It's getting thick out there. high of 85 some clouds
74 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and little wind at all. Showers predicted for tomorrow which we could use and mostly cloudy with chance of showers the next 4 or 5 days. Figured it was a good time to plant the 'Coppertina' ninebark, so that has been done. Been too hot and humid to do much out there lately. Each morning before it heats up I have been deleting a few things. Hope by the end of the month things will have cooled a little so I can move and divide a few things. Still have three shrubs to plant too.
I don't get going again until Sep. Heat, bugs and the kids keep me away!

That rain on Saturday was good. The bonus was that it stopped and everything to dried off in time for my patio dinner party! Sunday was the best day yet. Cool and no humidity! Loved it!

It's been raining steady for almost 2 hours. There's a chipmunk in my birdfeeder and I don't think he wants to get wet-he's been in there over 20 mins! The poor birds are patiently waiting. I may have to go out there and make him share!

With the rest of new england getting too much rain this summer, my little section has been having a slight drought so every drop is very much appreciated. I'm with flowerjen about the rain. I think we might have had 2 days of rain in July.
When DH was jogging a couple of weeks ago, he came home all excited. A painter had 22 5-gal. paint buckets out for recycling, so DH went back with the car and picked up half of them, came home, drilled the smallest hole in the bottom, placed them around the gardens, filled them up(took 1 min @) and several hours later the plants were watered. It doesn't look so great, but hey it is getting the job done. We just move them around daily to hit a different area. The skeeters divebomb as soon as I open the door. I swear they just wait. He says he is going to get more the next time recycling day comes around. They stack very nicely. Until we put in an irrigation system this will do just fine.
