I'm shooting 66% on knee surgeries. The left knee I blame on a bad doctor. I tore it a few times and went to see him two different times and he told me that it was just pain and swelling from "growing pains". my then coach, sent me to a specialist. I had the surgery 17 years ago to reapair a torn acl, lcl, pcl and remove a meniscus, It went great and to this day it's still going strong. I would do again in a heart beat. The first artheroscopic surgery was great, I do that one again as well. the last surgery was really bad, but I think that other factors had something to do with why it didn't work. So that's my rant on surgeries. you win some and lose some, and hopefully win more than you lose!
Garden Photos - Part 35
good to see you again seandor!
Seandor, I was thinking about you as DH is in Lithuania at a rowing regatta and called yesterday and said he had become friendly with a nice couple from Vancouver. I think they are trying to talk him into a visit. No talking needed. My Grandmother was from there. I haven't been in years. Time to go. Patti
Oh I am so dumb! I had some of those strange looking things on some daylilies and just cut away... I am a banana head... no question about that!
It's rainy now... finnally free water!
I found a dahlia.... don't remember how it got to where it is... I only planted one this year.... maybe it came from the compost pile??? no complaints...
kassia, if you can still get to your compost pile or where ever you through them, they are probably still good if it's only been a few days! I love that white dahlia.
Nice dahlia, Kassia. I'm not really a fan of dahlia's, but that one is very nice.
Karen
Hey, speaking of daylily proliferations, here is a link to some great info on them:

I'm doing fine so far. The 1st night (Thurs) was the worse - pain & mobility wise.
I couldn't get my painkillers until Fri morn so I had to rely on Advil. It helped.
The problem was getting out of bed to get to the bathroom. It was especially difficult since I have a cat that claimed the spot between the bedroom & bathroom doors as HIS spot. LOL!
I spent the better part of yesterday in the garden. I had my newspaper, puzzle book, phone, camera & phone so I was good to go.
I can't drive so Mom will be my chauffeur for church tomorrow.
Nancy
Well, Nancy, take it easy and relax. I know you will be itching to get back to gardening soon!
Karen
love that color rc
Thanks debilu and Good Morning. You're up with the birds as usual! How is the weather there now?
The storm missed us, just a couple sprinkles here. Further east got a lot of rain.
I'm west of Albany, I heard from Victor and Allison they got 5-7 inches of rain. They are both east of Albany.
Beautiful color theme, Shelly! We got about 4 1/2 inches and good amount of wind afterward. Still a bit gusty.
Willie - love your Christmas card!!
Nancy - take good care & recover quickly!! I hope you and JoAnn are up and about very soon! No fun! Don't rush things!!
Michaela - whereya been ??? Missed reading posts from you. How's your summer going?
Shelly - gorgeous!! Love those warm colors!
Kassia - that white zinnia is very pretty! I've become a fan of dahlias (begrudgingly because I still have to dig them all up now) from just having the red ones this year.
Patti - loved your collages and that zinnia!!!
I'm pretty much in Albany! Not sure how much rain we got but it rained ALL day. It was a warm rain though. Went to a pig roast that was held outdoors and went home pretty much soaked! The grass or should I say weeds are greatful for the rain they were just begging for water!
Pink Turtleheads are beautiful.
We are having light rains.
Jm looks nice, Bill. What size container? Did they recommend the size?
close up of the foliage
Victor i bought this at an Agway - while i was paying i referred to it as a butterfly - he told me no it was a JM - did not bother to ask about container size. the root ball was about 4" from the sides of this container - it is a big - i'll be putting the butterfly in the ground next spring - i will be buying on of those 2 week waters from gardeners.com to be safe
That's funny. You should have told him you saw it when it was still a caterpillar!
No blooms at all on my hyrdrangea. Thought maybe it was because I moved it in the spring?
How old / big is it? Is it a regular mophead? If last year was a cold winter, it will often kill the buds, which bloom on old wood.
My hydrangea only had 5 blooms, when last year it was covered. We did get a late cold spell here this past spring.
My mophead has bloomed once---4 years ago--I don't know why I keep it! It's in a wild area in the back, so I guess the birds hide in it. Loved all the dahlias--wish I could show some photos of mine that won at the fair today---but there WEREN'T any---8 flower entries---not a ribbon---did pick up a 3rd on one of my watercolors. Here is my large butterfly bush--should have entered those flowers!
ooohh, I was about to say congrats!!
Actually I can on the water color! Congratulations!
