we sure could use the rain
**SWEET INTERRUPTION** 8
I think I'll go and wind up the water hose. Been consistantly out laying on the ground for months. Wishing you get some rain, Kathy.
thanks deb. every thing is so dry
Jaye's going to have to round us all up. #7 and #6 threads are popping up on my watch.
mine to. hey everyone, here we are
LOL I love your jokes!! They cracked me up! Nice bead work, I bet you can find something at a craft store on how to make them. Way cute!
Good morning--beautiful sistahs? Lol.. Deb, think I'm lost then, like Bon!!
Bonita, we need to put a thread "GPS" for her. She's also lucky that her son can cook, and Eye-talian too!
Well Sis, I hope you get some rain soon. Deborah, if quitting smoking means getting a new pool...what better incentive is that?
Ironically, I was rounding up some furry babies today. They somehow got out of Kel's shop and I managed to get hold of 4 of them. Only Mama Tootsie and baby Jazzy left outside, and they're not easily fooled by a can of tuna! Mama has a vet appt. on the 24th to get her spayed. All the kitties too are to have their booster final shots on the same day. Mama's the one that was left on the side of the road pregnant.
Nope, didn't go to work today. It's a bad sign when I spent only 30 minutes outside and I'm sweating (Yes BJ) profusely! So, what's a diabetic gonna drink if she can't take Gatorade to replace lost minerals? Urrrrgggghhh...that means staying indoors!!
Say Marion, how about we start a 'tummy-candy' search. First on my list will be Mario Bertelli. Then Harold, the one that won the first Top Chef.
Can't y'all tell I'm hungry?
Crissy, how could you not have a brug??? You must have ONE, got to keep us company!!
Good morning everyone.
purpbutfly has agreed to make the beaded critters, if anyone is interested. I just sent her a book, so once she gets it and figures it out, she will be taking orders.
Linda Kay
Oh great Linda Kay! On what thread can we be looking for her? I'm sure Marion would want a lady bug.
I will tell her to come here and take orders, or I may make a new thread. I will keep you all posted.
Linda Kay
Morning everyone. Going for 96 today, hot and muggy!!! I hate it. Gotta take my car into be services and a few other errands to do. Don't over work anyone. Jaye, take care! Bummer no gatoraide--what's a girl to do?
We got a very nice rain this morning! We needed it! 99* yesterday, only 80* yet, today. I think I hear my brugs growing!
LOL that's funny Audrey. I think I hear my grass growing too. ROFLMBO
got 12 jars of chow-chow put up, and 14 jars of blueberry jam. now to do the dill pickles
Kathy, be sure to save some time to rest up before Labor Day Weekend!! You're gonna need it!!
oh goodness gracious - how's an old girl to keep up with all this chattin' goin' on. I've got to pick meself up off the floor and stop laughing at Heaven's comments on men - which I've sent to everyone I can find to send it to. And now this one on divorce. (been there done that sister - I'm NEVER getting off the floor at that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've NOT finished reading the last thread y'all!!!!!!
(uncle)
oh yum = I want to go to jordankiityjo's house and help! haven't canned or made jam in years!
Jaye - the paper says we're due three days of mid 80's and rain after today, what about you? and while you're rounding up furries, I'm putting baby 'keets back in their nest. not flying yet, but they keep jumping or backing out and plopping. mamas won't care for them down there.
There must be a universal mom signal all young know. when I hear these make a totally different cry, everything in me says "gotta check them, they're hungry and mama's not feeding 'em" or "will you PLEASE feed that kid? it's driving me crazy!"
come on bon, i'm waiting
Kathy you puttin' me to shame with all your canning, your'e the true Miss Suzy Homemaker, LOL. Do you use parafin wax to seal your jars?
no deb, i put them in the canner. i bought wax and forgot i had it
You're serious Bon, I truly hope so. This heat's just bring everyone down, except for those on the beach. Need those 80* days.
So, Audrey, you have your wheels back?
Yep, it's definitely a mama magnet, get one critter crying and we go running.
Mama Tootsie came right back to the shop, but we brought her back out cause Jazzy's all by herself and don't want her scared. Darn, so close to her final shot and we can't catch her! There are skunks around here and y'all know they are rabies carriers.
Yeah Deb, Sis puts me to shame too.
I can only attempt refrigerated preserves. Sis..you're a Wonder.
Jaye, yep! My neighbor put a washer on the bbottom of the battery post, and now it gets a good connection! Even the air works!
Country boy ingenuity!!
Pass him the Bailey's Audrey!
I think he's OFF the sauce!! But I'll take it!~!
You all have had an eventful day:)
LK-mark me down for a peacock and maybe a snail:)
I just got a 5 gal bucket full of iris from a friend! Want some? I don't have room to plant even half! I gave my neighbor some. Don't know what coplor they are.
You've been busy Sis, while I've been sleeping!
That much energy to burn! Why don't you start selling them?
Audrey, you can stuff a few in a padded envie to me ^_^ Think you can send them dry, like they do with the daylilies.
Plenty of room here, and I intend to purchase a few from Bon as well. Love irises.
I am getting some from Bonnie too:) Have to figure out which ones-I have already went through my plant budget this year:) So I wouldn't be sad if some mystery iris ended up @ my house Audrey:)
My mouth is watering after seeing Kathy's canning for the day. Oh my goodness!! All I got accomplished was my car serviced. Yikes!!
That's sweet of you to share your bucket of Irises, Audrey. I don't need any just wanted to tell you how thoughtful that is of you to share you rhizones. Jayes suggestion on just a padded envelop is a perfect way to send iris rhizones. I've have some come to me like that and they do fine. In fact, I've had them sit out of the ground for a couple of weeks, planted them later and they bloomed just fine the next spring.
Getting your car serviced is an accomplishment Marion. Any trip to town really does takes the wind out of my sails and I can't come home and get diddley done.
Stacey, I keep thinking about your dogwood tree at the corner of your house. I need some color around mine, what kinds of plants did you plant around the base?
Kathy do you jar and sell your energy? I need about a case of it. See I would have done the blueberry jam, then I'd be done for the day. You got to be one organized cooking mama in your kitchen to get all that done in one day.
Well, Deborah I had to get the car serviced. My Mom (89) fell backwards last night landing on a concrete floor. She was taken to the hospital but they found no broken bones or internal injuries. A badly scrapped up back--not sure what she hit--sister to "rattled" to tell me. Long story, short version: I will be leaving early tomorrow morning to go to south Florida to stay for awhile to help take care of Mom. She is in a great deal of pain and so far the meds aren't touching the pain. This concerns me as she usually gets really good mileage (like me) from pain meds. We are going to have to force her to get up and move, doctors orders, to keep from getting so stiff that it really does cause problems. That is going to be the hard part.
My sister normally works during the day and where they live is way out and no neighbors close. I want to see about getting some system in place should she ever need it. Thank goodness my sister was home when it happened or no telling how long she would have been in the floor. Has to have assistance moving.
So don't talk to bad about me--remember I am like a bad penny--when you least expect it I am going to reappear. OH, sister's computer is very unreliable for connections.
Will she if I can get my daughter to post for me evey now and then.
We will miss you Marion. Take care of your mom and get her moving about. You're right, that's the best thing IF you can convience her to get to moving. Bless her heart. love ya, Deborah
I just finished painting my little welcome sign I bought for $1.00, and 2 fairy houses, (birdhouses) I bought for $1.00 each. Pretty!
I'll definately see you get some iris! I just have to wait till NEXT Fri. to send them!
Thanks Deborah. She is as fiesty as her mother so she will try to tell us what to do I am sure but we will get her up and some moving or the consequences could be bad. Don't even want to think about that. Had thought about taking my laptop but DD ask if I was going to use it for a paperweight so.......
