Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

All the Boston weather guys were talking about late yesterday afternoon and last evening were all the storms and inches of rain falling. I look out the window and blue skies and sunshine look back. Missed another chance for rain. Have a good shot at some today, maybe. Cloudy, calm wind and the temp is just 60 degrees.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Temp 64.8°, Wind NE 5.2, Rh 66%, Baro 29.62 steady. ☺

Very nice & cool comfortable morning, yesterday passing showers were very light, less than a tenth of an inch, ( 0.03" rain total). Though I love this weather, it is very strange... I don't ever remember it being this cool in August, - I've talked to others that say the same thing!
Crazy weather...

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Yeah! It's raining, hope it lasts a while.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

As you know I have had to fit stuff into spaces for years.
When I saw the six 14x20 boxes and two 12x12s and laundry basket,XGames, long tubular architecture gizzmo , in the kitchen , plus other odds and ends ,paper towels and TP, I knew with out a doubt he was never going to get it all into the two door coupe.
I tried to "stay out of it but,
I couldn't help myself and we repacked two of the boxes and eliminated one box.
The Skies HAD to go to FLORIDA ATLANTIC univ.
I asked the question" Are you going to do much skiing in the tropics?"
He has had a busy week and mumbled something so I let it go.
He's 20 and off to three more years of Arc. Engineering.
We did figure out how to put everything in except two boxes of Good clothes which will be sent to him wherever he lands.
Sad day for Grammie.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Sad day, but a proud day, too!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

He's a great young man, just starting to be an adult.
Went to Two years at a local college and came home most weekends to ski and watch football with his father.
We probably won't see him until Christmas.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Bands of rain moving through. Dark and cool. DH just brought in the oil tanker. They didn't hit anything in the harbor. He will be trying to get it out on the next tide. But he clipped a bumper of a car at the PO on his way home during one of the down pours while trying to avoid a jaywalker. Our truck is fine, but our insurance company will be replacing their tail light and bumper. oops. Patti

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

dagnabbit!

Thomaston, CT

Ironic---he manages a huge tanker! But jaywalkers are awful--I thought our town had the most--they never use the crosswalks! Very dark, rainy, & thundery until about 4pm when the sun came out---temps are cool---in the 60's--woke up with poison ivy on my face, right next to an eye--my DR. was not in---called his sub--his office was closed--if not better by morn, I'm headed for ER.

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

Sorry to hear about your case of poison ivy, ROBIN. Hope it's better soon. Our weather is much the same as yours, except this was the first rain we've had in about a week. I was happy to see it, even if we had to tolerate a thunderstorm.

South Hamilton, MA

Wet! wet! wet! This isn't getting new iris plants & seedlings moved in the garden!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What an absolutely gorgeous day it was today.

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

It is raining here right now, and I couldn't be happier! When everyone else was getting rain, tit would either dissipate or go right around us! No hose-dragging tomorrow either!

Currently 60 degrees.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's been raining either all day or part of the day for the last 7-10 days...things are starting to get black spot that never got it before and the shroom population is growing!
Also been a very cool August.
Currently cloudy with showers approaching and 61 degrees.

Raining again! I really need to mow my lawn!
Sunday night around midnight we were awoken to a thunderous clap which shook the house. Our power went out in half the house and the outside shed. The breakers were tripped off. Turns out that lightening hit the electric fence and literally blew-up the charger. It was in pieces, scattered for twenty feet! The plug and wire were just hanging from the outlet. Thankfully it only made charred marks and didn't burn the shed down.

This has been one scary weather season! We had a freaky night last night, but no damage.
