ET Fall RU 10-11-08 Trade List

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Can anyone tell me what this beauty is called? I don't recall who gave it to me. I just know it was in Jacksonville. I would love to know it's name, and who was the wonderful person who shared it with me. I absolutely love it.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Pam, you can have all the apple mint you want! (You do know how invasive it is, don't you? I never give it to anyone and let him think it will be well-behaved. It has a wonderful fragrance, but it has murdered everything in my large herb bed except for the rosemary and one sad lavender.)

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Lynea, if you have enough, I'd love a start of the nanus glads too. I have red resurrection or surprise lilies in full bloom now. Do you have those?

Gilmer, TX

Thanks patrob, for telling me this is a 'Bad Boy' mint. I keep all my 'Bad Boys' in pots so they can't takeover the world. Will find him a nice big pot.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Gotcha down Pam :)

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Apple is the baddest of the bad boys! lol But he does smell good!

(Maggi) Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

As I recall, the Apple Mint IS the baddest, but it does smell so good and I love that leaf. I have a nice big area outside the regular garden, I could take some off your hands too, if you want to dig more. Let me know what you have on you wish list.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

I have you down for apple mint, Maggi. It thanks you, and I thank you for giving some of it a home. The other 150 square feet of it would like to find a home too before RoundUp time. And I am not talking about a DG RU!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Well y'all have been busy my connection kept going out every time I went to get on this afternoon....
We had the storm here too brought down a big limb from the dead pine but that was about it.

I'll gladly take any bulbs off anyones hands if they have extra

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Catlady, I have you down for the agave plant
Linda Kay

Gilmer, TX

You mean I'm saving the 'Bad Boys' from the gas chamber? I'll have to remind them of that if they try to jump their pot.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Pam.. glad you found something you like!! (BTW.. I have more than 5 that I listed..LOL) watch Lorraine.. though.. she will swear you stole hers.. and grab yours too!!..LOL

Rusk, TX(Zone 8a)

Cocoa, my naked ladies(spider lilies) and the Amarylis are both red. I can bring you some for a start of your red glads.
Eyes, the myrtles are about 18" tall. I'll put your name on them unles I hear otherwise.
Wayne

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Charlene that looks like cape honeysuckle. I have plenty if I get to come. Anyone?

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Good morning everyone! I just realized this morning that I have only heard from one person by DMail that they would like to have the door prizes again, but no one here on the forum has given me any ideas yet on a fair price limit, etc. I wanted to check in with you today and see if you are all interested in doing the door prizes again, and what price range we should shoot for?

Can you please tell me your ideas/suggestions on this? Do we want to do them again? I need your input to organize things in a good way. Thank you all, love and hugs, Karen

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

You are absolutely right IloveJesus. It is a cape honeysuckle. Please save one for Becky who is not online because she is in church. She will want one I know for certain. Thanks for naming my mystery plant.
Charlene

(Maggi) Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes on door prizes!

I will post to other thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/891510/

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Karen.. Yes on door prizes here too!!

Charlene.. nope to church.. we are playing hooky..LOL Our backs are like ol tires this morning.. completely worn out.. hehe

Ilovejesus.... It is pretty.. but if it's a vine.. we don't get along..LOL Emma has me trying MG's.. and they are about to eat my lunch!! I also have wysterias.. and right now they are quite happy climbing my crepe myrtle..dad gum it!!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

cape honeysuckle..I'll gladly take some off anyones hands I still have alot of fence to cover LOL

Becky ...hahahahaha on the wisteria ...I know the feeling ..we had it all over the place that is where I got all the vine to make the baskets I did last year...but now since DH has kept things mowed we don't have that much.
I would ask for some but I have to have it when it is still green and not dry. the green branches don't seem to hold up as well to get them ready for baskets.

My morning glories are doing wonderful I put some in the "well" and have to watch them as they try to come out the roof LOL

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

should we have a price range on the door prizes? Maggi had asked me how you would value something hand made......I say no price range, just make sure it's something nice that you would like to receive, not just any old something used or thrown in the car. I plan on making something home made myself......

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

it is hard to price something homemade and I hate doing that I never price things right I'm cheap LOL..meaning I never put the right price when I did stained glass pieces for sale.
Plus we don't want to say ti has to be X amount to be considered a door prize as not everyone can afford x amount.

Just make it something you would want to receive as a door prize...gardening tool, gardening book, plant, something homemade, gift basket or bag it doesn't even have to be garden related just something that would be enjoyed by anyone..male or female.
example ......when I went to buffalo I made up a basket that had bath stuff in it and a home made candle.....ask Becky if she enjoyed it as she ended up with it LMAO

Becky, got you down for foxgloves.

Pam, got you down for the glads.

Maggie, would love a offset of the pale amarylis. Got you down for glads.

Patricia, got you down for glads.

Wayne, sorry I got you confused with Kenboy. Got you down for glads. How much variegated liriope do you need (i have plenty)? I already have red of both those bulbs, but may I get an offset of your Milk and Wine?

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

Guess I gotta just park myself here so I get to some of the stuff before it's all gone. sniff sniff
Petrob, I'll take some mint off your hands and save it from the ru.

Coco, could I have a couple of the glads?

I'll add some stuff to my list tomorrow and if anyone wants them this late, I have some purple hyancinth bean vines. Don't know if they will winter inside, but anyway...........

By the way, went to Maggie and Ken's yesterday to help pot some stuff. They almost worked me to death and all I got to eat was bread and tea!!! Can you believe that!!!

Did I forget to say , it was homemade fresh out of the oven with cinnamon butter and honey. ? he he he. I was in heaven. Ken said I didn't work hard enough for honey, but I got some anyway!!!

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll put you down for apple mint, Lorraine. Only 149 square feet more to find a home for! Of course, since the rains this week and last, it is growing very rapidly. I mowed today and got some of it that had grown out into the yard. Delicious fragrance!

Phyllis, I have white yarrow if you would like some. It is in bloom in June and is good filler with its fern-like foliage.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay all.........we will not have price amounts on any door prizes. Just try to put thought into your gift and make it something you would really enjoy receiving. To get a door prize you must bring one. We will take a short break after lunch and pass them out ☺ Love to all, Karen

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

patrob that would be wonderful I am trying to find things to plant with the roses and that is one thing they mentioned in stuff I have read...

was just trying to think where I could put some of the apple mint to help ya find a home for it ...LOL

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, I've got you down for white yarrow and apple mint (if you want some.)

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

sure I'll take some I'm sure I can find a spot it can take over out back if nothing else LOL and a pot to put it in to contain it otherwise

I am thinking maybe we need to start a new trade thread this is getting very long and I'll link the new one to this one too
