Joseph, thought this one looked pretty with a little bit of a ruffle.

New MG's for me #5 2008
Wonderful blooms Helena. Impossible to pick a favorite, your's have
all been special.
More amazing blooms, Helena! With so few MGs blooming for me currently, I am soooo enjoying your photos! :-) I could never get enough ... :-)
Helena - How close to the Gulf water are you? Stay safe. The plants will have to fend for themselves if that storm comes too close to you! Just get to a safe place. They are predicting a catergory 5 storm, which I think it already is one as it is crossing over Cuba.
Helena, stay safe. You are in our prayers.
Elsa
Ditto to Becky and Elsa - take care of you first. Am hoping both you and some of my family down there come through the storm safe.
Looks like I'm not the only one bringing up the flower caboose, here. Until (or if - critters/deer) our MGs bloom, I've been enjoying yours so much.
Karen
I am so glad to hear you are fine! Having never experienced any of the forces of nature, I can't even begin to think what it must be like to be caught up in what we have seen on TV.
Elsa
Helena, they're all lovely, but this one is breathtaking.

Helena, The big, bold, deep blue from Onalee looks like Berlin Blue.
Regardless, it's a beauty.
Helena - Love those deep colors! Looks like satin! I hope you didn't get any flooding. Is the rain finally letting up or is the storm still sitting on top of you? I'd heard there have been a number of tornadoes sighted in the storm areas. Stay safe.
Thanks Jackie and Becky. I was hoping it wasn't Berlin Blue but it was really pretty. Hope the blooms get better too.
Becky, Gautier fared pretty well. There was some flooding in the lower areas but not around my house. I do live maybe have a mile from the gulf 10-15 min walk. We got 2-3 days of rain, before & after the storm.
I hope you don't get any of those storm either. It gets kind of hard to take. Stay safe too.
I like the scalloped edge too and with the white border, it really stands out.
Helena -
Asuka possibly...

Helena - These are beautiful!!!! What is the name? I may have missed it somewhere in your posts. Are the leaves variegated. (Forgive me if I am asking the same questions again.)
Thanks Becky. I got 2 packages. 1 said JMG Seeds Giant Bloom Mixture, the other said JMG Seeds Shibori Asagao LG Bloom MX.
I forgot to look to see if the leaves are variegated but I think most are. Not sure but I think I only sowed 5 seeds from each. That's why I don't know their names but am hoping for ID's.
I hope you get lots of seeds from that one! I love it! Please keep me in mind for some if you do. I am really starting to love those particular blues. Not too dark and not too light of a blue, but just really attractive ... almost sky blue blooms! And the stripes are really the icing on the cake for that one!
I hope you are all prepared for Hanna. You will get some gusts. Hopely the eye and storm wall will hit you from the east side of the storm. Less chance of tornadoes. I am thinking of you and praying that you (& your family) and your garden beds and plants weather the storm just fine! It's probably only going to be a category 1, so that isn't too bad. I'll take a category 1 any day over a much stronger hurricane! :-) Hang in there! Let us know as soon as you can how you are doing afterwards! Hang tight!
Becky, it will be easier to get seeds from the new plants since I'm only growing one of each and separate either in pots or in the ground. I''ll save you some seeds too.
I haven't watched the news lately about Hanna but if I have to my young plants in pots will be coming inside the house & bigger pots into the shed. Hopefully it won't be a bad storm.
Too many blooms today didn't look good for pictures.

Joseph - Ya gotta stand out on your porch briefly (and safely) to experience this force of nature! I love the wind and the rain, so I am living in the right state! LOL!
Helena - I don't think you are going to get much but possibly some rain from Hanna. Maybe not even that. :-) I don't know why ... I was thinking you were in NC when I wrote the above post. You'd think I would've look at your location before I wrote that ... Ha,ha! I hope I didn't alarm you! LOL! The crazy weather forecasters are predicting that Ike might go into the Gulf. I don't believe their forecasts until I see the storm actually moving there beyond any doubt. Hurricanes are unpredictable and can do some very interesting paths, so I am one of those folks that say ... let's wait and see what the storm is really going to do. And I am prepared as best as you can for such weather conditions. I'm hoping it will die down once it hits some of the Atlantic Islands. Though I sure don't wish it on them!
Thanks for the offer of seeds! I look forward to growing them next year! :-)
