She's About 2 #18
Linda Kay they really like full sun but I do have some on the northwest side of the house and they did just fine. My post above with the lillies are those.
I am sort of half Texan and half Missourian. LOL. Born in MO, moved to TX (Pasadena/Deer Park) when I was 6, moved back to MO when I was 15, moved back to TX (Jacksonville & Rusk, & then Houston area again for 4 years) when I left the kids dad. And back to MO 12 years ago. I consider both states home! :-)
Louise, I’ve dealt with asthma for years too, never was a real big deal, like you once or twice a year with a cold or something. A couple of years ago, the old body decided to be allergic to everything that floats in the air so now I constantly have problems.
My Mom and daughter both have had serious disc problems and the Chiropractor could not do much for either of them. My mom had the surgery and is glad she did, my DD is getting away with the shots for now.
The funniest part about it all is when he was talking surgery within a week. I was not thinking oh no I am afraid of surgery and oh my gosh you mean paralyzed? I was worried I would miss the roundup LOL.
LOL weese!! They cancelled the shots and rescheduled.. and one date .. the last.. is the day I wll be traveling to the Arlington RU.. I said NO WAY..LOL.. That's the one I get to meet Peg.. no way I am missing that one!! The back surgeries are soo much easier now.. you'll still be able to go to the RU.. remember Lyle?? 12th back surgery.. 5 weeks later hip replacement.. and 4 weeks later pulling the camper to my first RU?? If he can.. you can!!
cat... I was raised in Houston but went to So Ho High, and Pasadena was just up the street from us, so that was my stomping grounds..LOL I was raised off Richey Street.. we might have been neighbors!!
OK.. out to work.. I am determined to start one of the burn piles, and keep adding to it all day.. I won't be worth a flip tomorrow.. but such is the things of life!! I'll still sneak in and check up on you girls.. and handsome!!
Posy...Well according to one themomerter (sp?) it was 27 another said 30 and the DH's Truck said 35..
But when I went outside to feed the feral cat and babies there was a light frost and it sure was cold...
(I usually don't feed strays but she showed up here bigger then a boat and all skinny everywhere else months ago and I felt bad for her...then she had 5 babies now 4 and I just wanna give them a chance ..she hisses, growls and meows at me the whole time i'm bringing her out food...LOL)
The DH tries to pretend he doesn't like my flowers...But asked me if I got them all in last night....
I was in the big subdivision across from the Refineries!! Between 225 and Red Bluff Road. Stinky! I guess you get used to it when you are right there. Last time I went down there, the odor about knocked me over!!!
lilsista, be careful. I felt sorry for a stray several years ago. Tamed her down a little, and she had babies. Then, as they were wild, I couldn't catch them, and some of THEM had babies!! I was up to 17 cats of various sizes before I got serious. Went and bought a trap. Tamed the babies down and found homes for them, and the original and the 3 that had been there longest and were already grown, went to the vet to get spayed. One is still wild. She will let me pet her once in awhile if she comes up to eat by my feet and I don't move sudden. The others are all tame now. All outside cats though
They multiply quick!!!
Wolfie, you're a romantic! My sweetie is, too! She'll love it!
Yeah I know all about Multiplying fast....My Cat did..LOL
Started spaying and fixing her babies that we kept..as the Vet told me she was too old to spay...
My DD has the last remaining one....I'm cat free for now..dog free too as she took mine with her also...LOL
It's a shame cause people get pets and then don't want them...and they drop them off here...
And then we have to deal with them...If we had a running dairy farm it might be different but we don't anymore..
Not in a long long time...
When we rented a farmhouse we were told the barn cat colony went with it. There were four cats a mama a tomcat and two mostly grown kittens. I trapped them all and got them fixed through a program here for hearts united for animals. It was a 10.00 fee for ferals that included nuetering and shots. I released them all and the doc said good thing I got them fixed because the half growns were both female. After that we thought we were home free then a feral pregnant cat showed up on the farm and had her kittens and then died. We had four more kitties. Here is a pic of some of the kitties we fed. That is our goose trying to pinch the kitties tail and chase them off so he can eat the food.
Louise, sorry for your problem. Sounds like a deteriorated disk in your neck. My mother had the same and her Dr. said this is a very common occurence in women (from hold & picking up too much weight - babies, groceries, etc). She had a neck fusion done and no problems to this day (over 25 yrs.).
My husband has been plagued with lower back problems for years and he got one of those inversion machines (they hang you upside down by your feet) and it has been miraculous. Has not been down in his back since he got it - 2.5 years.
Wolfie, what a beautiful note for DW - both of you enjoy your 49th!
Little brugs doing fine.
Had to tell ya'll!! We just got power!! YAY!! Prayers work.. and I ty sooo much!! Now to get back to normal..lol.. whatever that is.. and that h o u s e w or k.. I am the moderator.. I can say it... hehehehe I 'll catch up later!!
Becky, yahooooo....... I can't imagine being without power for that long. We have lost ours for as long as 7 days (ice storms) and it was pretty miserable. Gave me a whole new appreciation for our forebearers. All flood victims are in our prayers.
Way to Go Becky.....So Glad For You.....
Woo hoo Becky! You and Lyle can leave your "honeymoon" camper for awhile, LOL! Wolfie, got your postage mailed off today so you should get it soon. Donna, I found some of the paints you suggested for my gnomes...I just bought a $8.00 kit that had little tubs of every color they make, so I'm looking forward to relaxing and painting some.
Billie... on the farm in TN we were out for about a week too, BUT that was COLD.. being without power so I know what you N girls mean there too!! We shoved that generator to all the barns so the pigs could get feed, and then back to the house at night... not fun there either..lol
cat.. I know all about where you were off 225!! My Daddy had a paper route in that area when I was young.. "the Houston Post.." andI got up at 3 AM to help deliver them a lot in the summer, and on weekends! We'd set up at Cains furniture in Pasadena .. roll them .. that was back in the day you did it by hand with string..lol.. and be on our way My Aunt still lives on Thomas off Red Bluff
Seeing all these names pop up is like having a trip down memory lane! LOL I used to walk to the store at the end of Thomas during the summer. My dad would bring back pop bottles they'd collected on the side of the roads (he was Highway Dept forman), and tell us to take them to the store and cash them in. We had to get him a pkg of cigarettes and then we could split whatever money was left. There was always enough for us to get 3 or 4 kinds of candies each. Now, I understand he had it planned that way!
Small world isn't it!
cat... nooooo!!!..lol did you know any Crosby's?? That is my aunt and uncle!! They only had 5 living kids... surely you knew one of them... speaking of bottles.. we still have a big ol box full in TN.. I bet you can't even get rid of them now.. brings back sweet memories for me too!! We had the paper route in the next subdivision.. can't remember the names of the streets though.. oh Ramsey.. Wentworth.. I think??..LOL
Karen.. you are going to have fun ..I love to paint!!
TY girlies.. I am sooo glad it's back on! I have been shampooing the den.. I didn't tell ya'll that a shelf broke the day after the storm and bunches of my canned stuff hit the floor.. spreading glass and potatoes.. and squash pickle everywhere... ewwwie!! Nasty.. but looking better. I have to take a break just about every hour on the hour..lol I am getting tooo old for all this work..LOL
BTW.. where's Bonnie?? Sure hope she didn't make the boss mad!! and Peg?? hmmm

What a mess to have to clean up, but at least you guys are ok. That's what's important
oh Clemen you trying to get us lost on those threads? lol Well I had my MRI and that was a little freaky being stuffed into a coffin!
Louise, we need you around and positive thinking ok girl, besides the mail man took your miracle paella powder to you this morning, so chin up girl!
Thank You to all of you for all the great info you all give. I posted awhile back of how I put WAY to many Brug's in a tiny spot. Not a good idea. However I did have three I kept in pot's and this one Daybreak has taken off. I've alway's kept her on my deck but with all the wind she has went over several time's. Had to put her in the garage till the wind calmed down. However I lost several bud's trying to get her in and out. Decided to just put her on my front porch which isnt really enough room but she's staying now cause she's way to big to keep moving back and forth. I'm thrilled and owe it all to all of you and your good info. Thank You all so much.
Wow she's beautiful Terri!!!
Terrijean, I have a tall one on my deck that used to do the same thing but I tied her to the railing and it hasn't happened since. She has really bloomed for me this year too.
I need to share something with you all...I just found out this morning I am expecting again...
You personally or DS/DD?

Hi Terri and that is great!!! Karen you brat!!! ROFL
HAHAHA, in a teasing mood tonight....I was going to wait and let you all comment before I told the truth but I couldn't stand it, haha! Lord no, I just got my two raised and had a hysterectomy 10 years ago. After Ike got the very first bloom I watched it turn pink as it lay on the ground. I'm pretty sure it's a MEM that Maggidew gave me.
WTG Terrijean...!!! Beautiful!! You learned more than I have..lol soooo many blooms!!
Karen... what kind of expecting are you?? I am almost afraid to ask any further..LOL
