**SWEET INTERRUPTION** 8

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Gooood maaaaawnin' Sistahs!!!
Still a good morning to you Deborah, as your son's not hurt at all, just his jeep given a makeover. Sure hope he gets a good job and able to get a Hummer!!
What do you know...there's a good reason for BJ to gift you that table cloth eh?
We all had to revive the art of dishwashing now and then. Don't want our parents to consider as totally spoiled right?
Had 2 dogs with seizures, and it's scary each time one gets it. Other dogs will try to attack them. Guess it's survival of the fittest. That's before I started giving them meds and they do work.
Things will go nowhere but up for you Deborah. I have faith He has the best plans for all of us!
Yep, as BJ suggests...plant something or better, kill a weed!!
I don't blame you BJ...I won't stain in a pool of sweat neither!! Wisconsin? He barely rested BJ!
Hi there Linda 1. Are you ready to return to work?
Was at K-Mart this morning and somehow a few gnomes decided to ride in my buggy :D
Kel got a new toy there. A pair of binoculars that he has already put to use in the field. Told me it works good as he can see our tin USA flag, a good 100 yards away, and on it, a mosquito scratching its' b**ls!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning Crissy! You are officially our Black Cloud Lifter ;)

A day to lift up Deborah's spirits.

--WHY ITALIANS CAN'T BE PARAMEDICS

Vinny and Sal are out in the woods hunting when suddenly, Sal grabs his chest and falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing his eyes are rolled back in his head.

Vinny whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the operator, "I think Sal is dead! What should I do?"

The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, "Just take it easy and follow my instructions. First, let's make sure he's dead."

There is a silence .. and then a shot is heard.

Vinny's voice comes back on the line, "Okay... now what ?"

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sis!!!! ROFLMAO

Good morning everyone. Deborah, I am helping everyone lift that cloud off also. Things to happen for a reason. Sometimes we just can't figure it out, but just be patient. it will all work out.

I was searching for a gnome cook, and this is what I found. So funny. Never thought there was agnome convention!!!

We got to laugh at ourselves, right Sis? How about this one...

THE HILLBILLY VASECTOMY

After their 11th child, an Alabama couple decided that was enough, as they could not afford a larger bed.

So the husband went to his veterinarian and told him that he and his cousin didn't want to have any more children.

The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that could fix the problem but that it was expensive. 'A less costly alternative,' said the doctor, 'is to go home, get a cherry bomb, (fireworks are legal in Alabama ) light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to your ear and count to '10'.'

The Alabamian said to the doctor, 'I may not be the smartest tool in the shed, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me.'

'Trust me,' said the doctor.

So the man went home, lit a cherry bomb and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count!

'1'

'2'

'3'

'4'

'5'

( you'll love this...)

At which point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs and continued counting on his other hand.

This procedure also works in Tennessee , Kentucky , Arkansas , Texas , Louisiana , Both Carolinas, Georgia , Mississippi, Missouri , Florida , West Virginia and Washington DC

LMAO! I had a few months of bad luck myself, my cat came down with some sort of intestinal problem, I got in 2 wrecks in 4 months, neither of them being my fault. The first one totalled my 7 month old Toyota Tacoma, the 2nd bent the hood and bumper of my 4 month old Nissan Rogue, my husband got in a wreck also in his Toyota Tundra, not his fault, my 8 month old refrigerator broke twice, once at 4 months then again on July 2nd, took 3 weeks to get a repair man out to my house, either I live too far away or they won't work on warranty problems for Whirlpool. I was whimpering about all of it here on DG and someone showed up and lifted the big dark cloud. Since then I get my car fixed, Whirlpool is getting me a new refrigerator delivered in about a week, cat is on steroids, hubby got his truck fixed, I'm hoping I have the ability to do the same thing for ya'll!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ya'll are way funny! Keep em coming! I took part of a real life situation and an old joke together and came up with this:

My husband woke up the other evening to get ready for work (he works graveyard) and read the the refrigerator measurements written on our dry erase white board that's stuck to the refrigerator. He said, "Oh Honey, are those the measurements from your gym?" I got so upset and depressed I made myself a very, very stiff Pina Colada and in my drunken stupor I decided to look up mixed cocktail drinks on the internet. In doing so I ran into this article about the positives and negatives about extreme alcohol drinking. After reading it I decided as of midnight tonight I will no longer be reading.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Are those measurements in metric???
Lololol!!!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Each and everyone of yall, thanks! The jokes made me smile. I pulled out a ton of weeds and got 3 porterweeds planted. I've had a good day today.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

We eat alot of chili in the winter time, and homemade veggie/oxtail soup too. I'm going to plant tomatoes next year. Y'all remind me.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

deb, i love oxtail soup! let me know when you make it again

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Yummy isn't it. Any with cracklin' cornbread, hummmm make ya slap grandma on the back.
Has anyone every noticed that when you take the meat off the oxtail bone, that the bone looks identical to a cow's face? Its the weirdest thing I've every seen.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

is it really from an oxtail?? By the poop hole??

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

yes it does deb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh boy, home made chile, with a skillet full of crispy cornbread!!!
Sounds really good. pass the spoon please. LOL
Hope everyone made it through the day with no damge from the storm. So far all we have is a nice slow soaker rain. No air conditioner on today, just the doors and windows open. Very nice for the plants.
Later
Linda Kay

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

not Deb:( I can't believe you got me confused:(

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Kathy...what else is there besides juice???

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Stacy, it's the tenderest cut of beef for making homemade soup. The meat falls off the bone. It is the tail part that swats flies. But I can assure you, only the name sounds gross. The butcher cuts it into small chunks. It's wonderful! Now, Larry doesn't have a clue to the name of meat in my vegetable soup. If he did, he would touch it. He's been eating it for 30 years. edit: make that 33 years.

I'm awake at the smell of oxtail soup!! Yum-yum. Chilli and extra garlic...double yum-yum! Crispy cornbread and good ice cold fresh milk...triple yum-yum!
Sheesh, forgive me y'all...I'm truly a glutton! Ooops, stand corrected, a food junkie!

Sis, are you opening up a country general store? Whatever vitamins you are taking, I want the same brand!

Marion, we miss you girl. Hopefully, this time, you'll get a comfy bed to sleep in.
Still keeping your mum in our prayers.

Just weathered a few gnomes with acrylic paint in the garden today...didn't have to water anything..hurray!! Cooked dinner for the 1st time in 2 weeks. Made some catfish curry. Kel thought he returned to the wrong house when he walked in!

Deborah, that's what this 'interruption' thread is for. When things are going South, come on down, unload and one of us is bound to make sure you get a smile on your face! Look, we're the first to have a resident Black Cloud Lifter! How cool is that?

Dessert time! Sugar free ice-cream anyone!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Only with some chocolate or Bailey's for a topping!!!
Linda Kay

Glenview, IL

OMG...you gals and Bailey!!! crackin me up.

Hey...so you make the cornbread from scratch??? I have loved it from the first tast I have ever had.

Not a cook here but if it isn't hard to make, LOL will give recipe to my DH to make, heheheh.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just use the small boxes of jiffy mix. 2 boxes make my skillet full, and so good. The trick is to add oil in your skillet, get it nice and hot, place a circle of wax paper in the bottom, then add the mix. It will sizzle when you place the mix in the hot oil, but it is supposed to. Then bake as directed, flip over onto a plate, remove the wax paper, and you have perfect cornbread. Add butter to taste!!!
Mmmmmmm
So good.

Joey in Conroe, TX(Zone 8b)

I just followed the smell of the food cooking. MMM oxtail soup and chili!! Shoulda known it was ya'll. This is always the best smelling room in DG!!
Debra I'm sorry to hear about your string of luck. How is your dog? Have you buy chance fertilized or mopped the floors recently? Put mothballs anywhere? Dogs (and even more so cats) can get poisoned by licking their paws after walking through something. Cats and mothballs are the absolute worse...they love to bat them around and then clean their paws....wish they would make square mothballs, not near as much fun to play with LOL.
Anyway I hope he's better!!

Jaye, I told my DH the paramedic joke (he's a paramedic) cracked him up...that one's going to make the rounds at the station I'm sure!!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I like to put creamed corn and finely diced (just a few) jalapenos in mine-YUK:)

Deb-I guess that is another reason I am thankful I don't eat soup....while I am sure it is delicious, not for me once the word tail came into play...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I'd rather make my cornbread from scratch. Jiffy Mix is to sweet! I use sr meal and flour, in equal amts. add buttermilk and an egg, bacon grease from the hot skillet, and bake at 450* for about 20/25 min. Nice and crusty!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Stacey, have you ever had corn ice-cream? Yum-yum!!
Kel says he'll take filet mignon over filet of hoof or in Stacey's case, filet of tail!! Lol!!
Guess many cultures learn to make use of other parts of the carcass in the name of survival.
Linda Kay, next time I make corn bread, I'll use that tip. My favorite brand is Martha White.
Forgot that we haven't officially pass the bottle of Bailey's to Judy and Crissy!
Here you go ladies!
Has anyone seen Audrey lately?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

There you are Audrey..hope you don't mind sharing the Bailey's with the ladies!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

'Course not!! Long as there's some left for me!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Y'all have me soooo cornbread hungry. Mostly the way Linda Kay and Audrey sounded out the aroma with those hot sizzling skillets.

Glenview, IL

LOL, Oh my!

Look there is a cornbrad recipe, sounds simple enough even for me!!
Thank you!....

UM now for the Bailey's is it acooking sauce?
...oh golly. try not ta laugh to hard ok? oh I know it goes in coiffee right?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Are you kidding? Bailey's is a delicious liquer! Mixed or straight!
