I do try to put them in an envelope and write down what I remember the plant and bloom looked like... but sometimes it all gets lost in the translation... so, I have oodles of mystery seeds.
♥Sweet Interruption♥ 21
LOL I so hear ya. I will be going up to moms in a few weeks and her and I will fill up a 5 gallon bucket with seeds. I am going to revamp her garden next month and get her some different varieties in there, thanks to a very wonderful person here who is sending me some things to do her garden up for her.
sounds like a new swap, mystery seeds. then the fun will be post pics and getting answers to what they are.
my newest quest is to figure out what to companion plant wtih roses. since my DD is engaged and they are talking spring and MY BACK YARD I need to get things in shape as much as possible as cheap as possible LOL..so I'm gonna start a few of the seeds to figure out what they are in the back room so I can start more this winter to put out and be growing come spring.

Good morning all. Hope your doing well today, sorry to hear of jojo and zeke having strep throat. That is not fun at all. get well soon!
Linda Kay
I"m back - I had so many irises all over the living room, someone got upset his sofa wasn't available for his ususal fall 2nd quarter nappy time during the 1pm football game. LOL
break time had to come in and print out another copy of the pattern so I have one for soldering and one for grinding.
ohhh Iris'?????? I hope to someday find all the ones my grandma had and make a iris bed wtih them all in it...I found her list in the back of her garden journal that I have LOL
When you get the zinnia head, you have to kinda flick your finger or thumb though it to get the seeds, so kinda like shellin:)
Shame on you Bonnie-taking up the nap space!!LOL
Headed out for a bike ride, hope all are well and that JoJo and Zeke are on the mend!
Later...
Trisha!
I have been so remiss! I recieved your wonderful birdhouse and cards. Did you make those? And the house? All of it is absolutely stunning!! I willpost pics on the bb thread as soon as I can find my camera. House was a still disorganized when the company came and then DH has been in charge of cleaning for the last few days...and well things are still kinda ummm scattered!
I ate some soup and took a little couch nap so I think today is going to be pretty good. Still a little headachey so may go lay down on the couch again for a while. Reading the PC screen hurts....
You're alive Joey!!!! PTL (Praise The Lord)..
So sorry to read you and Zman are under the weather. Take it easy please cause we want you around for a long long time.
Bonnie, tell your DH that the floor is good for him. Irises take priority over our comfort ;) Lol!!
Oh, my... it's so good to see JoJo's name up here again... sure did miss you sistah...
I do hope you and Zekey are all back to your old selves again real soon. Eat some more soup... rest your eyes... and take another nap every chance you can... but check in with us now and then so we don't worry... ok?
Yah.. don't forget to put BJ's number on speed dial ;)
I think she would have answered, or called me back if she could have used her voice... poor thing, must be the hardest part not being able to talk... bet it's quieter at her house than it's been in years.
Guess I have to get some zinnias growing to know what the seed heads look like. I think zinnias are so pretty, and I will have them all over my garden next year.

My day is complete--JOJO had emerged!! So sorry to hear you and Zeke have been/are sick but are on the mind. Should I make some chicken soup and send to you? I am really good at boiling a chicken--it's what follows I have trouble with.
Living wreaths are all that time consuming once they have been assembled. Just keep the ivy (or whatever viney thing you use) damp and feed occasionally. More or less takes care of itself and then you have a wonderful wreath. Purple and gold Jaye? Honey you need you eyes checked---garnet and gold gotd for sure. Must admit that is the cutest Walmart ad with the people wearing LSU shirts!!
Put purple and gold ornamnents or adornments on the wreath--wala: purple and gold.
Check back in later, promised myself would fold all my laundry that has been accumulating for the past XXXXX weeks.
Our eyes are fine thank you, Maid Marion :P Garnet and gold are truly not the rage right now!!
Well, when we thought we'd be hit by Hanna, that's the first thing I did to get prepared. Laundry! Just to make sure Kel has plenty of clean underwear and socks!
You're right Marion. Laundry has a life of its' own. It grows when you leave the house for a few days ;)
Hello Ladies,
I have a question about the wreath, centerpiece swap thing? Will there be special rules as to what a centerpiece has to include?
Cindy, I think Debra will be hosting the swap (Fleursdefouquet). Hope she comes along and answer that for us :D
I think it is supposed toe be holiday themed-either thanksgiving or Xmas-I would dmail Debra.....
STAY ALERT!
They walk among us... and the scary part is that they
VOTE and REPRODUCE and our enemies know it!!!

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a "large" enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, "Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower."
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said,
"NO, it's not." Four is larger than two.."
We haven't used Sears repair since.

My son and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter.
She said, "you gave me too much money." I said, "Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back." She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back
the quarter, and said Were sorry but they could not do that kind of thing."
The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change.
Do not confuse the clerks at McD's.

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: "Too many deer are being hit by cars out here!
I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore."

My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for "minimal lettuce." He said he was sorry, but they only had iceburg lettuce.

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, "Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?"
To which I replied, "If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?"
He smiled knowingly and nodded,
"That's why we ask."

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged coworker of mine. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red. Appalled, she responded, "What on earth are blind people doing driving?!"

At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear coworker. She was leaving the company due to "downsizing." Our manager commented cheerfully, "This is fun.
We should do this more often." Not another word was spoken. We all just looked at each other with that deer-in-the-headlights stare.
This was a lunch at Texas Instruments.

When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our
car, we were told the keys had been locked in it.
We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. "Hey," I announced to the technician, "its open!" His reply, "I know. I already got that side."
This was at the Ford dealership in Canton, Ohio

OMG-those are too funny!! I have met those people!!
That is so funny... I love your "they walk among us" posts...
I got one for ya...
When my kids were young, we were at a friends house, and all inside visiting when it started raining...
I told my 9 yo son "Bobby, run out and roll up the car windows, quick"...
He asked, "ok, are the doors locked?"
We all bout fell out of our chairs..
Poor Bobby... I bet you'd never let him forget till now.
Oh, he takes it pretty well... for a red neck.
JoJo, I've gotta run and will catch up later just wanted you to know I am happy that the house made it. Yes I made the house and the cards. Glad you like tem, but most of all we are so glad you are back with us and hope you are both feeling better soon....we've missed you dear!!
Definitely Purple and Gold, Go Huskies!!!
What did you expect from McDonalds? Laura's DSD's mother works for MD!!!
Jaye, those idiot sightings are too funny!
Tia, I thought I didnt' grow zinnias because they mildew here so bad. But, having to 'shell' tiny seeds is an even better excuse! You sure have more patience than most!
Cindy, about the wreath/centerpiece swap ...... it started as a Thanksgiving themed swap, morphed into a Christmas themed swap, added swags, etc. The OFFICIAL SWAP RULES will be: make whatever you enjoy making or would be appropriate for the timeframe in which you mail it. LOL! It's your choice!
Joey, sorry you and Zman had strep. That's the pits. Had it last year for the umpteenth time. It really knocks you down for a few days. Is the little man doing better?
Joyce, glad to hear your dad is doing well. Didn't know he had surgery. 90 huh? Congrats to him! My DFIL is almost 93 and constantly amazes me.
Need a bath and a pinot grigio. Later ....
Oh goodness I had nothing better to do than sit in the house at the computer and chat with you gals :). I just love being outside when it is not hot and I was thinking anyways. So I like to do something that doesnt need thought about when I am thinking. Did that make sense. When i said shelling, I have to take the leaves off of the cones, that is easy its the zinnias that have a full moon shape and all but the center is the dried flower, again did that make sense. Chickens were right under me when I was flicking the leaves and the "shell" of the seed.(the bottom part) They had a good treat.
mm is it safe you were thinking??? LOL
I take it you know how to walk and chew gum at the same time if you can think and shell seeds ...hehehe just teasing.
I thought about going to bed early as I am going to be gone all day on field trips and since the guys are watching the foot ball games and have been all day but I know my DH if I do that he will be sure to wake me up when he comes to bed by the noise he makes in the room alone then he will talk about who knows what....why is it when we go to bed after they do we don't do that to them but they think it is okay to do that to us??????
ROFLOL Phyllis. It has been a while but oh I do remember those days. I would go to bed to read and leave him watching the football game. Next thing I knew--plop in bed with bedroom tv turned on. Oh well, I would do it all over again just to have him back so enjoy it!!!
Lolol Phyllis!!
I do that to Kel!!! He's always in bed first, and when I'm ready..I'd wake him up to let him know what's what.. and somehow he always respond!!
Oh dear.. I must not be that inconsiderate huh?
Oh I don't mind it when I am awake but I have enough trouble falling alseep and he knows that as I could sit here almost all night and not feel sleepy and I toss and turn for awhile after going to bed while he is out in a matter of seconds.
Is funny though in a way he comments about me being up at 4am for work and I should get some sleep yet he turns around and wakes me up just to talk LOL...when he has the whole day when I am home to talk LOL
If I knew where he put the soldering iron I would finish up the glass pieces but I have no idea where he put it and the light in the shed is not real good for looking for things in the dark LOL
Phyllis... get a swig of that 'medicine' in the cabinet..that would make you doze off fast!!
