Clemen, I always thought NY was colder than MO but I am zone 5 normally and sometimes can get away with 6, you show 7. How cold does it get there?
Bonnie, looked up plumerias and it said Plumerias needed to be above 60 to keep from going dormant, do not sit the pot on concrete it will cause rot. Said you could knock off all the dirt and store them in a garage as long as it was sort of dark and stayed below 60 and above freezing. Since I have my building I don't think he'll let me stick anything in the garage...LOL, not that I could find a space.
Do you all have alot to drag in or do you all still have your marbles? LOL
She's about to... #13
LOL. Sorry, just repeating what Gary Lezak said on the 6 oclock news. Can't remember which night. It usually is 2 or 3 degrees warmer here than in the city so it might not do it here.
Weather could change too!
I don't even want to THINK about everything that needs to come in!
DH birthday tomorrow, I don't think he will understand if I tell him I have to bring in all my plants and I don't have time for him.....
Trying to take off Friday so I can finish the room and get stuff started to put up.
Well, well, I, aaaa, I guess I'm bringing in the plumies... tomorrow.. that one is in a big heavy pot... I'll grab the babies, now... I AM NOT READY... I have 1st brug buds to open and 1st blooms to see and sniff! waaaaa 40 is okay for brugs, just NOT 32. 33-34 with blankets, maybe.. Thanks for nudging me back to reality Joyce and Cat...
Seems awfully early for it to be getting this chilly!
Well ladies, you could be watching what might turn into a Cat 4 hurricane instead of the cold!! Not sure of many places you can actually say will be safe with that around. Oh please help blow it away. Florida doesn't need Ike!!!!!

WHAT was I thinking this year??? That I own a football field sized greenhouse??? That I even OWN a greenhouse?? So we just move some placeless stuff around in the basement, hang a couple more lights, get a few more pallets.. This is going to be a cinch...(right!) I AM the crazy plant lady! Cat? Joyce?
Happ garden, not cold here yet but had had some very cool nights into the 50's. Tomorrow we'll have 90's and over the week end who knows, remmanys of the hurricanes! CRAZY
Lots of my stuff has got to go this fall! I just don't have the room to keep it all over the winter
Joyce, The ocean is like a thermal blanket, keeps us on the coast a little warmer. Clem is only a little bit south of me maybe 30 miles by water and she gets 7a and for me 6b. Northern Inland RI is zone 5 and RI is a tiny state.
I'm blowing Marion!! We all will find room...things get really creative at the threat of frost ; }
I haven't been watching Marion. Is there one close to you???
Well not yet but the tracking isn't looking great if it gets into the Gulf of Mexico. Latest is they say it is moving west, northwest but will go more westerly by the weekend.
Just blow extra hard it turns east!!!! I am just west of Tallahassee near Quincy.
Marion! Hi there sweetie! I'm praying for calm, everywhere... then it can be autumn for a while... Are you getting out of there? I sure hope you do... come up here til the season is over... We can relax and smell brugs till it's time I start prepping plants to move in.. I'm sure I could load you up with a few potted brugs and lots of cuttings, bulbs, seeds.. This is a bad season for you guys down there, you are all in my thoughts and prayers .. I need to ZZzzzz, I am off to plumie pluck-- (grab the small pots off the deck) Good Night everyone.
Nite AuntB!!
No, I'm staying put but will just keep an eye on the forecast to see what develops. More concerned about my Mom and sister on the west coast near Port Charlotte. My son and daughter are here and we will just do what we have done all our lives--prepare and be careful.
Thanks for the thoughts and invite but for now it is sit, watch and wait.

We need to blow that hurricane out into the big old Atlantic to fizzle out. No more storms needed here.
Time for Zzzzzzzzzz Nite all
Keep your head down and stay safe!
I'm a new hottie, so ya'll don't spank me but I thought we could use a new thread. I hope it's okay with everyone. The new thread is here

Wew Beckyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!! So glad you are ok!! We missed you!! I spent yesterday with my sis in Omaha we went to the coolest thrift store ever and habitat for humanity restore. If you have one in your city you have to go!! I got the coolest pendent light for over my sink for 5 bucks! They had lots of louvered shutters cheap. I think they would make really cool garden divider decorations.
Cat I guess I am confused if your dg newbie wants info on the moonflower datura or the moonflower vines. I know many people call the white dats moonflowers. Guess we should clarify that before we advise lol.
Joyce I always leave my stuff outside until right before the first frost and have never had any problems. My EE's are shedding extra leaves right now, but I really think that has more to do with the daylight length change. They are still putting out new, but the fall shedding has begun. Everything else seems ok. I am going to bring in my ylang ylang in the evenings though.
Lu, Lily,Clemen, Karen, love the pics keep them coming! My mandevilla that I got as a three inch pot in July is now five feet tall and has buds yay!! Did not even expect to get flowers this year!
Congrats on the mandevilla Louise... hit that link darkmoondreamer posted above your post here, we're all chatting it up on #14.. ((((Louise)))) I love ya, hon! Didn't want ya to get "left behind"! lol
