Me, too, Peg! My neighbor and I have been sorta taking tyrns watering our plants, but she doesn't water mine enough! I think she's jealous 'cause mine are prettier than hers! Today before noon mine were drooping, so I watered them with a warweing pot, and they just perked right up! But no buds! I'll water my own from now on!
She's killed almost everything I've given her! She doesn't listen! I told her NOT to bury her iris. She did. They'll live, but they wont bloom. Last year I gave her some red dinnerplate dahlias. Showed her which end to put in the ground. She planted them upside down. She replanted them when I told her she'd done it wrong, she did it again. I quit telling her. I shared my mexican sunflowers. She's killed hers! Mine are BIIIG!
This is NOT the neighbor who helps me out so much. I just had a thought, could she be jealous of that? Lord knows I don't want him for a bf! I have one!!

I got to go out and see them last night...DH walked me outside after the sun went down :o) he is sooo wonderful, and now he's in love with brugs too! tee hee!
going to dr today... still dizzy n weak, still no sun for me cause my temp immediately goes back up! ugh! but feeling okay enough to sit at the regular computer, instead of the laptop :o)
I'll try to get a pix of my blooms tonight, there were a bunch on there! tee hee! If I cant get a pix, I'll send my DSS, maybe he can do better that DH! lol!

Ah, Anjl, way back on #1, you and I talked about which of us would have buds first! And now you've got blooms! WOW. You definitely won hands down. I have a 5 ft and 2 shorter, much shorter, but no buds in sight. But, I do not want them blooming in this heat, so I'll wait a little, sheesh, like it is my decision. :)
I have 4 huge buds on my newer H hibiscus that I hope don't fry. I so want to see those blooms. I'm watering like crazy, too, Audrey, but I don't have a neighbor who would even consider trading off. They just have grass and shrubs, some water and some don't, so my house looks definitely different from the others. My big brug is out in the front yard, because when it blooms (took out if!) I want all of them to see it!! Audrey, maybe you need to play matchmaker with your 2 neighbors.. then they both would help you...

I tried that once before, he's not interested! And there's two races to consider, and that can be touchy here, sometimes. This neighbor and I share a water faucet, and I put a short hose on it, 'cause the one management gave us wouldn't even let the water flow through! From now on, I'll water mine first!

Okay hotties, I’m in early tonight, just watered the pots that needed it. It was just one of those nights when the mess out there got to me. Tomorrow will be a new day and I’ll get over it.

I did go to dr this aftnoon, she gave me the rest of the week off, ugh! means boredom and NOT being able to do any gardening! this is more torture than anything else!
I received 2 shots in the hind end from a very nice looking male nurse....shhhh! dont tell DH! lol! and then came home and slept for 4 hours straight!
soo still no pix of my blooms, hopefully they last until toomorrow... how long do blooms last anyway?

Heya hotties. Spent the day with my sis going shopping and home depot had their cajun hibiscus on clearance for 4.99 so I got two more shrubs. Who can resist that price. I also got one of those alocasia? with the fancy leaves. Got that on sale too for 4.99 half price. We also bought yard art stuff on clearance at Lowes. They actually have some nice yard art cheap. They have the standing iron herons cheaper than I have seen anywhere. Hope you all have a great night and I will talk to you later tomorrow after work. Yay for working days again!
Anjl I think I'm going to start being a meanie! I want blooms, too! Mine aren't "ying" yet! I was sent 2 that were already "y'd" but that part died back.
Hey Hotties!! I have the day off, I have the day off, and, I finished watering last night in the dark. I'm usually already in bed at that time, but, got all the watering done and found out two of my solar lights have died. Hmmm... But, I am planning a day for me... so haircut, maybe some light digging on the new iris bed and just being lazy. Smoking a pork roast for tonight, so not much indoor cooking. My days off are usually spent working, how crazy is that... so finally actually getting a real, deal day off sounds sooo good!

Oh I will be alright, I am a survivor. I feel worse for some of my co workers who have some tough family situations. I cannot find a new job yet they have me on layoff not fired. But I was opening a grooming shop in town anyway so soon I will be busy with that. I am a firm believer in the opening of another door when one closes.

Kim, I got 2 burgs that look like yours, I took pics last night but just got them loaded this morning at home. I can post tonight. I think mine were over fertilized, only thing I can think of because they were normal looking and I gave them MG liquid ready to feed and 3 hours later they were all crinkled. These are the ones I got from Seed Sprout around the 4th of July. There were starting to put on new growth so I fed them, I think I gave them to much. Anyone know if that is possible?
Anjl, I feel for ya, it is torture to sit and watch. I’ve been doing it for 8 weeks now. Do what the tell ya and you’ll be out there soon. I went and did a bunch of stuff that was off limits and now I’m back to no duty again. So, like your Mamma always said, do what I say and not what I do.

Louise, Sorry to hear about the job. Sounds like you’re going to do great with the new business. I’ve got 2 large dogs that haven’t been bushed or bathed since I got hurt. I’ll send them to ya, it will take and entire day to clean them up.

I've got 'little' y's forming in/on the tops of my bigger brugs sooooo, any day now I'll be on baby bloom bud alert!!! I counted last nite all my brugs, big ones, little ones, cuttings, seed-grown...and I came up with a total of 42 brugs!!!! I wanna be counting many, many brug flowers :(

Oh JanLynn, she is doing just wonderful. She is growing good, but no blooms yet. She has her own Y, but no buds yet. I check her about every 2 hours, but nothing yet...

Louise, thank you for posting that pix, that flower is from the Rubeckia family, black eye susans, once establish they can get to be 7 feet tall or more, mine are huge and at peak right now and they'll keep blooming thorugh the fall. If any hotties want some next year, just say so and I'll keep you on a list!

Okay hotties, Here is one of my poor babies, the other one looks the same so only one bad pic allowed. I think I over fertilized but am not sure. All the leaves looked fine before I did and only the new growth was badly affected. What do you all think?
looks like too much nitrogen to me. The leaves tend to cup like that. I would just keep flushing the pot and go to a rose food for awhile or something low in nitrogen.
Donna I think we need some some expert opinions here. I don't know enough to say what is going on with your brug. You could start a thread asking for a diagnosis.

Thanks Hotties, I did start flushing her out tonight. Her roots are not filling the pot yet, I was thinking about removing some of the soil she isn’t using yet and replacing.
