Becky, So glad you are getting out early, much better to be ahead of the traffic. Keep yourself and family safe. Do not worry about the burgs we will all help replace them if necessary. We will be thinking of you and watching the storm. Let us know when you can how you are doing. Our prays are with you, and all others that have to weather this storm.

Now for the important news!!..Now I have to spend my time getting ready for that dang storm!! I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks, I think and now I have to go into a overload mode to get ready for that storm..
Highway 90 is right out in front of my house and cars and trucks are bumper to bumper going west..
I am not leaving..me staying here...just about done getting everything in place so nothing can blow away..I am surrounded by a windbreak made from trees and hope that cuts down what blows thru here...

Be safe Nadine!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Nadine, Hugs and prayers your way. You seem to be definitely in the path in Devers (if I'm reading my map right). Take care Sister, we need ya!

Beck, safe trip, you keep us informed. Hugs and prayers for you, too.

Marion, are you okay? I'm really testing my geography here and trying to think of any other Hotties we need to check in.

I'm sure we all know of DGers or just friends in the areas, and having Gustav, Hanna and then a predicted third come in is going to be a definite concern during the next few weeks.

All Hotties take care! Blow all that warm wind down south! We've been known for some warm wooshes before! :) Peg

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Guess I should have paid more attention in school; I have to keep checking the map to see where everyone is.
Hugs and prayer for everyone in or near the path of the storm, ya’ll take care and check in when you can.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Morning hotties, hope today finds everyone safe and happy.
Watching gardening by the yard (he's in Oklahoma) and he was talking about plumerias. Said to store in the garage for winter, once they have dropped their leaves due to the temps dropping below 60 degrees, don't water don't do anything. Don't know if I am going to let mine go dormant or try to grow all winter. Also said for the first two months of planting a plumeria without roots don't water don't anything until you see the first leaves. He said everything the plant needs to root is in that white milky stuff. You won't see leaves until it has roots. Also said it will grow according to the size of the pot, bigger pot bigger plant....

My triple brug is still growing buds I am so excited....like the rest of you I am waiting and waiting. Brug island is doing good. Having to water alot. I did notice some of the roots are escaping out and going to the soil. Need to repot again.

Today is planting day, nothing else. Need to get everything in the ground today, time is running out.

Have a good day everyone and be safe.

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Good morning Hotties... The traffic is still going strong in front of my house..but moving faster now..I am all packed down and ready to ride this storm...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nadine, just make sure those trees are a safe distance from your house, so if they break, they won't become part of your house. Be safe everyone.

Nadine, the storm has slowed down to a cat3, but you are so close to the coast. Please be careful.
Linda Kay

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

holy moly Nadine! That is spooky and ick on the woods thing. There are some things you should not have to see in your woods lol.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

OMG, Nadine that's a line up.

Here is New Orleans Lady getting for a show. She is not the happiest of my Brugs but it looks like she will bloom anyway. I could not look at her any longer with those large crinkled leaves so this morning chop chop off they came.

Hey Hotties, I hereby elect Nadine our calmest, most cool-headed Hottie of all. People are streaming past her house evacuating, using her woods as a toilet, and a Cat 3 is headed for her, and what is our dear Hottie doing. Mowing... Somehow that would be the last thing on my mind.... Way to go Nadine!! (Hugs!)

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I agree Peg! WTG Nadine! Donna that is an awesome looking Brug!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nadine, that reminds me of a trip Iwas taking about 3 years ago.
As I was drivng down HWY 90, on my way to San Antonio, Tx. I was passing a roadside park, and right there on the edge of the park, a guy had his pants down to his ankles, his shirt pulled up to his chest, and had everyting sticking out to relieve himself. I laughed so hard, and just honked my horn all the way past the park. There were bathrooms there, but I guess he just had to really go!!!
Linda Kay

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Thank ya Thank ya Thank ya!!!! ..LOL...it is still going on out there..nobody hasn't broken down here along this part of the highway..just few people getting out and walking when ever the tracffic is slow..
I am glad I am not in that line to go anywhere..

Yes I mowed my yard since it was cool this morning and very relaxing..and watching these people do stupid stuff..like some were cussing very loud since the windows were down..cuz some people were driving too slow..but hey...where can ya go???..lol.

Well atleast I have no animals(cattle) come barging out since it is 19.8 acres of wooded land here..lol...maybe a rabbit or 2 or deer...lol..

Carrollton, TX(Zone 8a)

Be safe Becky - let me know when you are settled - Clemen I don't know where that school is - I'm north of Dallas

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Oh, my! I'm trying to catch up on everything today, and aside from watering and our thread, I'm taking a Bonnie afternoon. I'm praying for everyones safety and patience during these storms. Yes, I agree Peggy, Nadine IS in deed a brave Hottie. I too have turned the WC on the tube and will ride along in much appreciated safety of my home....Please pass on updates on all our hotties on the road and hunkering down. Nadine, we appreciate the play by, thanks so much, and w/pics! Bet it's kind of weird with traffic constantly, people using your property like that. Patience is needed in adverse conditions and obviously, a makeshift "service area", bless you for both yours:) ... I hope you are snug w/provisions and pray for your continued safety. It sounds like it's not slowing down yet, this hurricane season.. I'm up here on the hot dry prairie with room for a camper or 2.. Joyce, you sound like you're ready for a Joyce afternoon..bet it feels like an accomplishment... just watering does for me, some days... lol With DD's help yesterday, we potted up about 12 brugs... TODAY (when it's cooler) MW is getting her permanent tub in my collection, ((Joyce)) Had a nice time at Sis's last night, plans changed but we enjoyed a visit. Mel and I are having our end of summer winefest tonite (hahaha) A bottle of wine and marinated chicken breasts and potatoes on the grill...
Lu, congrats! It's happening! Woooohoooooooo More pics, too, please... Donna, your NOL is a gorgeous plant, even with wilty looking, wrinkle looking big leaves, did you scalp her?? lol Sometimes in the hot afternoon, even tho they are well watered, the will look like that, it is a natural reaction in effort to cause less surface area for the direct sun to hit.. once it's cools a bit in the evening, they should be perking back up and looking normal.. Hi Kim and all you dear ladies, all our nation's southerners are in my thoughts prayers! Linda Kay, alcohol and keys are acceptable at the hottie ru..hope you are safe, I'm getting my atlas out and pin point ya'll, Please be careful.. check in or call a DG friend so they can let us know you're safe... (we mother hens tend to worry) -AuntB
Night shot of Antique Lace twins, with her antique colour and scent... touch your monitor on the bloom and smell.. mmm kind of baby powdery citrusy.. good, huh? :)

Oh No! I am not behaving well with my Brug Bloom☻I was out there trying to help it unfurl since it didn't look too much different. Yikes ! I hope I didn't hurt it. After I uncurled it some, I tried to peek inside, but while I was peeking,it curled right back up again. I hope it's not mad at me☺ here is a pic at 5:50PM. I just took it. How am I going to keep my helping hands off that bloom? I need my Hottie friends to make me stop☻

Hottie Posyblossom Lu! You need to practice patience!.. (try a blow-dryer, lol NOT really) You may have a couple more days, anxious Lu.. what day did I guess? the 3rd? 5th?? Donna, we're waiting........oh, you mean later, later.. lol Thanks for the bud to blooms update...Keep yur hands off her, Lucille!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Posey! Bless your heart you are in a hurry, :) I don't think we can force labor on these brugs, or believe me, I'm sure everybody would not be waiting so long on theirs to bloom! Hey, Dr., my brug needs an emergency c-section, can ya deliver?? Oh, well, I said the fifth, but I did not know I was going to get some "helping hands" LOL. Peg

Okay, where are our hottie specialists and what do you think about it? Peg

Athens, PA(Zone 5b)

Thank You Hottie sisters☺ I think I can control myself..........for now.............well at least until tomorrow...................sigh.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I predicted the 3rd...
What do we get for the prize????
I know, pretty pictures!
Linda Kay

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Well the tracffic has died down abit..not too much going on out front..I did get 3 loads of laundry wash and dried out on the clothesline..didn't use the dryer..gets my laundry room too hot...lol...I strung some line on my kids old swingset that wasn't being used anymore..so I hung my clothes out there to dry on..LOL...it was so hot and didn't take long for them too dry either....I have enough supplies to last me 2 weeks..I can convert a part of my water well with a hand pump type to get me water if needed...lol..

(Cathy), MO

Sounds like you are prepared Moodene, but I'm hoping the preparations won't be necessary, and it fizzles out.before it hits land.

I still think it will open tomorrow night posy!!!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

hotties, safety for all of you in the path of the storm! Will be thinking and praying that you are all safe!

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Not hardly any cars or trucks going by on Highway 90 west...too spooky...lol..but like the quiet noise...ahhhh....not even any trains on the tracks too..There are railroad tracks behind my house and not a train went by since yesterday...

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Happy Birthday Kim!!!!! Happy labor day every one else!!!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I have a question about my budding brug. She is a very hairy girl. She has leaves all the way down the stalk. Should I remove any of that? Most of my others are not wearing that many clothes lol.
