North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread #3

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Melva.....You had me down for a Turks Cap and Monarda.
I am bringing you a Mouse-Eared Tickseed, & Hillary’s Swt Lemon Mint.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

No problem for all the "bulbs"

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, you will be getting some French Hollyhocks.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Mibus....I'll put you down for those. Not all will be rooted but there will be multiple cuttings in the pot.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

*PLEASE* Everyone look at my list and see if I've forgotten anyone or anything.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

bronc...could I get a red yucca?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

TJ, are you by any chance bringing manure this time?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

TJ, can I also get a Bog Sage if you have any left? I am not seeing anything for you on my list, so please let me know what you would like from mine.

Sheila, your getting a bog sage from me. You may want another from Bronc, just letting you know. I need to get my list cleaned up today.

I cleaned up my list, if i have forgotten anyone please let me know.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Kim, one Red Yucca coming up! Could I get an Apple Mint and any named salvia or passionvine, please?....surprise me

Pattie, no manure this time around. I don't have time to go get it, go get the sacks, and fill the sacks. But if you can get a pick up, the dairy by my house sells composted cow manure for $20/heaping truck load.

Sheila-one Bog Sage for you! Could I get what you can spare of the Lyreleaf Sage, Jerusalem Sage, and Sweet Lemon Mint, please?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

T.J., I'd like to have starts of
Lavender 'Munstead'
Peppermint
Spearmint
Chocolate Mint
Pink Texas Skullcap
and a Chinese indigo
Please check my list to see what I can bring for you. I'm trying to figure out what kind of haw we have growing on our property. They look a lot like rusty blackhaw. They are definitely in the virburnum family, not ilex. I might be able to dig one of those with enough roots to survive if you'd like to have it.
Thanks,
Patricia

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Pat, the Chinese Indigo will be an easy dig. As for the rest, would you like me to take cuttings this evening and put them in some dirt or take fresh cuttings on Saturday? Either way is fine with me.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Whichever way fits your schedule the best is okay with me, T.J. Thanks! Get back to me with what I can bring for you when you have a chance.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Pat, the liatris 'blazing star' and West Texas Mistflower would be good if you still have them. I lost the Mistflower that Frostweed gave me earlier this summer.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Shelia, I got you down for Monarda and a Turks Cap...now who is getting Rose of Sharon, from me?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

T.J., I have both and have put your name on them.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Does anyone want some Pear Mint? It was in the same bed with the Turks Cap and I got a lot of them...

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I'd like to try some melva!

bronc...I'll put you down.

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Melva I would like to try some too. Tr

Tanarea....sorry.. but I don't even have silverberry... joe pye weed seeds... moss rose seeds orMexican flame vine seeds... so that must have been a trade with someone else.

Might as well tell ya'll some of the natives I dug aren't looking happy at all.. I have lost some, others are struggling and a few are ok. If the trunk is still "green".. I am going to bring them anyway. I do know on many this spring I thought they were dead, and after about 2 months they finally put on new leaves. I hope this is the case here, but regardless I am going to pot a lot up here the end of November, and see what luck I have , and I will remember all that I traded with this spring. Some have been dug about 2 months, but others haven't been dug that long. I am sorry.. but I won't forget you!

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

No problem Becky, we had talked about the seeds before and you said you didn't know if you still had them or not. I thought you had the silverberry but that is okay too. I was just hoping to make jams from it. Were you able to get a Farkleberry dug? Tanarae

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

oops!

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Got all the plants pulled that I have traded and got them sitting out on the ground in front of my annual display area. Gonna have to clean up a few (danged weeds). I am going to bring the daylily seedlings in bare root as they will take up less space. I will have other things to trade at the swap including a few named daylilies that will be potted and tagged but I haven't decided which I am bringing yet. I will shove in all I can fit in the truck, lol. Hopefully no one goes home empty handed, lol. Here is a sneak peak at my trade plants.

I went through every post and dmail, thought I was doing good. Missed alot huh? Thanks for reminding me, I would have hated to miss the double rose of sharon, lol. Tr

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Lynea, would you like a pink hardy hibiscus plant instead of the seeds? I have one that will be quick and easy to dig for you. LMK

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm sorry Charlene, I wasn't as careful about the returns as I wanted to make sure I brought all the things promised. I certainly don't feel slighted in the least and will certainly enjoy and so appreciate your kindness and the kindness of others here. No doubt I am going to come home with some very new and interesting things to me. My little nursery has lots of plants but to me they are not new anymore and I am wanting to collect some from here for my personal use in my beds. Please please don't feel guilty in any way shape or form on my account. If you brought nothing I would be happy to share. Tr

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Tanarea... TY for refreshing my memory on the seeds.. I have "slept" since then ..lol I found some joe pye and Cretan rock rose..cistus villosus.. no moss rose or Mexican flame vine. I'll bring those to you, and I bet the silverberry is what I call the elanganeus shrubs,( makes wonderful jelly) and yes you have 2. The beautyberries are still iffy, I have one tiny one I am ok with.. and 3 that are iffy and TJ's yaupons are real iffy..lol.. I have 2 farkleberries I am ok with, and another 1 iffy on... Dennis also wanted farkleberries, Josephines dogwood is ok Your beebalm is ok...If there is anything else you want just LMK.. I am bringing them all anyway... BTW.. your plants are gorgeous!!!

Sylvia... your dinnerplate Hibiscus is dead and buried..lol... sorry!! your quince is great! If I can bring you anything else LMK!!

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Charlene, Chicken manure for me?

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey there Becky, believe me I understand. I went back through everything and still missed stuff. Hopefully not anything I am supposed to bring. The seeds are great and thanks so much for looking. I know you had said you didn't know if you still had them or not. Yes I think the silverberry is the elanganeus. Yipeee! I am very excited about that one as I have wanted one for a long time. No sweat on the bb as I think I have another one coming from Charlene so let someone else have it that needs one. Did I have you down right on my list?? Tr

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I just updated my list too. Please check if I'm supposed to be bringing you something!

Jenepat, has anyone asked you for your daffodils? I'd love them if they're still available.

Phyllis, may I have one of your Autumn Beauty brug cuttings, if you still have them? And, would you like some catmint cuttings? They will be fresh cuttings, but all you have to do is stick them in the ground. If you're still looking for water plants, would you like some of the lemon bacopa?

I am presently squeezing chickens for you Melva and will add it to the list. Actually, I have some nice dry stuff ready for you with a lil' bit of compost mixed in. Thanks for pointing out that I left it off the list.
Charlene

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Charlene..don't squeeze them too hard!

Plano, TX

i am coming to the round up! i am riding with melva--i do not know anyone but am looking forward to it--of course since i decided so late i am not on any lists for trades but i will bring some stuff -- maybe there will be some things that haven't been spoken for already that i can trade for--it will be fun to meet my fellow texas gardeners!

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Welcome Linda (I am assuming that is your name, lol) welcome. Please check my list and see if there is anything you would like for me to bring for you, I still have some room. I bet there will still be stuff there to trade for that is not spoken for already. I know I will have some extras still available. My friend Janette that is coming hasn't done any trading and I am sure she will be bringing some things to trade there as well. It should be great fun. I am really looking forward to the days getaway. Tanarae

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda, I will add your name to the attendance list.
Josephine.
