Victoria Harbour, ON

Three finds...the black door with a wonderful metal art sunflower in the middle, will fit perfectly in one of the gardens..probably the one that has stepping stone that could lead to this door..thought I'd cement in 2 - 4"x4" pieces for support and then add the door...

A nice bird house..will look pretty somewhere lol

Of course same guy that was in Meaford last year at apple festival who sold me the 3 large metal blue herons had this sunflower..a must...

Have several bags of odds/sods but cannot show you them...one never knows how they'll be used...sorry!!!

Waiting for the men to deliver my set and have called Anne and Mike to pick up the other..cushions outside but 3 pieces much too heavy for me, so off I go, tomato sandwhich sounds wonderful..have more photo's to share...

Yet another day tomorrow looking for 'treasures'

Hi All! Happy Saturday! It is hot as blazes here and only a very small chance (which means none) of rain. Getting all my chores done today because we're meeting DH's sisters and their DHs down at Buggs Island lake tomorrow for some fun. It will feel so nice with this heat! Have to also spend some time on my class work since my final test &* book are Tuesday.

The puppies will be 6 weeks old monday! I threw out a suggestion to the breeder for a new theme for the litter - Jimmy Buffett - and I think (and hope) she is going to go with it. If she does, I am almost 95 % sure I will name our dog Sailor (Betty, just realized yours is named that too!) DH & DD are too thrilled with that name (who names a girl 'Sailor'? I said: Christie Brinkley, that's who!). Anyway, I also like 'Delaney' which is one of Jimmy Buffett's DD's name. So we'll see. I really like 'Sailor'! Here are some pics from yesterday - I think they had just had a bath!

GG--

They are SO sweet! Look like stuffed toys....
How could anyone separate one of them from the others? Seems they are so bonded!
I bet you'll have a whimpering puppy on your hands when you do.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I want to live where Betty is and have one of those puppys. Ordered some more Day Lilies so will be planting tonight. I am not buying anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS BEV

Ah Bev, your yellow flowers look like the frilly white ones I have... may I have some seeds??? please please...

Gita, looking around the garden to see some of the beauties that may have come up from yours, know quite a bit did take, just not sure what..one day I'll take a bunch of photo's and you can see if any survived??

Darlene called 3 times, each time they set out it starts raining, so told her it was sunshine here, but within minutes it started to pour...Mike and Anne came and got my sectional and are pleased so here I am, waiting for B&B guests and no couch..but that's ok..there's a lovely couch and t.v. in the family room...

Jeannine, they are just adorable...yep, my Sailor is a girl..seems odd but suits her...won't be long and Murphy will be enjoying his sister...

Vicki LOVE the garden display, so country..would look lovely here in my garden..

Carol, wow that's big bucks isn't it???? thank goodness for Roger's Cable - $124. monthly and that's high speed and almost all the channels..probably a lot to some, but shucks, don't drink, don't smoke gotta have something to entertain me...bet you think you've died and gone to heaven with all those channels...

B&B guests have not arrived..I have to go food shopping (yep kept a few bucks for that) just need fruit, juices and maybe a few treats for the children..

Will have to show you my screen 'bugs' simply put their feet in the screen and it prevents you from walking into it..cute as a bug...ha/ha

What else, oh, saw the cutest muchrooms done with rhubbarb leaves and cement with the base from a trunk of a tree...need some..not so sure that will be on this weekends agenda...but, there's always next week...

Just swept up all the decks, dug 2 holes for the sun flower/door unit..would love to go pick up cement and set in the posts so tomorrow I could screw the door ..kind of moved it around, think I found it's home...

talk later...

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Betty you are welcome to anything I have. All those Blk eye suesans self sowed from last year. HUGS BEV

Thanks Bev...

Know it's early but I'm completely zonked out..managed to even get to Midland for Kentucky Fried Chicken and to pick up a rug...so I must say I'm calling this day - a DAY!!!

Had 3/4 of a swap done, put a little effort into it tonight - glue gun is my best friend..lol and I managed to finish it..because of all the light beard you really can't see his face much but he's handsome..so those of you who will be done our 2nd workshop..this is he..so you can see a few items you can be on the lookout for (already have Halloween things out) so Christmas can't be far around the corner...I've been pouring the faces and painting them when I have a few minutes to spare .. would like to get pkgs shipped out late Oct. early Nov.

Bed is looking mighty comfy to me...night all!

Everyone must be resting...well the Lady Lawyer (Rasolyn came for 2 night just she and her daughter so there went room #1, she didn't need the extra room...I just got to sleep when telephone, Best Western hotel asking if I could accommodate a man and 2 teenagers..said yes, 10 minutes later the gentleman called to say his children didn't want to stay at a B&B (not offense said he) so they would continue their trek to Sudbury - almost 250 miles from here...just got back to sleep and the telephone rang, Best Western again, 2 couples who are towing boats and doing the Trent Waterway were destitute so gave them the 2nd room, changed bedding and gave my room up..they are so appreciative..are sitting enjoying a glass of wine on back deck..lit the candle chandelier and they are pleased as punch..of course the women have fallen in love with my gardens and back tea room which gives me great pride in what I've accomplished in 4 years...they asked that I join them but I'll try and get back to sleep...they were shocked, asked if I took credit cards, shucks no - but I know how to put the bucks on credit cards..lol...so I told them there is a bank machine next door and if they couldn't use it, simply leave a check or mail it at a later date...what to h..k, it's just rooms I have doing nothing...so we'll see...they were saying that the hotel manager said people were sleeping all over in parking lots, no rooms..imagine...will have to drop in and thank them for the business...

Off I go, going to try this sleeping thing most people do one more time..

Oh my Betty."The hostess with the mostess".
What a day you had! I am sure you were working on adrenaline with all the excitement.
But what a feeling of pride you must have had showing them all your gardens and handpainted country treasures.

I'll bet you will be entertaining them with a lovely breakfast. So did you sleep on your sofa? Did you manage to sleep at at all??

I had a wonderful day yesterday. My children and grandkids and my neighbours all had a fun day. There were lots of laughs. We celebrated birthdays..mine ..which was July 30th. Scott's was yesterday and Mike's is in three weeks.
My daughter organized everyone to bring the food..I supplied the drinks and a few munchies. There were BBQ burgers hot dogs..and a huge fillet of Salmon that was so delicious. We had corn on the cob..my first of the season so sweet and tender from a local market. Greek sald Caesar Salad deviled eggs..and a decadent chocolate fudge nut brownie cake.

I received garden gifts of course..and was thrilled.
First off..from my eldest son Mike and family....a great hat to wear while gardening.and a garden sign that has a saying on it,,which I can't remember right now..it is outside.

Oh Carol I'm so glad you got spoilt..how could anyone not be with 'garden treasures' given as gifts..and not having to prepare food...

Downstairs couch is comfy..of course no couch upstairs..gave my other one away and then with the heavy rains we hate in the aft. they did not deliver MY couch..lol
Kind of sparce in the living room for company...

No cooking for me, just in process of making muffins, pray I don't burn them..usually it would be a breakfast but advised them because they called so late etc. that it would be muffins/toast/cereal/juices etc. and they were tickled pink they'd have a place to sleep let alone breakfast of any sorts..

Ooops be back in a few secs...muffins/muffins in the oven..

Hi gals so early in the morn!! I got up at 4 because Powder was screaming that she was hungry. That is what she gets for not eating before bed. Hope I can stay awake at church this morn. Sitting here drinking my coffee and enjoying the quiet time. Don't get much of that.
Betty I don't know how you do it!!!
Starrz, looks like you had a wonderful day and all the yards and gardens in Canada are so beautiful. Must be the soil and hard work up there. HUGS BEV

I was thinking of your famous homemade muffins as I wrote about your lovely breakfast.
..what could be better.
Somehow I knew you would be up with the birds cooking them.

After everyone left I went in the hot tub that Mike had just finsihed fixing on Sat. morning. It hadn't been working since last fall.He put in a whloe new spa pak and pump with new controls..it was so soothing after all the excitement..I was sitting there just relishing all the fun of the day.

This is my next door neighbour's garden that they just finished yesterday. I gave them three dwarf daylily's..four hostas and and two heucheras from my garden..and they purchased an Astilbe and a Yarrow. Looks so lovely!

Hi Bev..
It is all the rain we have had that makes everything look so lush right now. It actually rained yesterdsy about half an hour before everyone arrived..and then the sun came out.
I tell you I was so happy. There were 17 of us ...and all the plans were for BBQ..couldn't have worked out better.
Mike did the Salmon on my Weber charcoal grill and Ron did all the burgers and dogs on the gas grill which my osn brought over from his house in his truck.

My goodness..your Powder must be like having a new baby in the house...but I bet you are loving it!
Your Highbush Cranberry looks like it is turning for fall already. Very pretty.

Hello to all - good to see that we had a lot of early birds this morning. For the past two mornings I have been sleeping until about 7:30 or so. That is out of the ordinary for me who is usually up anywhere between 1:30 and 4:30 AM. This means that I am way behind on morning chores.

Betty, the Santa Claus is really adorable!!! Cute as can be. Wonderful about the B & B guests. Yep, a little extra pocket change never hurt a soul. ha-ha

Starzz, what an exciting day you had yesterday. We had a family get together to celebrate several in our family who have August and September birthdays also. I had a great time and got some pictures that I will try to post at some point today.

One set of my pictures are of a hunting trophy room at my brother's house. Would anyone be opposed to me posting some of them here? If anyone is totally anti-killing wild beast or if anyone is squeamish about the whole subject, I will pass and not post any of the tropies. It is just that this trophy room is of museum quality. I have never seen so many animal heads and so forth in one setting.

Anyway, I hope that all of you will be enjoying your Sunday. Will check back in again later on today. Off to tend to chores.
