Good morning all! Stacey I love it!! Smiles first thing this morning...love the 'stub' joke. I'd tell the passenger.."I hate surprises, mostly they are disappointments" ^_^

It's gonna be a good day today especially in Jayeville. Lola's fine, gonna pick up Tootsie, the Mama cat and it's FRIDAY!!
Copying Audrey, my address is now Jayeville! That's where I live 100% of the time anyway!

Seedtosser is Judy, and we are sure glad she feels comfy with us. This is a group of the nicest ladies with very high tolerance...ask Jax!! (we love ya Jax!)

Will keep this page going till I return, don't want none to miss Stacey's jokes. Your MIL must be a hoot to be around with!

Talk to you all later everyone!

Y'all have a great time, and stay out of trouble!

What's on everyone's agenda today? I'm going to dig so holes for some plants and repair a 3 tier planter that fell over. Depends on how hot it gets today on how many holes get dug.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am going to try to get to my concrete block wall that is my fairy garden. I want to cover it with concrete, to make it look like a solid wall, not concrete blocks.

That's if the rain will quit. Right now it is just a real fine mist, so I can't complain too bad, We need the rain.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Is your fairy garden sitting in a flower bed?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

This is my fairy garden, but I need to fill the concrete block holes with sand, then I want to cover it all with mortar, and make it look like a solid wall.

Good morning everyone.
I have to admit, until now I have never sprayed coffee on my monitor... but this morning, ya'll caught me off guard. These are some of the funniest things I've ever read. Gotta send out some emails with them today... thank you all.

Linda Kay, your wall is going to turn out wonderful... but remember, concrete doesn't like it when the temp is above 90. I've stretched it to 95, but these 104 days are what is keeping me from finishing my boulder.

Yep, sounds like all the Jayeville residents are doing fine. Glad to hear.

Wilson Resort just got vewy vewy quiet this morning. Don left this morning. There's no saws whirring, no hammers pounding, no drills buzzing... it's almost eerie.
So, I'm just going to enjoy the quiet today.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I miss you all! Don't have much time as Mom is about to finish her lunch and it will be time for a nap. Can't move without assistance--up many times at night helping her turn over, etc.

CT scan ordered as doctor didn't like xrays. Utimate to sister: she can no longer be left alone here 3 days a week. Some major discussions going on but I think the time has come for them to move to their house near me!

Don't drink all the Bailey's I'll need some for sure!!! Keep us in your thoughts, please as this next phase isn't going to be easy or fun!!!

Miss you!!!!!!!!!

We miss you too Marion!

I'll even share my Bailey's!!

Raleigh, NC

not getting much done today. But laughing! have sent most of these to my ILs. DH came home from S Dakota all bummed out with the world, after reporting having a marvelous time every night. Sure is good to have him home anyway.

and eating chocolate cookies because y'all make me so hungry!

But DD ....... I'm getting really really tired of getting baby parakeets out of her long (mostly tangled) hair! That's twice today! The last born is not yet trying to fly. He's almost got the idea of perching, though. But he insists on hiding. she's holding him a lot, trying to encourage him, and he immediately scoots into her hair and hides. In the cage he's hiding behind a big mirror in there - the other birds adore it - he's found a way to pressin behind it. We think he's male. She calls him the runt, but his growth is gaining on his sister (we think she's a female). She was very insistant on trying to fly early. they sure are cute.

Raleigh, NC

haven't read this all, but is Marion's mom better?

(and I'm just getting the hang of the first real names! it only took me 13 threads to catch on... hehehehe)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Bon, scroll up to Post #5318084. Marion explains some of her mom's condition.

Hey Bon, do you raise parakeets?

Raleigh, NC

no - DD wants to be a biologist and has tried raising hamsters and guinea pigs with no success.

She had two parakeets - "Cloud" and "Sky" fought. I bought her a huge cage with two larger 'keets off craigslist - cheap - about a year ago. It even had two nests. "Blue" male took a shine to her white "Cloud", then hers fought worse. One day she came home to find her favorite "Sky" murdered, and blood on Cloud. Then she discovered four eggs and knew they were Cloud's because Blue "liked" her best. I explained that "mommas can be vicious when protecting." couple weeks ago two remaining eggs hatched. Babies have feathers now - not pink bobbing blobs - have blue body and black wing marks like dad and white wings and heads like mom.

Parents won't be handled, but babies have been handled since birth and are ok with it. before they could fly - now they are hard to catch! Had no idea that balancing on perchs was a hard won skill! Watching them learn their wings is fascinating to a non- farm girl.

We can't figure out why her birds will not eat veggies or fruit as recommended.

Glenview, IL

Bon,
That is pretty darn cool! What a wonderful education.

We have her since she was 6mon. LOL, found out he was she just three years ago! lol
Feathers is a yellow cocketeil. January she will be 10!

So how does your daughter like raising her parakeets? Sounds like you are enjoying the project as well.
Nothing like seeing it up close.

Give the young time they have to aquire the taste.
do you give them eggs? scrambled of course.
