Me too, JoAnn. Take Sherrie's cue and start 'em inside first.

I think my zucchini leaves this year are way bigger than any EE's I ever had.

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

What are you feeding them? lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nothing, really. I only fed them once - about a week or two after planting - with an organic liquid fertilizer. I should do it again. I'll take a pic later.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I see you all have been very busy again, really good pics as usual. Neat hummer moth Victor. Keep up the good work all.
Here are a few from this am.
Goldrush Daisy, I am liking this new one more each day.

Dont we all change color in the heat.?
I have been watching a Hummer, didn't have camera wouldn't have been able to capture anyway.
Hummer is mkaing verticle movements in a zigzag pattern between trees. It's gathering long spider webs, comming up from under the web.
Glad I saw that.

and finally this is supposed to be my other 'Tiki Torch'. Seems to me it has a lot more pink in the early buds than the other one. Hope that Dutch Gardens didn't mislabel it. Will see when it get open more.

ngam!! does your phlox niki get mildew?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

LOL JoAnn, ain't that the truth. I have noticed the pair that live here are very active the last few days and talking to each other a lot.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Not so far, but these are out in the open and get a lot of air circulation. I did have to spray with 10% milk solution a few others types though.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I love phlox and would grow them but for the mildew.
I hear some varieties are immune.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice shots, Pat. The rose is very nice. The hibiscus I've been calling Pink Chiffon is actually Lavender Chiffon.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

victor thanks for the id change - i did not have pick chiffon - i have a coupel of the lavender's - money saved!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. You're tempting me to say I have some real rare, expensive stuff just so I can watch you go get it! ^_^

Thanks nanegoat! Actually, It looks to me like your EE are on a good track to catch up with just about anyones. They're very healthy and happy looking!!

ngam, that phlox Nicky is a great color. What is this 10% milk solution that you speak of?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Old fashioned remedy for powdery mildew. One part milk mixed with 9 parts water and spray effected plants. Has worked pretty well here. Occasionally have to spray a second time but usually if you do it right away once is enough.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Huh, I will have to try that. thanks!! Do you spray at the beginning of summer or a little later when it usually starts to set in? Well, for me that's when it starts anyhow. I don't have much of a problem with the mildew since there is almost always a breeze. But, there are a few plants needed to be in "protected areas" and they generally get a mild case of mildew and I dread buying some big ol' box or can of something and then I usually end up throwing it away before it's used up. But the milk.... now that I could easily do!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does it really work, Pat? I have heard / read that it does not. I never tried. Here is Hibiscus Peppermint Schnappes.

Sometimes the ones that can't decide are the most interesting!

This maple isn't at my place, and the pictures aren't very good. But, I really like it.
It's JM "Ruby Lace"

A closer look at the foliage. I like how well it keeps it's red color even though it's in quite a bit of shade.
