Fairy's helping me out! (giggle).
Even though the IRS is supposed to be giving me money back, it's not back out of bank yet. And now job is byebye, no $ coming in for plants. It's iris season, darn it!
She's buying a half dozen iris from me - what she don't know is, I'll go spend it on ONE. LOL! Got my heart set on terracotta bay this year.
DH and DD were supposed to arrive at 7pm at RDU airport. Been out and back - the plane rerouted to Norfolk - 2 hours thunder and streak lightening :~O looks like that weather's rolling in early, Jaye.

**SWEET INTERRUPTION** 8
Marion-I have had that happen B4-it is very painful:( The only comfy spot I could find was the toilet seat:) I hope we aren't w/o you for long and that your mom's bum feels better:)
Audrey-you talkin to me??LOL
Deborah-I have heuchera, silver mound and hosta under it...
Bonnie-glad I can help you get a new pretty too:)
Tinky, she actually hit on her back of all things. My sister has a sunken living room and it has always been a concern of mine, Mom was going up the step lost her balance and went back hitting her back.
Woa....so sorry to read of your Mum's fall, Marion. No internal injuries, that's good news. Hope she won't resist your help. Your sister definitely will be needing an extra pair of hands.
Kel's dad has limited mobility, but MIL 'fired' all help..so Kel is stuck doing the necessary stuffs.
Just let us know every now and then how you are faring. In the meantime, we'll pray for her recovery.
Take a pic Audrey. I'd love to find me some driftwood and do paint some signs.
Ok Texan friends, hope you all escape Dolly.
Still not up to par...and early to bed again I go.
Thanks so much Jaye, please take care of yourself. I worry about you too.
Jojo, Linda 1, Linda Kay, BJ: I don't know extactly where in Texas each lives but know I am thinking about you as Dolly decided to visit!! Take care and be safe!!!!!
Marion... I'm so sorry to hear about your mom... You will certainly be missed, but we'll all know you're "Florence Nightingale" hat will be on, and you'll be back with us. Now, you take care not to trip on that step too... ok?
Hi all... sorry I've been missing for a day or two... been a bit tied up here doing other things. We'll be staining the deck tomorrow morning while it's cool... cause this old lady ain't getting out in the 100+'s any more.
Dolly shouldn't reach us way up here... if anything, we'll get some rain out of it later on.
JoJo is probably closer to the danger, but even Conroe is a little out of the "destructive" zone.
Thanks BJ. I just hope this fall isn't something that will take her will to live away. Up til this she has been very fiesty but I knew things weren't good when she ask me to come. Not usually her style. Of course, I was planning to go way before she asked. Could be my sister can't cook might have something to do with it. LOL
Good luck with the staining of the deck. I know you will be so glad to have that finished.
Also thanks for letting me know about you Texas gals. It has really worried me since I saw the report it was a hurricane and headed Texas way. Didn't know for sure where everyone was located in connection to the path. Just be safe and take care.
That goes for all of you girls and your families.!!!!!!
Will try to check in but not sure I will be able to as sister's computer leaves much to be desired.
Well, Marion... we'll surely miss you... take care... of yourself too. At your moms age, anything can happen with an injury like that... even if nothing internal happened... that WILL can be broken and you don't know it... so, keep her spirits up... ok?
Dang ya'll I can't keep up LOL
LOL it's my first year gardening, not only in this house but for always! I didn't know what a brug was until I got on here LOL I only have 7 types of plants:
Coreopsis, zennia's, a holly that needs to go, petunias, sunflowers, 1 roma tomato plant, 2 concord grape vines and 2 musketdine vines. The grape and musketdines were already here when we moved in.
Wow Marion, I'm glad she's not hurt too bad, that's dangerous. Take care taking care of her.
People in Texas, stay safe with Dolly!
It rained here too, cooled it way down. The news reporters weren't saying anything about a cold front coming through, but it sure feels like one.
Marion, Please drive safely, and keep us posted when you can.
God Bless
Linda Kay
Yes, Fairy, I was talking to you!
Good morning! Katie and Kobe needed to go out, so why not a cup of coffee and Dave's this early morning. Waving to the first early bird and many others who are reading but not posting this morning.
Fairy, are you up yet? Got your message of your dogwood plantings. Thank you, your grouping is pretty for your front yard. I just planted two dogwoods (twigs) in my shade garden. I may go with a punch of summer color like impatiens en masse.
I'm hitting every retail store today looking again for a long enough box for to mail my buddies surprise. If I have to alter two boxes again, I'll camoflauge my handiwork much better this time to pass the eagle-eyed postal clerk.
morning deb. how goes it
Ready for another day of digging and planting. How 'bout you?
gonna can tomatoes, and smoke a boston butt. hubby is taking the day off and coming home to fix te chicken yard. casper my new roo keeps getting out of it. i put him in with the turkeys until he can find where casper is getting out
Butt sounds good. I wouldn't even know how to start canning tomatoes. Your coop got a top on it?
yes, the chickens don't get ou only him. should have named him hudini.
tomatoes are very easy to can. the easiest of all i think
Good morning my sistahs!
Sis, did you get the rest of the goodies from Ms. Alice?
Seems like Casper lives up to its name, the ghostly houdini with his disappearing act. You are truly one Wonderwoman Sis. I get tired reading Betty's postings, now I have to take a breather when I read yours! Makes me look abnormal! :D
Hiya Deb. Impatiens en masse would certainly give it color. Maybe you could plant some hellebores in the back to give it color in dead winter?
Marion, shall keep you in my thoughts my dear.
Coffee break's over, off to helping Kel. Catch you beauties later!

I saw the cutest thing the other day & if the people weren't home I would
ve gotten it for jaye!!LOL It was a garden bench-slat style, painted w/ the flag-had darker colors like cream, burgundy & royal blue to give it a kinda aged look:)
My next planning project is a dry creek from my pond through a low spot to a pine tree. Need a garden foot bridge to go over it. Wonder if I could build one? Wonder if BJ would let me borrow Don. She turned me down one time already. LOL
Some people are just selfish that way.... ;o)
Kathy/Betty: Energizer Bunnies
Stay safe Texas folks...Praying for you whether you're close or not!
charge me up! my going is almost gone
I'm afraid if I stop I won't get going again..lol
I'm doubting that one!!!
I DID stop... and now I CAN'T start again.
Good morning all.
Looks like the deck won't get stained today. Don's been up since 5am building stair railing, but I just got up. I had to take another pain pill last night... that's twice in a week... I just hate it when that happens.
Deb, if I let you borrow Don, I'm afraid you won't send him back !!! You'll probably pass him around to everyone else. Then he'll have to escape the slave labor van somehow and find his way home... if there's anything left of him.
Kathy, you put us all to shame.
just getting ready for your visit bj.
Bj, hope your feeling better soon. Don't like to see you down like this. Take care everyone.
Linda Kay
Thank you Linda Kay... I don't like it either.
I was almost fine for a long time... didn't happen very often, and when it did, 1/2 a pill worked just fine. But these last two attacks have been pretty sever, needing a whole pill... and that makes me listless the next day... I hate that feeling, but I hate the pain too...
Good Kathy... we'll eat it all up when we come... I want jelly and preserves with my biscuits in the morning, ya know.
bj, of coarse and chow-chow with my eggs
Hmmm... I'd rather have the chow-chow with dinner.
I take my eggs strait up.
Oh my....I'm sooooooo hungry.....
Guess we'll just have to wait till Labor Day, Joyce.
In the mean time, it's store bought food.
Red eye gravy with those eggs? Yummy!! Start saving up the eggs, we want some home grown eggs!!
Oh yeah, man...I want to go out and get it from the girls myself!
i get 6 eggs a day, so no shortage on eggs. yes you can go get your own eggs
