Phyllis, I don't quilt, but I do recognize that pattern you are working on. It's one of the hardest to do! That will be an heirloom to pass down.

Judy, post pictures of your place on the lake too!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ok the squares came from

IL,CO,AZ,PA, KY, TX (2),IA, MA(2), CA, WA, AK
Australia (3)
Nova Scotia (2)
New Brunswick (2)
Saskatchewan
Quebec
British Columbia(2)
United Arab emirates
Malaysia
England

5 of us send 4 squares instead of 2 out of the 29 gals in the swap.

I thought it was the easiest looking pattern I liked LOL

Marion I have no idea how many I really have now LOL I just want to make it so it fits a queen size bed
so if you have extra and really want to get rid of it sure .
But if you can use it for something keep it and use it :-)

Mom said she got the tiles, but had a tile guy come do them to get them lined up right-they are adorable!! Love them!! The only dirt she ever has is hair from the cat and dog-never dirty!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Phyliis, I thought you might still be collecting them different places. I have oodles of fabric and if you need some more let me know for sure. I do like the pattern of the block.

Hit send once, Marion. And wait when it's not responding.

Me too, got plenty of pre-washed fabrics. I'll even press them for you Phyllis!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Judy, that's a great smile you have! Was that photo taken at the lake in Chicago?

That's going to be a beautiful quilt, Phyllis. The pattern is familiar but I dont' know the name. It looks hard. Did you get the fabric or squares from a swap? From all around the world - how cool is that.

Marion, there are so many pretty patterns and color combinations - they all caught my eye. Most are fun, bright colors that are not 'my' colors but thought they would make such cute quilts. For example: maypole, portugal, posh, charisma, woodland bloom, butterfly fling, dandilion girl, etc. I could go on and on! I'm thinking of getting something cute like that to practice on. If I decide to make something for my own use the only colors I've seen so far have 'fall' in the name. Example: fabulous fall and fall back in time. My colors are boring compared to the fun ones.

I did start a thread on the quilting forum and got some good advice. Exactly the kind of information I needed. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/904616/

Oh I could add more to it I"m sure but then maybe it might be a neat idea to do one wtih squares from my DG sistahs and have it separate from the one from the Ladies of the Heart gals.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hehehe Debra I was just going to post to Judy that it looked like Lake Michigan there wtih the Chicago skyline behind her.

It was a quilt square swap we made the size large enough that you could do them as is in big squares or do like I did and find a pattern and cut them into what you needed for it.

If I had the money and knew how I think it would be neat to do one that has peoples pictures on the material for a wall hanging.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

mom is using up all my stash as we speak. I cant wait until she goes to Europe so I can do some. Maybe she will leave me some fabric. My aunt is up for the weekend and they are making the silent star pattern. And the bouquet.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Debra, I've recently won some square packets off eBay, all from Moda, and they are Portabella and Cotton Blossoms. I had compared prices first, and still found some sellers to be much more reasonable on eBay. I like the ones sold in kits or packs, all that decision making is already done for you.
Phyllis, tell us what size squares you need, it will be nice for you to start a charm quilt. Nothing matches, but once sewn together, that quilt WILL sparkle!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye, I thought buying them precut was a good way to do my first quilt. (more likely to actually finish it). I did learn from my inquiry on the quilt thread that the pinking will require a wider seam for it to rag properly. So the 5" squares will end up 4" squares once pieced together. One 40 piece pack would make a 24" x 24" quilt. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a couple of packs to make a 48" x 48" (is that right?). My DD and her fiance love dogs and are really into dog rescue - there is a cute dog print that I may start with and give it to her for her birthday or Christmas.

Off to ebay .....

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL Jaye I have no idea what size to tell ya remember the one I just showed pictures of is the first one I have done other then finishing one my grandma had started for me years ago that is gone.

mmm idea...everyone go buy some fabric that says "this is me" ya know something that represents you so to speak
then ...mmmmmm...wish I knew of a way to get a photo on top the fabric ...anyway take some fabric paint and write your name on the piece of materiel so it will be seen once they are sewn together

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yeah, you could make a simple quilt with a common colored sashing!
Now, if I get a 30 square pack .. I normally get 5".. then you'll see my name 30 times!! How egoistic is that?? Lololol!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ladies, once again I require your full attention please!!!!!

Look what I got from Marion today. I got some really nice quilting magazines, and a wonderfully soft purple sock!!!!
Marion I thank you so much.

When I first got the package, I thought it was the styro balls I need for the santa, but then I thought, no, they are pretty squished if it is styro balls, so I opened it up, and oh my...

Thank you so much for all your thoughtfullness, and just knowing you are all thinking of my foot, makes me feel good.

Thank you Marion. I love the purple sock, and quilting magazines.

Jaye ROFLMAO I hate to break it to ya honey but I highly doubt you are egoistic unless you are puttin up a really really huge front online and from my experience a person shows their true self more so online then not when among people that they are friends with...even if there is a mileage distance between them.

wow what a lovely sock LK

I'm not Kathy, LOL< I'm talking to Cindy right now.

Cindy, you posted a picture of your whole living room a few days ago, that was the room where I saw that Dragon Tree. I can't find that picture, what thread was it on? I would like to look at it again. I ain't no decorator or designer by no means, but I did read a ton when I redecorated my house. I'd like to throw out some suggestions.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Kathy, are you lost, where's your question? And are you talking about Joyce or Jaye. Turn your spell check on, hirl.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, how high is that ceiling pitch?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

And does that catheral go all the way across the ceiling to the other side of the room?

Is she still, Kathy? Find her yet?LOL
