South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

My goodness, lots been happening I had to read over 24 hours worth of posts and that’s a lot on this thread.
Lousie, sorry to hear about you ankle, is it walkable?
Celmen, you were reborn, I like it. Love the cereus.
Cat, so happy you got buds too, sorry about the hoppers, we got em but not that bad.
Linda Kay, I found lots of great coleus at the mall, not inside, outside. They have all these huge planter filled with them and sometimes a few pieces have fallen off in my hand (et ah) while admiring them. They root up in about a week and grow pretty fast.
Joyce, I hate deer too. One car totaled and I don’t want to hit another one.
Audrey, How are you doing?
Becky, have you been spraying a lot, or when the sun is out?
Hi Clem, thanks for the happy dance. Now I need to dance into the shower. Ran in to post the pic’s and I’m still dirty.
I’ll be back.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Hi Phyllis, I crossed post with ya. Welcome to the hotties thread.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

So do I look skinnier in my new outfit? lol

Best thing, I never have to sign my name, although, most of you don't!
MORE HAPPY DANCE HERE TO EVERY HOTTIE, THAT IS!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Phillis, welcome! You'll have some fun with us, right hotties?

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Yes I remember.... thanks to all of you for the help....I know some of the others here too....
But I can't be a hottie cause it's too cold here...gets down in the 50's at night...
But surprisingly my Brugs seem to be enjoying it....

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Always thought they couldn't tolerated anything below 60...
You should have seen me dragging that huge planter on and off my deck cause I was worried about it...
Told the DH we might be getting flowerd on the babies...He said i'll believe it when I see it...
We watched them grow from tiny stems to mini trees...

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

lol

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Phyllis, It is incredible, you can almost watch them grow. The one I have the large bud on was in a 4” pot when I got her in mid June. No more that 5” high, now she is over 4’ and growing out of the biggest pot I have. I’m going to have to move her up to a tub soon. You still have plenty of time to get blooms, I won’t move mine inside till Oct 1, if the weather holds.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Donna, you can even wait longer than that, just watch how cold the weather will get, as long as no frost keep them outside!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Here is my plan for this year; I’m going to load all of them that I can into the utility trailer that attaches to the tractor. Drive them into the shed at night and outside during the day. I should be able to keep them outside a lot longer that way. But if I have to put them all in bigger pots I’ll have to pick an choose who gets the sunshine. My back won’t be able to handle loading and unloading the cart. I got too many burgs.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Donnita, they will survive, I water mine only twice a week in the winter, no care whatsoever!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Phyllis... I am sooo glad you finally decided to join us.. we are all Hotties.. NOT because of the weather..LOL Because we are woman... watch us GO!!!... well that is all Clemies fault.. she started this hottie stuff!! Me and Peg.. you'll like her too..lol say we are HOT because we sweat bullets!!
In fact.. you will like everyone here... just a bunch of good girls.... cept BONNIE.. if she doesn't get back home!!..lol

DONNA... I can't believe you have buds this fast... waaaaa what am I doing wrong??? I haven't sprayed anything.. maybe that is the problem?? BUT I am sooo happy for you!!! At least I know now what to look for in the buds

awww Clemie.. that new rebirthing suit fits you to a tee!!..lol you are just too cute.. and why do you worry about weight?? You are skinny!!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Just got back from my mg meeting. They talked to us about the ash bore, not a good thing and they have been found in Missouri now....dang.

On vacation friday....yeah, what is the difference between scattered storms, and isolated thurderstorms, that is what they are calling for Friday and Saturday....sound like the same thing to me.

Versi Peach has some beautiful blooms again. I can't get home in time to take pictures. They are so long and dangle straight down.

Thank goodness haven't seen many grasshoppers yet......and yes they will eat your screens, and paint right off your house, they aren't real picky when it comes to eating.

Welcome newbie's, you will learn alot...LOL and not always about brugs.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Tell me how to positively tell if I have a "y"! I think I have some on this new one, but I'm not sure!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Audrey... look at Donna's pics.. that's a pretty good pic to see what we need to see..lol

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

heya hotties! Welcome Phyllis! Awwww Donna, now you know I am jealous of all those buds! Clemen, love the change and I can't wait for you to post your flower pics. That Cereus is Serious! LOL Spent yesterday buying tub and plumbing for the new shop. Going to go with Will today and Paint the windows and he is going to plumb. Just need a dryer now and the shop is ready for biz!!! I will take some pics today! Joyce here is my only caladium pot. I did underplant my EE's with caladiums but the ones I bought are too big, nearly 3 feet tall, so it defeated the purpose lol. I need minis this year for the bottoms of the pots. Hey has anyone ever heard of a 4 foot tall marigold? Mine are 4 feet tall!

Good morning Hotties
Really nice pic's....(I'm drooling)
I envy you's that can plant them in the ground and keep them there....
It must be nice....
It's still freezing here this morning....
Guess before it decides to warm up it'll be fall

Natives....LOL i'm surround by natives but here we call them weeds....LOL (no offence)
But I guess where some of you's are your natives are what I like...

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Mornin Phyllis... LOL that is right!! The stuff around us we think of them being weeds.. but your weeds are LOVELY..LOL And I have a big problem that I want what everyone else has...I was amazed what people wanted when I went to my 1st RU. One dger I had been talking to, told me..list those natives!! WOW... I was in the woods for days!!..lol...

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

I have Queen Anne's Lace..She's just outside some of my beds looking in....Joe Pye Weed...Sweet William (mixed colors) though I do have a bed of them...Their sooo pretty
Can't believe anyone would want Golden Rod but it's listed in my carefree plant book...There's lots of things with nice flowers but they'll take over if you let them...In my mixed daylily/Iris bed I let what ever can compete with them grow..
It's planted along the edge of the woods...Now who would want Bull Thistle?? OUCH

Good Day all you Hotties! I missed you ALL! (I'm trying to catch up, but not very successful). Things went great with the Ft. Jackson family day and graduation, Drew's GF's folks drove straight through to make the graduation. We took in the zoo and a ghost tour in Columbia. Once we got our new soldier to Ft. Lee, they put her on 2 week lock down so our vacation ended abruptly. We were pretty bummed, Drew was beside himself and I was in tears. Things were very hectic in SC and we were so looking forward to our vacation starting at the beach in VA. Drew's car had problems so we limped home early. I came home to 5 brugs in bud and lots of hibiscus blooms. I took a couple rest days and now I'm gettingt in gear again, trying to get some help to dig my plants and bulbs for the dirt work to begin around the foundation. Trying to get the car problem figured out too. Welcome to Hottie Phyllis! Keep the pics coming! Drew and Lauren, and Lauren's "boot camp buddies". They graduated 10 companies, it's almost overwhelming, they do it practically every week, and that's just the Army. Many are just 16 and 17 years old. I pray for peace.

Oh yeah and I do have green grass that you can take your shoes off and walk around in without worrying about stepping on those little things you's have...My DSD told me once do not take your shoes off...
Didn't listen...Ouch big mistake....What are they anyhow...
We have Prickers and Thistle but I banned them from my lawn...if I see one it's out of here..

Oh and no chiggers or fire ants...

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

My DD was in Ft Jackson SC then to FT Lee,Va.
We went to her graduation..but had to stay on base....Movies.... Bowling...Dinner...
They wouldn't let us take her to Ft Lee It was just after 911...
At Thanksgiving time we went down to Ft Lee see her...They almost didn't let her out...
I took the whole Thanksgiving dinner with me so she could eat some good food....
She was NG so was her DH....
Their both out now....
I pray for peace too...

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Phyllis you and I were born the same year...1959! The year Alaska and Hawaii became states...LOL. Heya Bonnie! I am sorry your vacation did not go as planned. What a great pic of them! God Bless and keep her safe and all of our troops! My nephew is is the air force, so far he has not been deployed. I hope he never is! He is stationed in Ga and I bought his wonderful wife Kim a DG subscription, because she is really getting into plants. Well it is off the paint windows, see you all later with pics....

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Louise, I'm so happy your dream is becoming a reality. Won't be long till you're open for business! Very nice of you to buy a DG sub for Kim, she is with him in GA? Drew has his world geared for October 5th, she gets to come home (we HOPE). Hey I have buds on my hoya! First time ever for me! It's raining today. Just as well, matches my mood. No digging right now, as my diggers would surely melt. lol
