My DD is USAF also, right now stationed near Pisa Italy, she is a lifer, been in for 12 years. She has been fortunate with her assignments and has done mostly special duty.
But as a mother or close family it is very hard to have someone else take control of your child’s life. She was only 18 when she went to basic in TX and I will never forget the day they came took her away. It was like sorry mom but she’s ours now. We are all use to it now, and the AF has been a very good life for her. I continually pray for piece.

Bonnie!!! I am sooo glad you are back!! Sorry you had problems on the trip..... but I know ya'll havd a great time.. Especially Drew!!..lol he's a big ol handsome devil.. and his GF is soo cute!! WTG on your hoya!!

Phyllis..LOLOLOLOL... yep that is TX... I call them sticker burrs.. I don't know what they really are.. and since my "yard" was my G Daddys old field we have LOTS of them.. TG... not right by the house though... fire ants...^%$#..LOL and I call chiggers... red bugs here.. but in TN they are called chiggers... OHHH I'd LUV Joe Pye Weed and the sweet william..lol.. you can keep the thistles and golden rod.. we have them too and they are BAD weeds to me..lol
I harvested some Sweet William seeds this year...
And I probably could check out the Joe Pye Weed...Some of it's like 4-5 foot tall..
See if I can Find some smaller ones.....

I have an adopted son, well, he grew up at my house swimming and mowing my yard (and two rose bushes once) who just finished his third tour in Iraq. It just kills me when he leaves but at least now we can stay better in touch than his first tour since we can e-mail now. Pray for peace in this ole world.
I have been on the puter very little. My eye swelled shut on me, a chalazion (fancy stye) and now they are talking about surgery. I have no idea when I am going to get that scheduled. But, LOL, here's Keith with his arm in a cast and me with my eye swollen shut. I told everybody we had a fight and I won!! The cast came off Tuesday so now we're doing some strong rehab.
Louise, I have the magilla and it did nothing for me. It is about 8 inches tall and just does not like it here. And, I put it in one of my best spots in the yard. I am already planning on potting that one up and taking it to TX to find it a new home. Also, winter sowing, oh yeah, going to try that. Thanks for the hint.
I have caladiums all over this year. I got a good deal on 10 pounds at the DG Marketplace and planted them anyplace I could think off and gave them out to every person I know who had flowers, and then some who didn't! Should have put more thought into how many bulbs 10 pounds was.
Moodene, your brugs are beautiful. Is it usual to get that many flushes in one year? LOL, remember I still have not seen one bloom yet.

We did enjoy our short time with her, but they never really had any alone time. If we'd made it to the ocean, they could have abandoned me, I wouldn't have minded at all. It was a very pretty drive. Drove all day Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun & Monday. Drew had grown whiskers the whole time she was gone. He looked like a wooly mammath! lol She asked him to shave before they reunited (I was glad!).
Sticker burrs? We call them Stick Tights, my dad owned a sawmill, always coming home from the timber with them all over his pant legs and shirt sleeves.. he'd give us girls a penny for every 2 we picked off.. I'm sure my Mom liked that when it came to laundry day. Thistle is a noctious weed here, county sprays them, I did get one out of the back yard this year. Joyce and Louise, I took this pic at the Columbia Zoo, I thought of you when I saw them.

Peg.. that will be ok..lol I'll try and make racks or something between now and then..lol but believe me.. I can pack it in my lil Pontiac Vibe..LOL.. This will be my 3rd RU and I am getting experienced!! BTW.. I am glad Keith got the cast off.. I know that feels sooo much better.. but OUCH.. on the PT!! I sure hate you will have to have surgery on your eye.. but if you have a patch on at the RU ..I'll lead you around.. wait on you.. etc.. treat you like a queen!! How's that? Just don't mess the RU up by NOT being able to come!!

Hey! Spent the day painting the windows with the help of my mother in law. Hubby put the tub together and groom table with the help of his Dad. Here are a couple pics, one of the store front....
