they say the strongest will be here in about an hour hour 1/2 ...so If i go away I'll be back when power comes on and will call Jaye if I can't get online or have some one in DG from over by Dallas post for me.

I had a problem with my youngest son... he had to move home after finding himself living in a ditch due to a drug habit.

I was single, and had already gone through hell with him, and wasn't about go there again.
Here's what he had to do to come back home.

1... I took the door off his bedroom, and he had to earn it back.
2... He had to be out of the house at 7am every morning looking for a job...
3... If he gave me any indication he was doing any drugs or drinking while living at my house, not just in my house, but while I'm housing him... that meant his attitude, sleeping habits, work habits, and all the signs of drug use... then he had to leave... lock stock and barrel... no second chances.

Well, he found a job... and in 6 months he earned his door back... but the 8th month, he had to leave... ended up on the street again... but he learned that I meant what I said....
He returned, and got serious about straightening up... he believed me then.

ok winds are picking up and I am gettin kicked off the internet so guess it is time to take a nap or something LOL

They are saying it will be here in about an hour to an hour and a half so will talk at y'all later

Hello Sisters. I am here and doing OK, I have my foot propped, and as long as I take my vicadin, I am doing OK.
I can't sit for long at the computer, but I just wanted to pop in to say HEY!!!!

Sorry, I had to skip over most of the thread to get here, but I love all the brug pictures, and CIndy, I love those pet pavers. How talented you are.

Cindy Laura would love the directions for some of your Halloween crew! Halloween is one of their favorite holidays. Her DH turns the same age as her DSD when Halloween approaches!!!!!!!!!!

There is hope for some of tho.se with the Drug/Alcohol problem. One of my nephews had real problems for several years. Was in and out of several halfway houses... He ended up on the street and my mother took him in...he fell off the wagon again and it was tearing mom apart. I finally called our associate Pastor (my nephew really liked him) . Pastor Don told them he had 3 days to pack up leave, go to his dads, or back to the halfway house or out on the street but he had to be out of moms house! He went to his dads for a few days then back to his halfway house, his mentor there was really good. The kid finally got his life together.....been clean for six years, kept his job, bought a house and a new truck. Just started his own cabinet making business last month. It took a lot heartbreak and a lot of prayers and it looks like he has finally made it. He finally got to go back and see his Mom, SD and brothers this year.....my sis didn't want around the younger boys until he got himself straightened out. He will be here the end of the month for moms 80th Birthday.....we have a lot to celebrate this year!

I guess the message is it takes tough love and a lot of prayers but don't give up because there is always hope....

Definitely look for monkey molds of any kind!!!!!! Laura and I would definitely like to come up with fudge monkeys for her DH!!!

The damage they are showing in Galveston and Houston is just heart breaking!!! Our prayers continue for everyone down that way!!

The fudge looks like it has a face, just where the nuts are placed, and the wrinkle from the bag it was in.
It is chocolate caramel fudge, and it is soooooooooo good.

Hate to rub it in ........ but ........ I've had Cathy's fudge and it is yummy! She came to the RU I hosted this past May and brought fudge for everyone. She brought some for door prizes too. Guess which door prizes were the most popular??????

We're back...and missed the whole thing :'(
On our way, the alternator went out on us!! Had to call a wrecker friend to pick us up. We were an hour away from home.
Thank God, didn't cause any accidents on the highway..
Kel says, that's one way to save gas... via the wrecker!!

Oh well.. will just have to see Carolyn tomorrow.

Actually nowhere in USA is safe.. if not hurricanes, it's earthquakes or tornados.

I've been in several typhoons and way too many earthquakes and none of them are any fun. My Aunt and Uncle in Oklahoma lost their place to a tornado several years ago, and my second cousin had a lot of damage in the Moore tornado. At least with typhoons and hurricanes you have enough warning to get out of the worst of it, sometimes with Tornadoes, but the earthquakes, while very short don't give you any warning!!!

I just get worried when I mail something is all....

I made a pot roast today and the slow cooker is almost done-I can't wait!! I am so sick of frozen crap-I needed something good and warm-it has been so poopy here the last couple days...I need a new craft/puter chair-my back is KILLING me from being in this one for the past couple days crafting and chatting....

You are so right about the earthquakes Trisha. Years ago, when Indonesia had an earthquake, neighbouring countries felt it and some buildings were affected. Never experience typhoons and don't want to!

AH Stacey, now you know how I felt when I sent Marions B-House and she had left for Canada. All I could see was that box rolling all around her property. She has neighbors that pick up her mail for her when she is going to be out of town. It's probably with them. That's where my b-house was.

Typhoon, Hurricane.....same thing different ocean different name......don't like them whatever you call them! I Taiwan our hotel room was on the 11th floor and I was petrified. I kept telling my DH that the building was moving and he kept tellin' me I was full of @#@*.......it was three months before he told me that he had gone into the bathroom right after that and the water was sloshing from side to side in the toilet bowl!!!!

Me either!!! I mean I have seen what was called a straight line wind come and take a roof off, but the worst storm I have been through was snow and ice.

I was in one of those Kim, we got caught in a blizzard in the mid west, couldn't even see the truck right in front of us, we were lucky we made it into a truck stop without getting killed...I prefer to see where I am going!! Have enough trouble with that without having snow and ice to deal with!

Holy crap-I woulda really peed myself then!!!

I had to drive my 40 miles to work every day this last winter through white outs and ice and sleet and 6" of snow-I would leave my house at 3am to get there by 5:30.....told DH I couldn't do that again and would rather be jobless or get fired then do that again!! My boss told me when I tried to call her that I wasn't coming in that "I chose to live and work where I did, so if it took me 3 hrs to get to work in the am, then that is what I had to do"...
