I think I might have some, back in the days before DG (this year), I hardly ever labeled anything. I need to look at a pix.
I’m a terrible Nana I resorted to allowing a movie, I’m beat and my back has had enough.
Earlier today Siobhan was watering the flowers, she does it literally.
She's About To..........#17
Phyllis, Tom is just gorgeous.
No I haven't tried Casablanca...but will add it to my want list...
I ordered Yellow and White Stargazers 3 years ago and didn't find them yet....LOL
I dug up every Stargazer bulb I had planted in beds and Planted them around my patio and if their there i'll find them...LOL
I've been away since I planted them so I haven't seen them bloom...Some bulbs were too crowded so they didn't bloom...We'll see....
I'll share wid ya Darkmoon, but I am not sure I did it right. I took a paint brush, loaded it with pollen from wherever I could see it inside the flower and then painted it onto the end of what I thought was the Stigma, but I just looked again and I think it was the antler. So I went back out with the paint brush just now and put the pollen on everything I could see inside the flower. Oh my, lily_love Kim will be so ashamed of me. I have to go find her and confess☻
HAHAHA Cat☺I sorta was givin you a hard time back☺that is why I like it here on this thread so well,I trust all you Hotties enough to do it here. I don't get that sick sensation that I might have said something wrong or offensive☺☺
AuntB,you is driving me crazzy wid dat kinda talk☺☺You and KimBob have got to get together and help this Hottie and Cat do it right.Swelling? What part swells if it took? I just tried it for the first time this AM so I have no idea what I am doing☻
What a great idea to cross Brugs to get smaller varieties. If you are successful in doing that, I can't wait to see the results and have smaller Brugs too☺
Bummer! not one pic of the beautiful Stargazer Lily this year. Here are Asiatics,I can't remember the name, they bloom in late June, way ahead of the Stargazer☼I used to have wonderful yellows like yours Donna, but they just never came back after a couple of years.Great pic of Siobhan enjoying the power of the Lily☺
Posy your clematis is beautiful...Jacamani?? I thought mine died but it came back...
Beautiful Lilies...
One of my Trumpets topped off at 6'8" this year..It's suppose to be Amyethyst Temple...But I'm thinking not..
Bought a Pink Perfection and Amazon Queen..(Yellow) Trumpets..hey the Casablanca would fit in with it...Bogie Themed bed...LOL
And they have buds on them now...but don't know if there's enough time for them to bloom...
Amyethyst Temple

Was just thinking of you Becky and wondering where you were...
Guess cleaning up that mess....
I should be out digging and cleaning too...
Phyllis, beautiful A.Temple and yes,you know your Clematis☺It is having a small second blooming this past week☼
I will try to get the recipe from Mom for the cake, but man oh man it is hard to get recipes out of her☻it isn't that she won't share, but she never writes them down and carries a Gazillion recipes in her head. She is 87 and is a bundle of energy, always on the go. It took me years to get her pinned down to write her recipe out for Icicle Pickles, but Oh they are the best I ever tasted☺
I found the thread on the Internet of all places that tells how to pollinate Brugs. Dgers are the best source, a great tutorial☺ Go to Classic threads and scan down to Brugmansia pollination...101.
Posy I tried the pollination thing earlier this season and nothing yet, maybe now that all of the brugs are blooming at the same time, just maybe, I'll get lucky!
Nice to hear from you Beckie!
Donna, what a cutie you have in your hands!
And I love those lillies too!
Back to work almost time to go. See you all tonight
Daylilies need sun, right? Man oh man....I don't have a single one and now I want some....I want some of everything!!!! Guess I'll have to start looking for some inexpensive ones. What time of year do you plant them? Back to work in the yard, love ya'll
I agree Posy. We don't have to walk on egg shells in here! Just for the record, flirting is ok, as long as you include everyone else. We have to be entertained you know!!!
Wolfie, is DW not into flowers like you? Bring her in here and introduce her!
I’m back pedaling a bit for AuntB. You don’t have to dig holes to plant lily bulbs. They prefer to be up high, no wet feet for these guys. I just dump a pile of dirt (any kind top soil even) with a little peat mixed in about 10” high. Plant the lilies 6” deep in either fall or early spring and voila pretty flowers with very little back breaking work. I do use a little bone meal when putting the bulbs in. After that they need very little care, my kind of yard flower. Out of the hundreds of lilies I have all over the place, very few are planted under ground level.
Got to go, movie is over, bath time and then we are off to visit.
Karen DL do much better in full sun, plant now until frost or anytime after frost in spring (if you get frost down there). I do have several in dappled shade; they flower but do not grow big.
I'm sure enjoying all the lily talk. So there's Asiatic and Oriental? What's the diff? Been kinda busy here today, but I'm trying to stay at it and be able to keep up... Posy, lovin your pics, and a water garden, too! Donna, nice to have you checking in when it's possible... You girls have a fun trip, and I sure hope you get some bonding time with Aidan today. Best wishes to his mommy and daddy. And Becky and Clemen checking in and dear Cat, too! Phyllis, nice to see you here today, your yard sounds lovely.. Donna love the pics, but if your too tired tonight for more newborn pics, I'll try to understand ;) Guess I need to go find the classic Brugs 101 thread, thanks Posy... the swelling will be the seed pod... the flower falls away from the stem and there is a little "node/knob?" at the bottom end of the stem, the node will start getting bigger if it was pollinated...it will take a few months to ripen. Yes, I would love to meet Mrs. Wolfie... I bet she's a very dear lady. So is she the mechanic? lol Just teasing you Wolfie... that's another wonderful thing about our thread, we are great kidders. I hope ya'll know (I think you do) I mean nothing hurtful by it. Gotta work :(
Donna, have you ever got lily bulbs in the late fall and not planted them until the following spring? If so, how do you store them?
I think the Asiatics are mostly bolder colors and the Orientals have the aroma. They have Orienpets too. A cross between Orientals and something else. Trumpets?
I know your not talking to me...but I usually store them in a cool dark place or the fridge No apples though cause I heard they can ruin them??
Nows the time to check the stores..Walmart...Home Depot..Lowes..etc cause you can pick some up pretty cheap on clearence.....If their not all gone....If the pots look empty or dead no problem cause they grow from the rhinesoms or bulbs....
Oh, my gosh, Cat, Orienpets... I think I'd like the aroma ones best, but I'm NOT getting into yet another flower addiction! I can barely support the ones I have now! Pretty Eddie Murphy, I mean Ed Murray, Phyillis... here's a link to the Brug Pollination 101..
edited to correct my link... sheesh! Thanks Hottie Karen!

Phyllis, thanks for the tips, NOT that I'm looking for any ;)
Oh Bonnie, you gotta try some of the Orientals. The smell really will knock your socks off!
Bonnie honey, I can't get that link to work? I agree, I do now understand why so many are crazy about the daylilies, but I don't think I'll get more than a couple...I plan on feeding my Brug addiction well this year, LOL!
Hey you guys converted me now i'm trying to convert you's....
I have a 10X20 deck right off my bedroom that is gonna be my own private oasis for tropicals only....
And I have a spare room right next door to winter them in.....
How tall is Pixie lilsista?
Cat...I think anywhere from 12 to 18" tall maybe alittle taller...
They multiply fast..
I just bought 2 peach ones cause I love them in front of the taller ones and behind the DL"s
And they started growing when I planted them so they have buds too..
Lav....Your making my list bigger...LOL
Beautiful....Now I know what to do with my hollyhock seeds....
I do have a new stargazer waiting to be planted.. thanks for the easy tips, Donna-need all the help I can get... and I would like the casa blanca... they would both be oriental, then? Oh, Phyllis, your little plan is working... enabler! lol
I fixed the link to pollinating brugs... Karen, thanks again... I hope no one was able to skan my private d-mail - told Louise that's what I get for cheatin' at work... I'm sure my getting jiggy with the paint brush didn't work... but I still have blooms so I will study up on the 101 thread and give it a go again... Thanks posy, I knew that was around here somewhere, but I couldn't find it... seems our little Angels Kimbob and revived it for us!
AuntB put it somewhere where you can sit next to it....cause they sure do smell pretty....
Well 101 won't help me if you don't have any blooms...
Maybe next year though....
Casablanca isn't easy to find. I finally found them in Wayside Gardens and Bluestone Perrenials.
Yep! When I saw the seal of approval from KimBob, I knew I was in the right place☺I feel really confident to try it again. Got my lil paint brush(sable) ready to go☺
Great pics all you Hotties☺don't know how I survived all these years without you☼◄
Oh pretty Louise! I see Phyllis has recruited you... ;) Karen, you CAN have and feed more than one addiction! Plus the lilies are hardy, no fuss, no muss... leaves time for brug fussing.. (did I say that?? Phyllis!!! it's all her and Louise's and Donna's and Posy's and Cat's -all you hotties talkin lilies and postin lily pics fault) I think Wolfie started it all and so, Wolfie, just look what you did, enabler. Karen, NO on the balut.. I saw balut on the tv program Fear Factor a few years ago... I couldn't smell them, let alone put it in my mouth and then chew???! ewe.
AuntB, you rock☺I am going back over to 101 and wave at all you Hotties☺
Posy, we're so glad you found us. I'm going to brug study hall.. talk to you later... Hi Clemen, hope we are on at the same time tonight... and you get a little DG time to chat.
Hello Hotties, and wolfie welcome to the addicted group of bruggies! WOW, I have foot surgery on Friday, and it takes me till now to find you all, and catch up on the reading... Wolfie, love all your brugs and flowers.
Becky, sorry to hear of your damage to your place. Hope you get it all cleaned up and repaired soon.
We had no damge here from the storm, it all stayed and went north and east.
Please take care.
I will be lurking for awhile, till I can catch up on all the threads
Linda Kay
They have them at www.johnscheepers.com
along with 4 different pixies...
I've been drooling over the catalog I got...
Pretty reasonably priced but you have to buy them in lots of 5 and spend at least $35
They sure are pretty...
Are they considered purple or blue..
I just planted blue ones for a surprise for my DH come spring...
All we've ever had was purple/white and yellow ones..
I put them in front of where he parks....
Oh posy that IS scrumptious lol. I found casa blanca at walmart of all places and put in a bunch last fall. I have some black beauties too...I love those! No smell though. Yelloween has a very strong lovely smell. Posy my Irises are only so so here. I do not have enough sun for them. I am considering putting them streetside though and see how they do. I have this huge planter I am still working on. Previous owner put it in and had twenty year old yucky carpet juniper in it. My husband is still emotionally scarred from helping me remove it...that was hard! This is it this year...winding down for the season. The stick like stuff is spent beebalm I have not cut down yet.
