Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Bloom plus just like the brugs with vitamin b1, weekly, and getting more buds! Lots of Phosphate over 50!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Wowzers!!!!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I got a lovely package from Marion today! She made two candlesticks bygluing short candle holders together end on end and she put blue sand in the spaces! I got 3 packs of tealights, one vanilla color, and one green , and one blue! There are 4 votive candles, and 2 flat chrystal holders! I'm delighted! I'll post pix later!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Evening hotties! Ordering pizza and DD and I are baking chocolate/butterscotch cookies. Smells good in here..

Beck, you want a big hosta? My biggest is going to be Empress Wu when she gets older. (Hostalibrary.org)
Warning, do not stay on this site too long. They even provide music to listen to while you look. :)

Got out in the garden going good and then some of DH's coworkers came over to see his garden. Three hours later, they left, two of the wives like flowers, so it took a little longer. It is so much fun to meet people for the first time, drenched in sweat, dirt under your fingernails and looking like a crazy woman. Oh, well.

One of those fish emulsion places was a hardware store, and no I have not checked out my favorite Ace yet, so I know where I will be heading tomorrow. That is weird, though that ya'll can find it at Wally and mine does not carry it.

oh, by the way, everyone who complained about not getting the pie recipe, you have d-mail! Got to get another batch of cookies out. Lov ya, Peg

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Save me some!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I am so tired. Went to the family reunion,,,my family is soooo crazy!!! There are 13 women in my generation and all are single and crazy, my poor DH! Then in my Moms generation their are only two left, my Mom and My Aunt.....my family must be hard on men....LOL

Needed to work in the garden sooo bad, just can't get it together.

Don't know about pinching my gizzard! Sounds painful!

Measured the garden room, I have a bunch of odd ball cabinets that are brand new that someone gave me. I need to figure out how to fit them in there without blocking the light. I have lots of the cabinets that go over the frig. You know the ones that are only 15 inches tall. Thought about taking them from the floor level to ceiling height and leaving spaces between them for sitting pots or what ever. They are different lengths so if I went from longer to shorter I thought it might look pretty cool.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

You lucky dawg!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Pass the cookies!! You must post pics of the garden room Joyce : )

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

oh calamari ! Clemen you are killing me, I love calamari! Butterscotch cookies too! Lovely Pic Bonnie! I just got fragrant fire hosta this year and guacamole. Both smell wonderful and are blooming now. Spent the day painting again. Got one long entire wall completely done and it looks great. Still have two more walls to go! At least the paint did not stink like that Kilz did. Clemen that cereus looks really happy! What soil did you use?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Louise, some sort of cacti soil and electra (good stuff), and I do not know. The thing is she is blooming, first year, got cuttings less than 2 years ago! AHhhhhhh, sweet calamari and grilled the better not the extra calories right?

When is the store going to be open?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Just as soon as all my ordered stuff arrives, hopefully in a week. Just went and got a bunch of retail store shelves, coz we are going to carry pet supplies too. This store was renovating and sold me store shelving for 5.00 per 4 foot of shelving, can't beat that deal!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

The garden room still needs lots of work. Probably garden shed is better name. It will be my garden escape. The front will have concrete for easy dolly pulling to put those big brugs inside. It is grey not blue. Used it last year but didn't have the interior walls up. Added the east door this year because as the sun rose it was too early to put plants out and I wasn't getting enough light.

I started guacamole and fried bananas this year, also. Hostas are such easy and forgiving plants.

Louise what color are you painting the inside? Commerical shelving is terrible expensive, course about anything that says commercial cost more, you did get a good deal.

Are you still working your other job?

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

oh joyce that is a pretty garden room. Nope I got layed off along with half the plant about three weeks ago. Showed up for work and they told us, no warning. My original plan was to work there and groom my days off until I built up clientelle. Life has a way of rearranging your plans lol.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

The store colors are lavender and white. The walls were wood pannelling bottom half and some pink tulip pannelling on the top( ala 70's ). We painted them lavender on the bottom and white on the top with doggy foot prints in lavender over the white. I did take some before and after pics and will post when I bring the camera home.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi Hottie Girlies!!... Just got home and I am POOPED!!Our Lions Club had a fundraiser..with a gospel singing "quartet"..lol.. that's what they call themselves.. but there are nine of them singing... They sang like angels... IF you can call MEN angels..LOL

Peg.. ty for the recipe... I will complain from now on...hehe.. if it gets me recipes... Is Empress WU larger than Sum and Substance?? I don't think I could stand it!! I gotta go check that place out

Louise... I wonder why you painted your new business lavender??..LOL.. I know it is looking good.. and I bet the lil paw prints are cute too!Good deal on those shelves too..

Joyce... ohhh your room is going to be soo nice... I love family reunions.. but we don't have them anymore..

Clemie... that bloom still look scary..LOL

Our Walmart used to carry the fish emulsion... maybe I am thinking of the one in a neighboring town.. I am going to call and if they still have some I am going to buy several bottles!! The Walmart where I usually go has taken almost all the garden stuff out getting ready for football season I guess

Audrey.. I bet the candles are pretty... speaking of Marion.. how's she doing.. we haven't heard from her in a while??

Pretty pics everyone!!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Clem, calamari, oh goodness. That is definitely one thing I do not like about OK, "fresh" seafood is not fresh, I don't care what they say.

Joyce, your garden "shed" is precious. How nice that is going to be.

Louise, man, I wish I was closer. My old dog just does not like anyone I take him to and I get real mad bringing him home with bleeding paws from getting his nails cut. However, in all fairness, his are large, hard and black, so I know they are hard to trim. I know your business is going to be a success, it's just hard getting started. Keep us posted.

Got a big day planned in the garden. Hopefully, no visitors today. However, if anyone shows up, I may just put them on the business end of a shovel. LOL.

Have a good day all! Peg

I have been out dividing iris....oh my my....do I have alot of those. I have only done 3 clumps and I would hate to think how many plants I have. I probably have 20 more clumps to do...maybe. Need to get done before winter.

The ground is like a rock we haven't had rain here in a long time. It rains 10 milies south of me but nothing here. I tried to dig a hole to plant some daylilies and I thought I was going to have to get a pick axe.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Hello Hotties! Hey Joyce your garden retreat is awesome : ) I f I was closer I would help ya dig.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Kimmy, Kimmy come on down! The price is right, free rhizones from all these tb's....LOL

My DH asked when we were building the garden room if it wouldn't be cheaper to buy new plants every year....little does he know....LOL This is what brugs and tropicals will cost ya...Actually I have an earth bermed house so I don't have a basement to keep all my lovelys in, I had one little spot in the garage and DH needed that space also, now I want you to know we have a 900 sqft garage, not exactly a closet, and I have never been able to park a car in it (that we drive). So that is how he got me out of his space...LOL, but I love it. It is kind of a hybrid greenhouse. Can't afford to heat a true greenhouse.

Better go clean up and get ready for tomorrow.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Joyce, lol, I can't park my car in the garage either, don't feel so bad!
Beckie, agree wit you 300%, the buds on the cereuos are scary looking, hubbie and I were staring at it and it really looks like the plant in the little shop of horrors, it is just waiting to get at ya!

Peg, not calamari, ah, you don't know what you're missing. I still say it is delicious and healthy! Not fishie at all!

DONNA where are y woman, miss you!
And to all of you that i missed, love you all, Clemen

Hi hotties...It's been a pretty busy weekend....
My DD just left...first we got to see my GD roll over for the very first time tonight....(Had to do it at grandma's)
My DD was sooo excited....
And as she was leaving she looked at my Brugs (as she thought she was gonna adopt them too like she did my dog I still have visitation rights though...LOL)
She said with mouth open wide..OH MY GOSH....What...How..Why..??
Last week she thought I killed them...
The momma plant is loaded with new growth all up and down the limb....(all she had last week was 1 leaf left)
She's gonna be georgeous soon...
I'll try and get some pic's posted tomorrow of their progress...
Well lotta catching up to do...Later...

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Kim she is coming to get ya too.
Hi Phillis, not trying to scare you! lol

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Clem....That looks like my kinda plant....Love Weird...

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I'm not scared I think she's beautiful!!! Phyllis you had a great weekend : )

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Yeah it started out great...3 boxes of new plants arrived on Sat......my new lily bulbs were sprouted abt 2"....After the DH got home from work went and put a deposit on a new Wood Furnance...Then went out...Betting on the sulkies...
And today we started fixing the balcony/deck posts...So I can get my front flower bed planted back..
And then my GD's surprise roll over...

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

She is beautiful but she really looks like a dinosaur plant! Out of this world!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Phyllis, what kind of wood stove are you looking at? We were looking at the wood burner that goes outside and does the thing with water. Awfully expensive tho. We are thinking about putting in one of those furnace that you run water lines under the ground. We have lots of ground.

Is this your first GD, my little gardner turns 2 on Sunday...big party...LOL
This is our first and probably only....wish we had 6...LOL

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi hotties.. just got in from town..

Clemie... ty..I think ..LOL for the pic.. I will say when she is bloomed out she will look way different!!Very beautiful in fact.. and huge!!

Yeah Phyllis.. you lucjed out all the way around!! Plants and the baby rolling over.. at you r house..lucky you... I hope you took pics of the baby!!

hello everyone.. ya'll are quiet!!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Joyce.. we have one of those in the house in TN.... It is worth every penny.. believe me!! We had propane heat.. in a drafty old house.. but the wood heat was fantastic.. and I never felt a draft as long as the wood heater was on

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I don't care which way he goes as long as I am not the one going outside to put wood in it. It get mighty cold, windy, and snowy. Only problem I see is cutting wood, now won't be a problem, but we aren't old but getting older, and I don't know how long we can do that. Things can change in a second.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Hi hotties,
I’m back, long weekend but great. End not so good, drove DD and DGD back to Prov. this morning, made several stops looking for fish and seaweed stuff. Found something at Agway, not what you hotties use but it looked similar. Got home and hauled it all in, walked out use the fish stuff, with hands full. First I was on the little front deck, and then I was on the ground. I don’t remember anything. When I woke up everything was still in my hands so I don’t think I was out that long. Crawled to a sitting position and checked all body parts; everything was working so I fed the Burgs. Came inside and slept for 2 hours, am fine now. Chiropractor’s is going to love me; he had to push the joint back in place last Friday, strict instructions not to do anything. Now I’ll have to explain falling off the deck, at least I can tell him I had the brace on. DAD DIDN’T SPEND 18 YEARS CALLING ME GRACE FOR NOTHING.

I did read everything, but OMG I’ll need to type for hours to get it all in.
Clem, I love calamari, the cereus is scary gorgeous, Glad to hear the storms were not too bad.

Joyce, I love the garden room, looks like a garden house. It’s soooooooo cute.
I have 3 things I dig with a sm. pick axe, a med. pick axe and a lg. pick axe. Lots of fun in the land o rocks.

Louise, lavender suites you, it’s about my favorite color too. I love the paw print idea.

AuntB, The strip tease is huge, really gorgeous. Good luck with the transplanting.

Kim, it’s not too many miles to RI, lots of digging here.

Peg, we can get “fresh” seafood here, Just drive to the docks in Galilee, buy the lobster, crab and fish right off the boats everyday when they come in.

Cat, thanks for the links, I paid through the nose for the stuff I got today. No Sutherlands in this area that I know of.

Becky, I popped the sacroiliac joint in my back in June, apparently it takes a looooooooooooong time for the muscles to get strong enough to hold in back in.

The fair was great; the traffic getting out was not. I haven’t had time to crop and resize the pics but here is one of a momma and her babies.
