She's about to..... #10

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Beck, I'm not on pills for that yet, will see my dr. Thurs. I hope I don't have to take any, I take enough now!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Oh Audrey, me too. Thyroid and blood pressure, aspirin and vitamins. Doc wanted me to be on a cholesterol one even though it was not high, but I hated that so went off. Too many side affects. It is soo lovely here today. Cool, light breeze, got all the wee wacking done! Gonna go play in some potting soil!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Here is something else that smells heavenly tonight! Home made cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I need some comfort food!

Boy I had one of those days, the computer that runs the printers died first thing this morning, course this is the day we have to get ap checks and payroll out....fun fun. Course DH calls and wnats to know if I will be home early so we can get his truck out of the shop...I work like crazy, call him at 4 and tell the recorder I am on my way, (I live 50 miles away from home) drive like crazy, and guess what he isn't here, he had someone take him....guess the phones were out of order....

Sorry didn't mean to whine but!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

ohhhhhh huggsss our loved ones can drive us to drink sometimes LOL. It is margarita time!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Hi everyone,
Wow you hotties have been yapping. I just got home, didn’t have time to read it all, will have to catch up later. Just popping in to say hi, long day and need to sleep.
Boy those buns look great, going to wish I could grab one in the morning.
Joyce, sounds like you had a killer day, hope your night goes better.
Have a good night all.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Louise, I have a coaster from On the border, that says "Life is too short to drink small margaritas"!! LOL, I love it.

I am attaching a kind of wierd planter I planted with odd shades of green coleus.
It has really grown well, but they are really odd colors.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Actually now that I think of it, it is margarita colors...LOL kind of that odd green.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

That is a really pretty planter! I love the color combo. I will have to post my caladium pot tomorrow, has some neat leaf types in there. I hope I can over winter it because I really like it. is that creeping jenny in there?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Yes, that is creeping jenny. I really like it in pots and I have used it alot and really not had a problem with it.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

LOUISE, get back to work, we can't deal with all of your food, like Audrey says, she gained 5 pounds, I gained 50 by looking at ot, lol, Clemen

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

lol it has been nice to be able to cook! Gets me in to trouble though! I also like to eat it.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

So what did you make tonight anyway?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Louise, do post your caladiums, I have fallen in love with those. I overwintered a few last year. All I did was leave them in the pot and let them dry up. I maybe once or twice all winter. Then started watering in spring, actually they started popping up and I started watering.

Love this copper coleus. It really is this color. Wish the lobster claw was blooming it is so funny looking.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

oh I love that too! I really need to do more coleus. Maybe I will just order a tray of plugs in the spring. I only have one coleus, but I do have two different perilla, which I think rival coleus and they reseed so I have hundreds in the spring with no work. This is perilla magilla in this old wash tub planter. Clemen we had a southwest hobo hash for dinner, you know the potatoes, eggs, cheese all cooked together.

Hello Hotties just checking in. I have been sooooo busy. Hope each of you are well! Pass the no calorie buns ; } I never heard of perilla very pretty.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

The purple perilla reseeds like crazy but I just love it. It is one of those pretty thugs.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

This is my first year for the plant. I bought it when AuntB and I went to Arnolds Nursery. It reseeds in our zone? Great...glad to know that. Love any plant that wants to give back as long as it doesn't take over...LOL

Foggy this morning, hate driving to work in it cause I can't see the deer. In 4 years 3 deers have ran into me. 1 hit the back quarter panel passenger side, 1 hit the passenger side when I had my Mom with me , and 1 on New Years Eve totaled my car....that was awful.
It makes me a little jumpy now.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, those little deer, are not so sear, when they smack your car. They can do a lot of damage! Please be careful.
I love the coleus also. My first year also, and they come in so many colors.

Good morning all. I have pods again!!!! On a plant I'm not sure what color it is and I wasn't really watching! (anyone know what C Alba is??) Grasshoppers pretty much stipped all the leaves off about half of my brugs so they look pitiful. After spraying, they are starting to grow back, and fuller, but still look "naked"! I'm not posting pictures of these pods until I know they are going to stay on the plant!!! Wonder what color they will be???

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yipee, I am so glad you have pods. How big are they?
I wish I had pods. I know I have to have patience, but still can't wait.
I got some liquid sevin spray, and that seems to keep the grasshoppers off my brugs, but now they are eating my miniature roses!!!! They are definitately stubborn little creatures.
Linda Kay

(Cathy), MO

I know, they totally stripped several of my plants. Nothing left but stems. I sprayed the brugs, but it was too late to save most of the leaves on some of them. Didn't spray any other plants and they are eating them up alive! That Sevin works but got a bit expensive! I got a concentrate bottle and am going to respray this weekend. I may do a few extra plants then, but brugs for sure!

The pods are maybe 3 inches long. I'm paranoid now. Don't want to take pictures or anything until I know they are going to stay! :-)

I got some double tuberose in a coop last fall, and the flowers are starting to open up. Talk about smelling good!

(Jan) So Milw, WI(Zone 5b)

Ohhhhhhh, OHHHHHHHH!!!! Lavender4ever---Can I, MAY I, have some of the seeds from both of your perillas??? Please???

Jan

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Jan you are more than welcome to have seeds this fall. Dmail me so I have you in my request file. The purple reseeds with abandon and I adore it. It is easy to pull where you don't want it. It gets lots of comments. The magilla is sterile and has to be increased through cuttings. I will happily send you some cuttings to over winter when I collect seeds! Here is a picture of some of my purple growing in the border.

Cat I cannot wait to see your buds!!!! Congrats!!

(Cathy), MO

Thanks but I'm not going to get too excited this time! LOL. Will wait and see if the drop!
I did notice I have 2 more "Y'ing" now, so hopefully it won't be long.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

woohoo! Mine are going to make me wait until next year. But then again, they are just this year seedlings. Post some pics of your plants!

(Cathy), MO

I'll take some new ones this weekend, but only of the plants that still have leaves! The "grasshopper fodder" plants would be embarrassed if I posted their bara pics! :-0

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

lol I have a few swiss cheese brugs right now too from the darned things. Luckily they seem to be leaving the brug forest alone. It is the stragglers that I have sprinkled around the perimeter of the yard that are suffering the worst damage. I saw a piece on the news about how bad the grasshoppers are this year.

(Cathy), MO

They are horrible here! Last night I went in the bathroom to close the blinds about 8, and saw 3 of them on the screen outside the window! Don't know if they are thinking of trying to eat my screens now or what!! LOL

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Mornin girlies.....
ok... ya'll have been at it again..lol.. I won't try to catch up right now.. hope ya'll all have a great day.. I'm gonna see what I can get into digging in the dirt..lol TTYL!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Congrats Cat on your pods. Think Alba is white.
And as for grasshoppers..they invade my brug collection but left all the variegated ones alone. Also, the extreme heat has caused a lot of yellowing of the leaves ... don't think it's the watering cause the ones that are in dappled shade all day long are doing fine.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hi hotties, did you notice something different about me????

And this is the cereus this morning!

Thumbnail by Clemen
(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Aw... the Clemen has been reborn..LOL Girl.. those blooms look kinda scary..LOL.. kinda like they might slither out and grab you!! I know they aren't "ripe" yet
heaven scape.. good to see you!!

I am getting some kind of "stuff" on some of my brug leaves.. and I noticed it on some other plants as well. Doesn't look like a fungus but I have no clue what it is. Kinda like white /yellow specks and the leaf is lighter green?? Any help from the brug masters??

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Becky no brug problems ok, no diseases, spray them with something. What you need is BLOOMS!!!! Yeah that cereus looks scary, buds about 5 inches now, supposed to get to about 12 inches, we should see!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Where is everybody at...???? I know... we miss Bonnie.. and Peg !!!!!!!!!
Clemie... I just looked at my brugs.. nothing that even resembles a bloom!! But I got down..LOL and looked at the leaves... there is some kind of .. I'm guessing here... maybe "poop"... on the top and bottoms of some of the leaves.. just weird..LOL

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Yippy
One Ecuador Pink
I can’t believe I miss this one until tonight.
Happy burg mom
