Plano, TX

uh oh!! -- by the way -do we bring lawn chairs (see there i am thinking of relaxing again!)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

There are many picnic tables, but if you want to bring a chair that's fine.

Plano, TX

ok--i haven't checked the weather--hope it is as pretty as last weekend!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Linda... since my cousin and I will be greeting everyone, I'll point you to wherever my stuff will be...lol...I won't have a whole lot of extras, but you are welcome to some! Anyone is!!

yeah I will be bringing lawn chairs... just in case

Plano, TX

thanks becky--i have been reading all the past post and see how people "call" for plants --so i have this image of me sitting there with my stuff and then leaving with my same stuff!! wouldn't that be sad!
i am looking forward to meeting you all--melva has said what a nice group y'all are

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

One of my rules is never leave with anything I bring!! LOL!! Others are of the same feeling. Just ask Broncbuster. We loaded him up last fall with all his truck would hold! LOL! Sometimes we give plants away to strangers in the parks where we have swaps too. A lot of us bring stuff at the last minute that we hadn't announced for trade, forgot we had, etc.

Plano, TX

oh goody!! sounds like more fun all the time!!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda, don't worry, there are always takers for extras and surprises. You might look through the trade lists, though, and see if anyone has things listed that you want. I have several things on my list that no one has asked for, so I probably won't bring them. But if someone wanted them, I would.

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda my friend Janette is coming too and bringing some things to trade from her gardens and she hasn't traded anything, I will also have extra stuff to trade that is not spoken for. I bet there will be plenty of stuff still available. Tanarae

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I'll be helping my mom divide some things to bring Friday, so she will have some items to trade too. She is happy she will finally have something to give back. Offhand I know she will have shasta daisies and white yarrow.

:) Kim

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Super Kim, it will be nice to see her again.

Southlake, TX(Zone 8a)

I have spoken to Bananna18 and since she is close to me she is bringning my trades and the sweetnes overflows, she is bring my trades back and we will hook up the following weekend.

pbtxlady - yes, that's right about the coleus. I would love extra cuttings if you have them, but since they have to stay wih Anna and the temp is going to be cool. I will hold off until later. thanks.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, Liz, I should have a lot by spring. I'll put your name on some and save them for you.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K. guys, we are getting very close.
The post at he top of this thread has the link to the park location and directions on how to get there.
If you need more instructions please let me know.
We start at 12 noon to give people coming from out of town a chance to get there on time.

Please check what food or supplies you are supposed to bring and consider the # of people, about 50.

Print your plant trade list and label each plant on your already traded list with the name of the plant and the person you are giving it to, in order to avoid confusion later. Keep those plants separate, you will have a place for those, under the table in your designated space with your name on it,
Label your not traded plants with plant names, so that if you trade them or give them away, people won't have to guess what they are, place those plants on top of the table.
Keep handy the list of plants you are supposed to receive and from whom, so you don't forget to collect the plants that have been promised to you.

As you arrive pull your car close to the pavilion entrance, come to the sign in table, put your name and the names of your guests on the list, get your name tag, and pay your share of the rental fee.
I estimate $4.00 per member will cover it, guests do no pay.

Volunteer helpers will help you take your plants to your place and your food and door prizes to the appropriate tables. PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO BRING ONE ITEM FOR EACH PERSON IN YOUR PARTY.
After you unload please move your car to a parking space so as to let other members do the same operation.
This will allow us to operate smoothly and avoid confusion.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

# 1 EAT LUNCH
#2 DOOR PRIZES
#3 HAVE FUN VISIT AND TRADE TO YOU HEARTS CONTENT.

I hope to see you all there.
Your friend;
Josephine.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Melva, could I get a little bit of your pear mint too?

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

You can have some, but little bit, is not possible...

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, could I get a cutting of your brugs 'Pink Beauty' and 'Autumn Treasure'? Is there anything else I can bring for you?

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Anyone want a Cardinal Flower? It is Lobelia

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

What kind of lobelia? I have a few but they don't seem to do very well here even in heavy shade. Tr

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I would like to have it Melva if Tanarae doesn't need it.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Tanarae,
It is Lobelia cardinalis (I think)

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Let Josephine have it, I believe I have that one already. I love the lobelias and keep trying them but don't have much luck with them in my beds. Maybe my soil is just too crappy yet. Gonna do some ammending this winter so maybe next season will be better for them. TR

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you both.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Okay Josephine, it is yours!

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Your welcome Josephine. Any tips on growing them in our climate?? Tr

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I have never gown them before, but i do have good soil and shade, and I believe they like lots of water which I can provide.

Josephine.

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Josephine, I just glanced over there for a minute but will do some more reading. Luckily I do have a well so I can water but the soil is still crappy. Just some I had hauled in and it was good in places and not so good in others. Ammending is definitely going to help. I think they need looser soil and more nutrients and better drainage. TR

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, I have potted up everything and I have WAYYYYYYYYY more plants than I promised and/or need!! No wonder we do this twice a year! LOL

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

Well Stephanie, what else ya got?? Inquiring minds want to know???? Tr

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)
