Spirit of this swap:
This is actually an easy swap for ALL of us here. We know each other well... so there should be no problems at all in coming up with that 'special' ringing in 2009 gift for any of us. And if we don't, there's plenty of time to do so.
It doesn't have to be restricted to crafts, can be anything .. that plant you know which will grace your buddy's garden and bring a smile when it starts blooming .. or even a jar of very much sought after preserves that will delight your sistah in the mornings or at tea time.
Not seeking commercial nor monetary value on the gift.
Just a gift that says: "I am glad you are my Sistah and with this, I wish you the best for 2009".
NOTE: You don't have to join the swap to enjoy this thread.

♥Sweet Interruption♥ 24
Good Morning,
How is everyone this a.m.?
Good day today to pull out those scraps, Phyllis. I got strips to start another--
Morning.
I'm here... Morning Cindy.
Morning Cindy, it's comforting to see Phyllis and BJ still here. Waiting on word from Joey. As long as she's out of harm's way, that's good news then.
Morning Tina Tia..
Joey is in Waco, and seems to have missed the storms wrath... I'm sure she's ok.
I cut out a lot of strips yesterday, mom has got her quilt going and she is looking to buy a quilting machine and table. We looked on ebay last night OMG the cost. I really wish we knew a little bit about them so we could maybe make one ourselves.
I thought of getting one of those but don't have space, and hee hee heee.. too much for now. Have you looked into this Phyllis?

Thanks for the link, I think I will show it to mom this afternoon and see what she says. the ones we were looking at were like 3-14 k
I have a yellow brug also. But because I took cuttings off to send to oh I forgot her name, anyhooo it won't bloom because I guess I shocked it. It did bloom last summer though. I don't live in the right climate to be growing them. But I don't give up.
Look what I've been doing. I'm going to post them in the marketplace
OMG... that Charles Grimaldi is gorgeous...
HOW CUTE Cindy... what are the wings made out of?
Wood, These are patio pavers.
Those are "to die for" cute... you're sooooo talented.
Oh Cindy you have some great talent there, just to cute.
My Haloween swap buddy just might get one of these. They weigh 7lbs so it would be a costly box that I send.
Too too cute Cindy!!
Tina, Tia.. I know of this lady that invested in a Gammel, hoping her investment will pay off. But the rates she had to charge customers, scare them off. Unless you share the purchase cost with 2 other prolific quilters, then that will be doable.
A smaller bush, Valley Sunshine.
Pet Pavers Tina?? Brilliant!!!
I'm brugged out!!! There are very few that I could plant directly into the soil. The rest had to be in raised beds on account of the soil.
You know all the worries we go through trying to get that perfect plant? It helps knowing what you're doing by gathering info and applying. But I found this secret.. RELAX!!
As soon as I let go of my ocd on brugs, they do well for me. I had CG before I discovered the Brug mania here. Never thought there will be so much cultivars.

We can make one. I looked at some patterns online and think it is doable and we can have it as long as we want it. I sent mom the plans we will see when she wakes up, she is a night owl.
LOL Jaye this is my first quilt it is being made from square in a exchange we did about 4 yrs ago wtih material from all over the world
I picked the friendship star for the pattern and silly me made them a lil on the small side LOL but they are all cut into the triangle and squares needed along with the plain fabric to fill in ...LOL
am doing it by hand as doing them by machine puckers the points LOL..see I said first one will look into the link you sent too though
lil brighter out now raining lightly and breezy is all for now.
just started a loaf of bread in the machine, gotta go put sheets back on the bed adn get the tub cleaned up so I cna put water in it so I'll be back in a bit.
You know Tina..Tia.. I DOn't Care :D, Kel told me 3 years ago, he can do that Flynn model. Now he told me .. hun.. just order you one!!
I hate setting points. Good luck Phyllis!
Cindy, they are so cute! You are very good at painting. Nice shadowing, etc. THAT'S what I want to learn to do.
Deborah, glad you got a little nap. Mine will probably come this afternoon.
DH is bringing home Texas toast and eggs from his shopping trip. Will make french toast when he gets back.
Hey all you quilters - I've never quilted before and know I don't have the time to do the traditional kind, but am thinking about trying a quick rag quilt. Anyone ever done these? The directions sound fairly easy.
lol yea really, I am going to ask mom which way she wants to go, she will be ready to start quilting hers soon. But she is going to Switzerland Germany Paris and Milan in about 2 weeks. Maybe we can get it ordered and then it will be here when she gets back.
I would love to do a rag quilt where did you see the directions. I am going to do a crazy quilt as soon as we have enough scraps.
Ideal project for beginners Debra. You can do one with old jeans too.
Cindy-I saw those on the site I posted about the wood and thought those would be doable and easy to do-yours are just as cute as the catalog!! If you send one to your halloween buddy, make sure to use a flat rate-you might be able to get 2 in one for like $9.80, otherwise you will pay a fortune to mail them...what kind of glue did you use and waht kind of paints??
Morning ladies!!! Where is Marion this am-I know she has pics for us of boxes that were delivered to her!! I am getting antsy!!
LK-are you feelin OK today?? Post please so we know how your feeling:)
Where is Kathy-how is the chick doing??
Phyllis and BJ-sooooo glad you all are OK so far...

thanks Jaye :)
Hiya favorite niece. You must have slept well last night.
