I think I have flowers !

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

analog, saw the first buds openings, not the last two, so I am happy I was able to see some, anyway!

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

Most excellent.

I probably would have been on my knees sobbing (I know its strange to hear a guy say that) to have missed that bloom. But then again, I probably would have needed wild horses to pull me away from watching.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

lol

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

You better believe it, I'll stay up with you, have you seen her tonight?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

her? as in the flower?

I moved the plant into the greenhouse, as we are having a nice heavy t-storm .... and I know I won't want to swim out the back yard later to take pictures!

:-)

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

WILLIE, she is a girl ok (the plant) , not a boy! lol

So no blooms tonight with your rain, lets hope it is a quick one!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Well, like I said, I moved HER :-) into the greenhouse, so I don't have to worry about the rains.

I am thinking she'll blast tonight .... if not .... then definitely tomorrow night.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Here we go again. Good luck on your flowers.

Wren, what is wrong with Willie and Laura, GUYS GO AND CHECK NOW, lol, we ae waiting anxiously! Clem

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Maybe they are afraid that Fay may come up there and get them. I would like it to send it to some one.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Ok Willie is in NY and laura in MA, mmmmmmmmnnnnnnn, not close to Fay tonight, guys, wake up we are waiting, ok wren lost hopes!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I don't know that storm already stretches from the east coast of Florida to west of New Orleans and up to Atlanta, Ga.

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

Ok I am awake I check on mine up untill about 10 last night they I went nite nite, still no white
fay is one amazing storm! how are you staying dry wren?
Laura

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Was not easy to stay dry Special sense the darn dog would not go outside with out me. Luckly the city finial after 50+years put in new drains so the street did not flood. All my 100+ epis are on our carport even there they get wet but not drowned. We have sun and the temps are in the 70's!!!!!! But we may have rain this afternoon, darn.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Woo Hoo .... Sunshine Daydream!! Wren, Glad to hear you are sunny, today!

Maybe we will get some blooms going tonight ..... I will have to check on mine and report.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes we have a beautiful sunny sky. The temps are not to bad but boy that humidity is already up there.
But I swear that storm looks like it is heading back this way. I think I will leave my epis on the carport until that thing disappears!!!!!!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I am wondering how long it will take to make its way up to Buffalo.

We usually get the last gasping remnant of the serious stuff y'all suffer.

Low tonight of 53ºF, here. Brrrrrrrr. bringing in the rest of the tenders already.

:-(

(Zone 1)

The past two days have been sunny and gorgeous here! So glad "Fay" made her way out of here. We were very fortunate that we didn't have any flooding or damage, just a few palm fronds and branches to pick up from the yard. Some folks in our county had 15" of rain and water in their homes and one county south of us had @35" of rain and major flooding. I feel so bad for those who suffered the wrath of that storm!

.... now there's another in the Tropics, will be named Gustav by this afternoon according to weather reports. Could be a catagory 2 hurricane by this weekend! Last I heard some of the models have it aiming right for Florida! If it is a cat 2 storm down in the Carribean it could very easily intensify and become more powerful by the time it reaches the gulf. Yikes! Looks like this time next week may find us bringing plants in, securing outdoor furniture etc. and battening down the hatches once more!

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

here is my baby tonight what do you think? one more night ?
laura

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Hi Laura, I can see the white part, that is what made me think mine would bloom that night it did, just wondering if it would happen to you if not, tomorrow FOR SURE!

The night before it opened around 2 pm that day!

I don't think we'll be having a bloom here, tonight. Seems a bit bigger, but still not "showing"

Can't wait to see your "progression" Laura

(Zone 1)

Woo Hoo! Looks like you are going to have a bloom tonight ... and, I see another bud peeking out under a leaf there so you will have another one soon too!
