She's About To..........#16

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Good morning Hotties! Still yucky here outside and healthwise. So staying put for awhile.

Question to ponder... It's the end of the growing season, we are moving things in and dreading winter, but....:)))

If you could have only one more plant this year, what would it be??

I'm thinking besides brugs, here. We all know the answer to that one. I just bought my one more (or actually 3!) Ever since I saw Bonnie's Escargot Begonia, that one has been on my list of really wants. So I ended up buying two others! Heh, they're house plants right, at least until it warms up again next summer. I am also patiently watching cuttings from two of my brugs right now to see if they'll take.

So, what would your 1 plant be?

Sandy, we cross posted. Beautiful picture of your young man and little one. I agree with the others, in time and with maturity, I think you and your daughter will come to terms. We just keep loving them and know their lifes will change, just as all of ours did. Hang in there. I wish I was close enough to babysit. I adopt "grandkids" all the time since I don't have any of my own. I don't mind at all taking a little one for awhile to give mom, dad or grandparents a break. Though I will admit to spoiling them while I have them. :)

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Phyllis, you picked a georgous one! Good choice.

Carrollton, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Sandy - one day at a time - please, hehe

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Excuse me guys, I keep spelling gorgeous wrong and when I went back to edit, it said I had used up my edits.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

If I could plant 1 more plant it would be a rose.

(Cathy), MO

Mine would be one of those hydrangeas in the picture with Bonnie!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Peg, check your d-mail honey! I was up and showered and re-bandaged before 7:30 - then no internet ! ?! waited till a bit ago and called DS, dam surge protected got switched off! I'm trying to catch up.. Phyllis, I want to come play in that stream with those adorable little girls, how fun!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Mornin girlies...

Welll we aren't leaving. The NH is NOT evacing the residents, even though we are under the mandatory evac...they say they can't get any buses.. soooooo we are staying. They have generators, so I am relieved on that. We also have a generator, and of course the camper... if the lights go out

So I am happy in one way..LOLI'll still be here with all my hottie friends!!..Love ya'll!! I'll catch up later...

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Okay, I'm just jumping in here. Beck, stay safe... sounds like you are prepared as possible.. (((Becky))) One plant?? Let's see, it's not a prickly rose ;) I say a clerodendrum.. I killed the one that has blooms that look like white musical notes and killed cuttings of one whose blooms look like a blue butter-fly... but I will keep trying till I figure them out..

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Cat, remember I have two hydrangeas that are getting ready to be shipped elsewhere if they do not shape up. If no blooms next spring, they will be finding a new home. All the oldtimer gardeners tell me they need to be on a northern exposure, which I do not have because of my driveway, so I'm trying to fake it for next year, but maybe they would be happier in MO. :))

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Karen, it makes me sad you are sick. Such a beautiful person like you, (inside and out) shouldn't ever hafta feel like that.. Louise, I wonder too, why we don't have a "singles forum". What better place to hook up with people with the same interests? But alas, I'm NOT looking, just seems simpler to be single. lol Ya know what I mean, I'm sure! Like you, the 19 years I made it with the kids dad was mostly because I'm bull-headed and tried to honor my promises... but I knew if I stayed, I'd be dead by age 60, cause it's a lot of work to keep it going when only one person is trying and it felt like the burden was on only my shoulders. There is a part of him I will always keep in my heart, and I'm reminded of him through Drew all the time.. but it is a good part. A goofy laugh or facial expression... May he rest in peace.

(Cathy), MO

I forgot what kind they are Peg? And yes, MO seems to like hydrangeas!

Starting on my inventory list this evening! Are we still posting Sunday at 2?

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Cathy, I know one of them is Endless Summer, the other one all I remember is Lace Cap.

The sun peeked out, so I went and got some pictures. Maybe I can divide them when I move them and get some to your earlier. Here's a closeup...

Hey Hotties! It's too hard for me to choose just one plant. I do have this beautiful pink and white phlox but I guess it would have to be a rose. Billie the kid is coming for his kid so I may be able to catch up on my yard work. It is just gorgeous today. Been out taking pictures of Amiyah. She is now being stubborn and won't look at the camera. B R A T. LOL Of course I don't call her that but.....

Please stay as safe as you can for everyone in the path of Ike.

Now that is one pretty MG. :)) Now come one, everybody has to name just one, please??

Louise could you grow the lemon, lime or orange in your area to bear fruit?

Joyce and Sandra, what kind of rose? Knockout, climbing, tea, floribunda, grandiflora or minature? :))

I laid down and could not get my brain to quit jumping all over creation, so now I'm back to bug ya'll.

I am feeling for my hurricane sista's. It is so sad that here was one of the absolutely perfect days of late summer and I have to watch y'all go through all this. Outside of being outside most of the day, I have had CNN on and it is beyond comprehension.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

That is one nice morning glory Louise, ty for the link although it was not meant for me.

My prayers with all of those hotties close to the storm, specially my Beckie! It looks pretty scary over there!

All you Hurricane Hotties,be safe and post when you can☺It has been raining off and on all day.We are expected to get heavy rains from Ike as he works his way North and East next week☻what a monster.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello all! Just checking in, the bronchitis feels much better today, but new developments show the eye of the storm passing right through the area I live in, sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening. They have issued only voluntary evacuation in my county, unless if you live in a mobile home it's mandantory. I live in the Palestine, Tx area and it is running a straight path from Palestine, through my town, and on to Corsicana Tx. The storm will have slowed considerably they believe by the time it reaches us, so although we may suffer wind/rain damage it won't be the deadly kind. I am stocked up and feel safe where I am so don't worry about me. (unless I lose electricity and my A/C, then you can really worry, haha!) I am bringing my elderly aunt (90) to spend the weekend with me.

If I could just have one more plant this season, it would be a Haight Ashbury Hibiscus....Gorgeous! Love you all, Karen

Evening Hotties,

That storm is a monster, it may not be high on the category scale but it is enormous. It looks like it is going to do some major damage. I know you all are doing all you can, but please stay safe.
Karen, glad you are feeling better, I get that all the time too and it’s a pain in the ###.
Peg, you still need to be resting, pneumonia really takes a lot out of ya. If I could get one new plant I would get a Banana like yours. BTW, I loved you poem.
Clem, beautiful mooney, I had one so far but lots are coming.
Becky, you’re too funny, all that wind and rain coming at you and what do you think about… Cheetos. I love it, and I love Cheetos too.
Kim, beautiful swinging burggies. It’s raining here to so I didn’t get to enjoy them tonight. All three Ecuador Pinks are getting ready to put on a good show.
AuntB, hope that tootsie it feeling better today. It’s a gonna smart for a while yet.
Cat, congrats on the DD buds, I want to see her so that frost is just going to have to hold off. My DD is to small this year for flowers so you’re has to make it.
I loved all the pix of the beautiful babies and family and the animals too. I haven’t had a lot of time to post but I’ve been able to keep up with the viewing at work.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Kim love that picture, so pretty!!! The lighting is perfect! I can see my brug buds from the deck now and they are hanging downward!! Yay!! Still small though...

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Wind here is picking up now. My trees are dancing in the wind.....lol...
