Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Kim, they are beautiful. The blooms are just wonderful. Wish we had smellaputer.
Looks like you live in the tropics not in snowbird country.
I had to look at your location twice to make sure you weren't from Florida.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

LOL! I wish..then I would not have to haul it all in come frost.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You can just mail them down here, I'll watch them for ya!!! DOn't know where I will put that many, but I can always make room...
Going to bed, I got a new tattoo last night, and it is still pretty sore.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Donna there is a thread, I think it was in the brug forum, where someone posted pictures of deficiencies and over fert and he used his brugs as the subjects. That one matches the too much nitrogen one. Kim when I brought two new hibiscus shrubs home yesterday, my hubby said.. You do know you are going to have to put these inside this winter right??!! LOL

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Thanks Louise, I’ve scanned that thread before but will read it now that I have a problem.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Good morning!!! Step out my door this morning and first thing, wow, fragrance all over from the jasmine to the brugs and no humidity and a nice breeze!!

She is so beautiful, so yellow! Gosh, I still find it hard to believe you've got them booming in NY. You bring them all in to overwinter, right?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I thought I posted this before, but I don't see it.
Please look at gordo's brug tree!!!
It is HUGE!!!

Hi Hotties. TGIF! Peg, so glad you had a real day off. I've missed so much of this thread, I'll never catch up... Such gorgeous bloom pics posted! Louise, maybe your lay-off IS a sign that it's time for you to make a go of the grooming business! And I like your positive attitude as well! I'm seeing those weird curling leaves Kim and Donna posted...... First thing I do when I notice some strangeness like that is move the affected plant(s) to an area away from the rest, quarantine so to speak. Donna, at first glance, broad mite comes to mind, the leaves are "humping up" crispy or dried out looking on the edges.. You could try a miticide and keep them away from your other brugs until you figure out exactly the problem. Kim, did you spray with neem or something and maybe the sun got to them too soon after? May be fertilizer/nitro problem, but your's look different that Donna's.. almost the opposite, yours are not "humping up" like hers, right? All you bloomless-thus-far Hotties, please hang in there, I got my first brugs from Logee's.. (Yr2000) they arrived in April and they were in 4 and 6 inch pots... The end of September when it was time to bring them in, they started popping.. Since I left mine green and growing under lights in the basement last winter, I really did expect I would see blooms, sooner that I did... but it was late when I was finally able to bring them outside... I'm striving to get blooms from May to October and if I hadn't trimmed Maya so harshly, I probably would have had blooms sooner... but it IS a learning process and I doubt I'll ever graduate brug school! It's taken 2 hours to compose this, darn work detail keeps interfering! Enjoy your day! (gotta go check out Gordo's brug)

Hellooo Hotties!

Beautiful blooms ya'll are posting. I agree, we need to get smellputer. Or at least sometimes.... :))

Still hot here. My trees have shed so many leaves, I need to rake, it's that dry...

Louise, I hated to hear your news, but this may be the nudge you were needing to get going on your business that you love. Blessing in disguise, ya know? I'll be rooting for you and keep reminding you of it. I am sure YOU, unlike someone else we know, will get it done without having to remind you over and over. Tee Hee, anyone checked on a greenhouse lately???

Naptime for me, again. I love to hate this schedule some times.

Oh, I've got a funny. Remember my passies? I planted three and one bloomed. Well, the one that bloomed is climbing the trellis real well. The other two, well, they keep winding around the impatiens and I have to go out and unwind them. I'm going to have to tie them to the trellis I guess, to make them do what I want. Here's the picture... Remember there are three passies out there all about the same size. Just what I needed, vines with minds of their own....

Lov ya, Peg

I am back!!!!!!!!!!! and I got the day off today...after a grueling week of EPA inspections and school bus inspections and Firecodes inspections..but we passed..in between of getting 9 boxes of brugs out to the coop people on Tuesday.. I scared this postmistress outta her mind when she saw me with all those boxes coming in...then she wanted to know what brugs was..but I could tell she wasn't a plant person since she was living in apartment and traveled on weekends..lol...she told me she didn't have any pets or plants in her apt..that way she could go anywhere she wanted to go!...lol...

I did get 9 more brugs planted..still got alot more to put in the ground..my brother helped me clear out another semi shade area to plant more...lol...along with all these gingers I collect too...

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

heya hotties. I have the crud! Came down with it last night , so trip to the doc today and now I am on bedrest with a nebulizer. I did sneak out to water, my babies depend on me and it is so hot here today. Peg love the hidden passi pic! lol Hi Bonnie. Clemen, those are very tall. Mine is only about five feet right now but doing well.
I saw a post where someone keeps her brugs in a five gallon holey bucket their whole lives. She then puts the holey bucket in the ground or another pot. In fall she cuts away the roots from the outside of the bucket and trims her brug back and then puts the bucket in a plastic bag and brings it in for the winter. Interesting and very portable. I may try one that way. Linda kay that is a big brug!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What is a holey bucket?
Linda Kay

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Holey bucket is like a drilled nursery pot or any 3 gallonish container for drilling out big holes in. You plant your brug in it, (use tissue or newspaper to line so the potting mix doesn't fall out the holes) Once planted in the pot, you plant it in the ground, in fall you sever the roots and store in the basement. I did Versi like that the first year..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Is it something you did yourself, or did you buy them somewhere?
You have a picture?
