is excellent.
Ohhhh, I love the cards, what a neat idea. I hope you feel better.
OH, I was also enjoying your Fall colors. How wonderful to see...We are just starting to change.
Ok well better get back to my embroidery and swicth loads.
Waving hello to everyone!
Oh Judy sounds as though the wedding was spectacular..different for sure but meaningful for the couple..and...that's what it's all about isn't it...
The gall of some people, imagine asking you such a question..think I'd be scratching them off any further list...
Can't wait to see photo's, do hope you have some of you all guzzied up..and yes, I don't wear makeup at all except for a touch of lipstick (ok I should maybe wear make-up but I don't-lol) and when I'm in that department omg I'm so glad I don't...sooo costly...
Been watching 'David Jeremiah' preacher and can't quite understand it..although I like his preaching he's speaking about oil reserves, who is the biggest producer, who uses oil the most (USA) and I'm not quite getting what this has to do with 'religion' so guess that's why I took a stroll downstairs...NOT...did witches hair, closing the lights and having a good night sleep I hope..only thing missing is the ear drops and I'm on my way to do that now...
Do all enjoy your evening
Night / night
Best...fun day with friend
Worse...omg 2 lovely doves, am sure that were coooinngg a love song, was coming down the road and was enjoying seeing them so I couldn't have been going that fast...all of a sudden the bird took flight but right into my car ...bang..looked out the back window and feathers were flying....needless to say I was sick to my stomach and even shed a few tears...so sad!
What did I learn today...
How to make cards...
Suggestions please...most of you know that I make costumes for the grandchildren every year..at one time they switched costumes so I'd make 2 every year, then the past 2 years I've made 4 each year...
Telephone just rang..starts with "Grandma Betty, I know what I want to be" Abominable Snowman...and Braedon comes one, "grandma Betty you make the best costumes, I've thought a lot about it, want to be a 'dead groom' burried for years...in a tuxedo, warms and spiders coming out of him...almost like the zombi.....'
So, where I thought next weekend might be a 'rest' weekend I just got my sewing orders..now to find time to purchase material...hmmmm
Oh my gosh......I am out of breath just thinking about all that Betty crams in to her days. When Tucker was a little guy I always ended up preparing at leat two outfits. He couldn't make up his mind. I believe that one year we had four costumes put together. I just thought of this first ime in a long time. I can remember that at least two of the years after putting together everything, Tucker ended up being a ghost with a white sheet with eye holes cut in it. Ha Ha.'
Judy, the wedding sounds like it was lots of fun. Yeah, yeah, show those pictures of the day.
It is the beginning of a new week. Have a good one all.
Ruby
Moving us over...Monday morning and guess what...ice on the windshielf of my car...yuk
