They're coming to take me away, ho ho
They're coming to take me away, ha ha
Harry has earned his after dinner treat! You get 'em, Harry.
Visit to Pirl's Garden
Welcome Kaleem! Good luck with your move. I'm Harper.
Cigarette boats...I had a friend who owned one for a year or so...he referred to it as a hole in the water that sucked the money out of his wallet. I referred to it as a nuisance on our water and get rid of it. He did! I still don't have a deer problem:) And OSee seems to have solved the bunny problem.
Are we still celebrating Harper's Birthday ? LOL
Hells Bells, Why not??
I'll go get more ice...
I'll bring the drinks! What are we all having?
Crystal Lite for me but the rest of you can imbibe in anything you like.
I'll drive.
Happy birthday, Harper! Let JoAnn drive and we'll serve you wine next time you come down.
Silly me, I haven't wished you a Happy Birthday yet this month.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Harper
Enjoy the party!
JD is bringing the church Starbucks.
Sounds like ge1836 has volunteered to be the "designated decoy" !
I'll do it ,decoy sounds like an adventure is underway.
I love adventures! Make me 5 inches tall and set me out into Arlene's garden with that glass of wine. WooHoo! What an adventure!
At 5" tall the wine glass would be taller than you, Harper!
Harper, you could do the backstroke in the wine.
Not a bad way to drown!
When we were kids, we had a series of books caled The Teeny Weeny people...they lived in trees and gardens and their swimming pool was a tea cup. Sometimes they would ride on a birds back, sleep inside of flowers, and all sorts of imaginative things like that.
Harper's idea sounds like fun! (Either that, or a bad acid trip ! LOL )
OHHH mah GAWD
I loved the teeny weenies.
They were a daily box in the cartoon page.
I loved the little general with a kneedle as a sward and the upside down thimbals as chairs around the mushroom table.
Not sure we hadthe bok but everyday there was a big race to the mailbox to get the paper first.
Brenda Starr Reporter was the absolute woman and her romance with the mysteryman with an eye patch, then the Teeny Weenies It took an hour to look at everything, and everyd ay it was different.
Those books are collector's items now.
I never knew they were in the comic strips, though.
Our books vanished...no one seems to know where they are. One of my sisters bought one on ebay and paid a small fortune for it.
I don't remember having that book. One I do remember was writtin in the late 1800-1900. I had to buy it from an antique book dealer, no Ebay at th time.
"The Waterbabies"
Do you know of it.
Awonderful nature book.Victorian morality.Fantastin Illustrations really beautiful by these days standards.
I read it to a childrens drawing class while they drew the pictures in their minds as I read.
Some kid stole it.
I am not a reader but the book held such warm memories for me. I just had to replace it.Cost$50.00 in 1980.
I know the waterbabies .... was one of my fav. books & movies growing up

Kaleem - your city and the surrounding area are very beautiful, as are your caladiums and bromeliads. 300 containers to move?!!!! Wow. Hope it goes well. Please make sure to post some pics of the caladiums, etc. in their new home. Looks like you were having some thunderstorms there too! It may be a big world, but in the end, we're all just digging in the same big old garden, huh??? LOL
Wow - totally missed this thread. I bet there's another of the afternoon at Arlene's. I am so sad I missed it. I had a wonderful time last year. Arlene - you and Jack have outdone yourselves this year. Your veggie garden looks fantastic. I love the tomato support idea!
A few people who were at the 7/26 party are coming out in September, Anita. When I get dates I'll let you know and I hope you'll join us. We missed you, too!
DANG why do I live so far away.
Send pics of that get together.
You guys are killing me.
I'm salivating !
A wonderful cold salad of coconut, pineapple and raisins, once more from Michelle.
Now I wish even more that I could have been there. All of the salads sound wonderful, and those tomatoes are little works of art. What a delicious and pretty buffet! Perfect for a garden party.
