Hi Bev!

My get up and go has gone up and left! When I look at all I need to do. Beans, corn and picked 3 ice cream buckets of plums! Then there will be more beans and more cukes and tomatoes. The corn is done But they will all be good this winter.

Betty love the bench. Might be a project for me this winter!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I do not have the time or energy to veggie garden anymore just tomatoes, but lots of flowers!!!!

We are above 90 here again today so I haven't got out as much a I'd planned. Been making pies to freeze and bake later.

We might get a little rain out of huricanes in the gulf Betty, but that's about it. And we don't always get rain. Just depends on how they track. It'd be nice, we could use the rain!

Hello Betty, just returned from Ingersoll and boy am I missing the weather we experienced last week. Love the cool, no humidity days!! Shock landing in Orlando--like walking into a steaming brick wall leaving the airport.

I thought of you daily when I saw all the lovely gardens in Ingersoll and on our drive to London for the funeral. Oh my what beautiful flowers. Loved the afternoons visiting with family in my niece's walled garden, chipmunks scampering around and apples and pears falling all around us. My children was absolutely fascinated!!! Took a trip on Saturday to the market so my son could see--he is still talking about it. The veggies were unbelievable. Well enough I guess. Sorry I didn't get to see you on this trip but I will be returning again. Thought of you as we left yesterday, stopped by Timmy's for one last coffee and had a huge package of butter tarts stowed in my carryon bag.

Sad to leave but brought a bit of Canada back with me.

Bev, are those flowers from 'now' if so, they aren't showing 'fall' look as is ours...took a photo of the fenceline, not sure what you call them, such little flowers for so much greenery..am sure by next week they'll all be blooming..wish they'd show up more..

Betty, Those look like what we call False sunflowers and yes all these are still blooming. I took 12 pics of this fellow this morning. HUGS BEV

WOW isn't that something for the eye to see...while I'm playing at crafts you are all playing "Ms. Homemaker" come winter when I can only dream of my gardens you will be tasting the benefits of them..lucky/lucky you..

Glad you are back safely Marion, have thought of you often this past week. Our condolensces on the death of your brother..must have been overwhelming to have it happen under same circumstances as the loss of your DH 3 years ago..you'll dread each time similar weather/events come in order again...you must be tired...yes you got the best of the best being here this past week, perfect weather...which market did you visit???
Was it St. Jacobs?? Good old Tim Horton coffee...delicious isn't it... sure hope I can drop in to visit with you in Dec. - have to make a pact with mom if I'm driving her down..the drive for a little 150 mile off route excursion..lol...that's a trade right...

Bev your flowers look like mine when at their prime in June/July...

Did just take this photo though..can still enjoy for a little longer then it will be sit at computer and look at the photo's...or...can just share all of yours!

While watering this little lady followed me around..well it's bath time, get things ready for tomorrow..Noah just left..not looking forward to school, walked up to the school and saw listing on the door, says he has the worse male teacher the school has ever had, said last year all classes could hear him yell all the time, tried to say perhaps he'll have an easier time this year, not to judge the year by last year but don't think it's what he wanted to hear..want's his mother to ask that he be put into the other grade 5...hmmm - kids..

decided no boat ride tonight..Greg said to call him which night I want it put in, he told me nows the time as boating time is limited..Suzanne and Lenny want to go to Henry's All you can eat fish fry on the island of Sans Souci..only by water can you access it or 'ice' during winter, so perhaps late Sept. once their grandchild is born, we can take off for the day..

Seems I've accomplished all I set out to do this weekend, did it in a leisurely way, enjoyed visiting with company but look forward to a quiet night..Greg/Mel wanted me to come over for supper and a swim but once I'm out of the tub I'll want my jammies...lol..

So disappointed that I couldn't find a hairdresser open today, but lordy, I had plenty of opportunity to go Fri. aft./Sat and Sun. - will teach me a lesson...

Greg/Mel and the boys will be eating here for a week or so, did I tell you this before??? oh well, I'll say it again, put it off to old age...they are having their entire kitchen redone, new flooring, cupboards etc. so Greg has to have flooring and cupboards out, no stove or fridge for awhile..not quite sure I understood, will they be coming her to do their meal and "I" can eat with them, or did he mean they'll look forward to home cooked meals during the week and 'I" will cook for them...guess I'll have to get that cleared up...lol

Thank you all for keeping me company, sure did enjoy our Labour Day together...hope you've had a great one...
keep safe...good Lord willing, we'll talk tomorrow...

Rest well my friend...

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my yes the coffee is very good. First thing we stopped for when we crossed into Sarnia and the last thing we had before we left Sarnia!!! Can't count the cups in between!! No butter tarts there though.

It is the market between Ingersoll and London--Trails End I believe was the name. I had wanted to see the University again along with Brescia Hall and where I had lived with my brother and SIL many, many moons ago. Also wanted to show my children these places so decided St. Jacobs was to far this time. Next time for sure!!!!

If you are stopping to see Deborah (Cordeledawg) then I can send you directions on down to my house that will be much, much closer than going to I-75. Deborah is only about 70 miles from me. We will keep in touch on this one. Plenty of room for Mom and you for sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What is a butter tart?
Linda Kay

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Linda Kay, I posted on another thread--it's just about the most delicious treat you would ever want to eat--calorie free and similar to a pecan pie but I get the ones with raisins in them. Oh my so good!!!!

Glenview, IL

Well Good Morning to all.

Wow, what a weekend. Went camping with some friends. Made the drive on Saturday and came home very late Sunday night.
The weather was perfect. Swam all day on Sun and by time we got home I was one tired lady.
It was pretty cool tho as Julia and Alissa made the drive later. So we had a nice time together with our friends friends.

Yesterday, we had a nice day, spent it at home. I did finally get to the wood wash. Should have started an hour earlier as I wasn't able to finish the job.But the last hour will be relativley easy. But boy are my arms beat! So had an early dinner a nice little fire and it was off to bed, LOL now I am wide awake and hungry. Do you see what time it is...LOL, never thought I'd be the first to greet you all.

I've a huge mailing to do so I will be able to read as I work anyway. Ran all the envs on Friday, so I am ready to roll.
The other mailing I was griping on got put off! So, we will be running it at the later date...I am hopeful to get all the parts now so I am not so rushed when its time to hit the post office. That would be to good a dream so we'll find out. i know I got my stuff ordered and already recieved my ink. got enough to start with and the rest of envs. should be here by Thursday. keep fingers crossed, it should go a simple as 1,2,3...

Was glad to see you all had a busy weekend.
Betty, the bench is awsom!
Bev, As usual, gorgeous photo's of the butterflies.
Ves, Glad you got all your stuff done and what a big bummer you had to work yesterday.
Ruby, on vacation...hope you enjoy the time.

Waving hello to Shar! Liz, GG, Dawn, Laura, and everyone else I've missed...

Well, I guess I am going to go read, started a great book on Friday, read all weekend. So since I am up might as well breeze though a few chapters befor everyone gets up and rolling.
Have a great day...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow Judy, you had quite the weekend and up so early..remember Grandma's words when I'd get up before I needed to, always asked, "did you pee the bed?"..her way of saying, 'your up early'...sounds as though you've mega work and here you were worried you'd just be sitting trying to fill in your day as I do...wrong!

OMG, yesterday I was at the variety store and coming out didn't I see Sears "Wish Catalogue" not sure if you get it south of the border but it's a large catalogue that is filled with goodies - mostly toys for children to 'wish' for Christmas..imagine, it is coming but even for me that's a bit soon....

Don't want to go to work today, would love to stay home, if it weren't for Paul trying to find a location in Barrie I might call it quits, but I'll hold on a bit longer...long drive is getting to me...

Marion, although circumstances were not the best I'm sure your family enjoyed their visit to Canada..

Linda Kay, Marion is right, those butter tarts wether pecan/nuts or raisins are to die for...might have a calorie or 2 in them..lol

Liz, missing you girl, drop in, say 'hi' so we can give you a hug...same with you Laura...you must be on your full time schedule now, back at work...Ruby, hope you are well enough to enjoy your and Scotty's vacation...Carol, hope you rested your back..terrible to have so much pain...
Dawn, looking forward to your having more time as to drop in also, know it's difficult as you say to get into the swing of things after being off for so long...new babies coming shortly...

All others, morning!!!!

Are you ok Laura..how did your first day go..didn't ask but is 'full' time with same employer??? know you had cut down in hours while ill but wasn't sure if you'd also changed jobs or gotten full time employment?

Laura our gardens (or at least mine here in Canada) is starting to fade, you will soon come into spring, now we'll have to share yours..about what month does your garden start to come alive after winter months?

How are those grandchildren of yours doing? Did you get to visit with them over the weekend?

Well it's time to leave for the city, must I????

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning, to everyone. To Canada, Australia, USA. WOW! We truely are an international group!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
I will be busy getting my Dad packed and off to Michigan on Thursday, so my Sis can watch him for the rest of the year. I have to have both of my feet operated on. I have heel spurs that are getting pretty painful. Each foot will take 8 weeks to heal, so since I can't be on my feet to take care of my Dad, (a stroke victim) I have to send him to my Sis. I thank God I have family to help with him, other wise he would have to go to a nursing home, and I know that would take its toll...

Linda Kay

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Linda Kay,Good luck with your dad and your feet.My sis had those but not the surgery. You will have plenty of time onDave's to plan garden for next yr.Take care.HUGS BEV

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Bev. I love your pictures of the butterfly. That is so pretty. I would have it printed at least 8 X 10, and have it framed.
Take care everyone.
Linda Kay

Linda Kay, I have 12 differant pics of that butterfly and can't pick the best one. I ought to have a contest!!!! Love butterflys but them and Hummers are hard to catch. Thanks BEV

Photo's are so well taken, you must have a great camera or is it the photographer..lol

LindaKay, when do you go for your operation??? Hopefully you have many interests i.e. reading/crafts etc. that the time will pass fairly fast...of course you have all of us to entertain you and entertain you we will...so your father lives with you? Must have been difficult to be active and on your feet these past months...will you be hospital bound for any length of time? hmmm lots of questions this early morning...

Boss just got in, said he could have stayed home this morning...should have given us all a call..all felt the same especially as today we'll be the nicest day of the year...oh well, you can all tell me about your day and it will make me feel better...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have my first oneon the 12, and 8 weeks later the 2nd one. I will have all of my Sisters hereon DG to keep me busy. All the swaps, and chatting will be enough. Linda Kay

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG LindaKay, do they not consider doing both at same time so when you are recouping it's done and over with in a shorter period of time??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nope, one a t a time, because I have to do therapy, and I have to have one good foot to walk on!
I ask to do both at the same time, and he said no.

Crozet, VA

Greetings All - Well, this is the third day that I have been at VA Beach and I haven't been to the water yet. Sunday nights indigestion turned in to yesterday's pooh pooh tummy. I stayed in the room and slept on and off all day. I began feeling better last night and am ready to motivate about here shortly. Will take a short walk down to water's edge and then return and lay beside the pool a bit.

I have been surprised by how few people there were this weekend. Can only guess that the economy is affecting pocket books.

.

Not much to say. I will check back later on today. Have a good one all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you are on the mend Ruby..if you get the chance - photo's please!!!
Jeannine would imagine you are back as well and have Sailor to spoil..how is Murphy taking to his new 'sister'? How did the vacation go, bet you are excited to have the family back into the school system and back into a routine...

Lordy, know there is so much info on knitting machines on the internet, have 3 of them - one electronic, thought I'd find a pattern for baby blanket so I can embroider Suzanne's soon to be grandchild's name, birth date and weight..but the sites leads you to a gazillion other sites..not easy process...can't find my knitting machine books, must have left them when I moved..how careless of me... back to search some more..

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Busy, busy, busy. Ain't got time for nothing. Gripe, gripe, gripe, That is me today. I don't know which end is up. I have 2 trades of lilies to plant and 8 that I have to send out this week. I will shut up and get going. Hugs to all and talk later. BEV

Bev, must ask, do you sit for long periods of time in hopes of catching photo's of these beauties? Guess I can't sit still that long..lol..

Hey, gripe here, that's what we're here for, gripe/listen/enjoy

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning or afternoon I guess. Bev the pictures of the butterflies are wonderful. I have been trying for the past 3 years to get them here at this house. The morning I left for Canada I was having my coffee and looked out the breakfast nook window--lo and behold there were 3 wonderful swallowtails. Can't begin to tell you how I felt--needed it too as I was really bummed out about my brother!!

Oh my yes, Betty, it was a wonderful trip. It had been 39 years since my son had been and it was so much fun watching in as he saw and experienced things. Funny memories of when he was a child started flooding in and my usually quiet one became a chatter box!! He is already planning to go back and taking his 2 girls.

Greetings everyone. Linda Kay, I will be with you in spirit when you have the surgery. If you were closer I would be more than willing to care for you!! Ah the trouble we could get into even if you couldn't be very mobile!!!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

No I do not sit and wait. When I see one I run and get the camera and just run arround and arround the buddlie bush and just snap away. I got 12 good ones out of thirty TEE HEE.

Marion, how's the weather there? will have to go back to the map as you said when I visit Deborah you are so nearby..mom might never get to Clearwater..lol was going to try to talk her into a quick trip to New Orleans..problem with her though, the minute we're at the border she's anxious to get to her place..maybe I'll slip her a sleeping pill and she'll never know we had coffee...

Friend just msn'd me, a friend from on the lake we used to hang out with passed away last night...he's been ill for so very long, almost a God send...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bev you just have to frame them..don't you have one wall that you could make an arrangement of all of them...

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I would like to learn to make a collage of them and print them out on my new printer but don't know how. HELP!!!! Missed the butterfly Betty!!!!

Thumbnail by dragonfly62
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

The weather is a little overcast and cool for us--80's. Humidity is--well we won't talk about that right now!!

If you need some assistance with slipping something in Mom's coffee Betty, let me know. Have Baileys here!!! LOL Seriously it would be much, much closer to come from Deborah's to my house via a shortcut I will send you. Mom is very, very welcome--after all what are we all but bits and pieces of our parents. I love what I have learned about her daughter so I know I would love her too.

Need to buy some groceries as I don't think living on the tarts is a very good idea. I could do it but don't think it wise. LOL

Glenview, IL

Hi...
Taking a real short break.

Oh Bev, i agree totally, they all need to be framed!
Well hope you get alot done today then.

Will finish my woodwash tonight. Only about an hours worth of work left so immediatley after work I'll get at it...

How cool...Hope you two will get to meet up!

LOL, I ended up returning to bed this morning took an hour to get back to
sleep then, I had a restless sleep but figured with my day today will need it.
besides, left my book out on deck and it was dark and cold hehehe, forgot about reading pretty quick.

Hey Ruby, have a nice relaxation over at the water!

Well break over...

Oh...Welcome Linda Kay!!

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

******* ATTENTION********

HURRICANE SAILOR HAS ARRIVED!!!!

Yes, we are back and the latest member of the family is making herself known!!! We picked Sailor up Sunday morning. Got her home and took her to the back yard to get aclimated. We let Murphy out about 10 mins later and he barked his head off!!! Scared the poor thing to death!!! Then he decided she wasn't too bad and sniffed her butt! Both are getting along better each hour. I say hour because I see them both become a little more comfortable with each other a littlle bit at a time. Murphy is determined to play with ALL of the toys at one time. Which ever one Sailor has, he wants that one! She on the other hand has started asserting her female powers and let him have it a few times!!! She loves to chase him around the yard as well as stand right under him as he's releiving himself! It's like rain UNDER a bridge! Needless to say, the two of them are quite entertaining as well as exhausting! Sailor barked and whined much of last night and let us know she does not like the crate one bit! (too bad!!) Murphy I'm sure was thinking 'I wish this little rat would shut-up so I can sleep'!!! When I went home at lunch today to feed her and let her out, Murphy was lying right outside her crate as if to say 'I'm right here'.

As for vacation, it was wonderful. Great weather with the exception of one morning we had storms. Glad to get back home though! Kids went off to school today (Y-E-A-H!!) Back to work today (B-O-O-O-O!)

So here's a picture I took at lunch today. Sailor & Murphy "sharing" a stick!!
