Try west of Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Bon. Got more daylilies to plant and am not looking forward to soggy grounds.
I've never tried those tabs Bon.
Joey, take good care now....thanks for popping in, we needn't worry about you and the Zman. In no time at all, you'll be back to your lovable chatty self.
You too Sis. The only thing that works for me now for my sinus is Xyzal.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I will go back to sewing and check in a little bit later see if she made it back

Ooh so sorry to read that Audrey. Best thing for diarrhea is to boil some rice, and drink the liquids. All the carbo you need.
That's the remedy for folks in third world countries.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, so many of you getting sick. So sorry to hear that! I do hope your all feeling better real soon. Big hugs to you all.

darn - that looks like it might be a pretty artwork but I can't tell, it's too small - darn.

OK Sistahs - I'm the daughter of an Army nurse - now here this - get out your vitamins and your Vitamin C tablets and partake.

'course now, I did have a college professor that swore up and down that the very best cure for colds was a case of beer. Drink until you went to sleep, wake up, pee, and repeat, until cold is flushed out of your system. alcohol helps sterilize (hmmm) and put you to sleep so you don't care how sick you are.

Doctors told me a long time ago best thing for diarhhea was the same thing we'd do if a baby got it - keep a quart bottle of Pedialyte in your pantry if you are prone to it and drink that. I think Gatorade has same electrolytes, but so much more sugar. I keep Immodium tablets in my purse I get it so bad. Doc says stress causes my 'rhhea and reflux. well duh

Bon, dogs are the most wonderful people......ours was a foundling and she is the best dog we have ever owned, except she doesn't like other dogs!!!! I don't think I would have made it through some of my bouts with depression if it wasn't for that dog.

Hope would beg for pets from a serial rapist and cheek lick a murderer. LOL she is such a slut for affection. We've been told she was abused and most likely by a young male (human). We've had her since 11/2001, I think it was. She truly is the most hopeful animal ever, and I dicated her name from the first moment.

it's kinda fun. "hope?

HOPE!"

well, there's no hope.

where'd hope go?

Here comes Hope!

NO, Hope! Good Hope.

Bad Hope.

Hope dun up and left.

Have you got Hope?

Who's got Hope?

I don't have Hope.

Mom's lost Hope.

Dad's found Hope.

Someone lock Hope up before she leaves again.

That darn Hope, good for nuttin ruckle frettin....

Ah, sweet Hope.

Here's Hope!

as y'all can see, we have Hope at our house!

Raleigh, NC

My personal favorite,

there's no Hope....

I'll be gardening, she'll be "guarding me from those pesky rabbits" and i'll look up and she's gone.

Can't imagine not having a dog(s). We love ours so much and they love us back. Woody was a stray living off the land when we took him in this past April. And yes, he had that 'look'. He has a way of lifting his chin and looking so pitiful - just begging to be loved. He's a wonderful dog. Never met a human or other dog he didn't like.

Yes, our housing just went to a no pets policy, when these are gone we can't replace them so I will be moving then....I can't imagine life without my little furry people.....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Trisha, having no kids, our furry babies ARE our link to sanity!!
I can't fathom a day without one underfoot!

I'm a dog person from way back. ex gave me a little brindled afghan hound pup I named Merlin because his coat looked so mystical, like frosted black. Afghans are one person dogs, and ex was jealous. He abused Merlin behind my back until one day when Merlin was 7, he snapped at 2 yr old #1 daughter. I cried all the way, but took him to pound and paid to have him put down. Had heard afghans got vicious if abused or separated from their 1st master. The pound's young man took one look and pleaded for me to let him be adopted. He had not been neutered and was purebred. I'll bet he got put to stud somewhere. good for him! afghans like to sleep up high, they are sight hounds. I can still remember waking up and finding him atop me with all those knees and elbows digging in. I adored that dog, but he was DUMB.

I'd first given ex a mixed bred pup he named Blitz. One of best dogs ever, but after Merlin was gone, ex started in on him. Smart dog started climbing chainlink fence and leaving the yard 20 mins. before ex came home, then after dinner he'd come home and "knock" on the front door. I'd be at the sink window fixing dinner and see Blitz lying in the sun at our neighbor's front door across the street. finally the dog catcher caught up with him. I bailed him out of doggy jail, but he was just going to do it again. The neighbor took him, then took him out to a sheep rancher below Bonneville County ID. Darn it if he didn't learn within a month to be the best sheep dog ever seen. Think I paid $10 for Blitz. The farmer turned down an offer of $500 for him. Hope is not quite as smart as Blitz, but she is every bit as lovable.

Got smarter a few years later - got rid of the ex.

Sometimes animals are smarter than we are. Blitz was trying to tell you somethng, Bon! lol!

Just saw a report on Ike. Looks like the Houston/Galveston area is the (current) probable target. Anyone close enough to that area to be of concern?

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I think JOJO is the closet one down here to that area
All we may get in East Texas is rain from it if it comes up this way.

But then there are alot of others over in the Texas forum in Houston area.

Bottle of wine

A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold Monday morning; it's a bad one.

Both of their cars are totally demolished, but amazingly neither of them is hurt . God works in mysterious ways.

After they crawl out of their cars, the man is yelling about women drivers.

The woman says, 'So, you're a man. That's interesting. I'm
a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but we're unhurt .
This must be a sign from God that we should be friends and live in peace for the rest of our days'.

Flattered, the man replies, 'Oh yes, I agree completely, this must be a
sign from God! But you're still at fault...women shouldn't be allowed to drive.'

The woman continues, 'And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune.'

She hands the bottle to the man. The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman.

The woman takes the bottle, puts the cap back on and hands it back to the man.

The man asks , 'Aren't you having any?'

The woman replies, 'No. I think I'll just wait for the police....'

Why couldn't Ike just turn and go south --a long ways down!!!! Well I guess that means a trip this Thursday for a board meeting. Oh well so be it.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I agree with ya there Ike can go south and stay south !!!!

Stacy the saw could be as above scroll saw or band saw and or a skill saw...just depends on the cuts and what you are making.
but then I have been known to sue things not made for a certain job to do it when I don't have what is needed anyway LOL

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OK-so a saw!!LOL OK-I will tell DH;)

Phyllis, sleep tight and thanks for the dmail!!
Kel was highly amused!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Stacey, my mom did a LOT woodworking, country crafts etc. she had a scroll saw, wouldn't do all she wanted got rid it and got a table saw, a chop saw, a band saw, Jig saw....and used them all to death. At 80 she has given up the table saw and the chop saw.....occasionally uses the jig saw but would never ever part with the Band Saw!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

OMG..what can you do with that itty bitty chain saw??? Never mind...don't answer it!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

WHY? What on earth would need to saw with a chain saw that small?.. had to think about that for a while... and couldn't come up with a thing.

Don't get too excited, Phyllis... that storm cell passed over us on its way to your house... we didn't get enough to get the soles of our shoes wet when we went out after it stopped. *sigh*... I know, sounded nice, anyway.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)
