thanks onewish and donnybrook.
Onewish ...gadzookes!!! sooo much blooming in your yard. pics are great.
DonnieBrook... Your garden looks great. The flowers on the spirea are white, or white with a pinkish tinge. But, I would hardly know since the deer have taken to eating them the last few year. But, I think that the flower buds are much more interesting than the flowers themselves. and they last quite a while. http://bp3.blogger.com/_8St-ONY2y-4/RklFwRzHgXI/AAAAAAAAAok/tUhVTAC6xH4/s1600-h/Spiraea+%C3%97+vanhouttei+%E2%80%98Pink+Ice%E2%80%99.JPG I have a much better picture of the buds of my own that I have at home on my computer. Will be a couple of days though.

Who says it's not?!!! it tried to attack!

For a little bit I thought I was being neurotic in backing off from it. My crew laughed at me. But, a two guys on my crew wanted to see if they could put it on grass to turn it green. It charged at one and he hopped back, then it lept at the other and he let out a sort of "Ack". Needless to say no one was laughing at me anymore!
HOLY KRAP RC!!!!!!!!
Be carefull out there in the woods.
no problem! It made for a much more interesting day.
Very nice Jo Ann! I like the DL!
I agree. That DL is dark and bright all at once.

Very nice Pixie
Great mantis shots, Shelly. The thalictrum did not return the following spring. Yes, Jen, Limelight is a paniculata and is not affected by pH. It goes from white to green.
I love Straw Flowers! I think they are so neat and last sooooooo long!
Pixie...these mixes came from your neck of the woods....Johnny's Selected Seeds. I think they have one more mix too....
Johnny's is only about 15 miles away, i'll have to look into those!
