Kassia it's "Baby Blue's"

WNYwillieB, Ge1836 and Robindog, the picture of the dragonfly that my DH took is a Red Saddlebags (Tramea onusta) from an Id by suunto in the bug Id forum. I pictured it in the collage on this post. It was huge and very still.

Hemhostaholic, your addiction is showing! Nice collage. I use the free program from Google to do collages called Picasa2. http://picasa.google.com/

I did a quick wander between still working on the new deer/rabbit fence. Here are some random blooms and the dragonfly.

Pixie, stole my heart with a few of yours. Pocket change (bet it wasn't!) and Peppermint pinwheel. And the lovely one from Thom with the very long name. Sounds like a sermon. Enjoying them all sooooooooo much. Thanks. Still love me Ditch lilies too.

Kassia, nice to see more of your roses. I am always inspired to try by your beauties, but I am less than good at it. But I do love them. Thanks for posting them and tempting me to be a better rose mom. Patti

Some day lilies and me deadheading out in my old bowling shirt. I hate the picture but it show how much I love the hot colors. Patti

My mother calls these "Spider Flowers" ...I have no idea, but they self seed and come up everywhere in the early summer, and will take over...get seed pods in late summer early fall, I could probably get enough seeds from just one plant to populate the whole state with these flowers....oh, and they change color too, when they first open they are a deep beautiful pink color. The foliage kind has a "pot plant" look to it...

Your spider flowers are 'Cleome'

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Patti the collages are lovely!!!
'Pocket Change' is really an older one...1985 I think so it shouldn't be expensive. I 've had it a long time...."Peppermint Pinwheel" I just got last year, I may have paid 15-20 for 3 fans which is really a good deal!
I too like hot colors..oh who am I fooling? I like em ALL!

Cleome. Pixie is right. I love them too, but somehow I have none in the garden anymore. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/6/Spider Flower, Spider Legs, Grandfather's Whiskers Cleome hassleriana. Nice shot. Patti

Thanks Celeste!!!!! I love it... really gorgeous... I get home and run to see if still open... this one is a 2 day daylilly... it's lasting... this morning it still beautiful....

Patti, my pleasure... sometimes I feel if I post too many roses someone might tell me to post on the rose forum only!!!! so I try not to... invade with roses!!!!

well, I do have other flowers that I love - black eye susans... daysies... purple cone flowers.... oh and of course I am addicted to irises and I feel the daylilly addiction coming... oh well...

Not all the garden is "hot". Here is a cooler bed that we recently changed on the east side of the house. It had 3 more big hydrangeas that always seemed to look sad. So we moved them this spring. Left the one as it is in front of the faucet and gets lots of water drips. Rose is an old one, 'Golden showers' that was not happy due to being in too much shade from the hydrangea. So it is starting to grow again. Also there is another one, 'Garden Sun' that I planted, but my darling dogs dug it out, so it is really struggling. But I am hopeful. Out to work on the fence and maybe a trip to the nursery if I get the work finished today. Need a couple of big shrubs/small trees to finish the project. Patti

This will probably be the last of my clem bloom for this season. It contracted a case of wilt, and I had to cut off about 2/3 of the plant. This is the last bloom on the last branch left after pruning and cutting. At least it gave me a gorgeous bloom this morning. It looks so nice with the morning dewdrops still on the petals.

Thanks, Bill. Man, you're right about the thread! So many great blooms. Seems DL's need a thread of their own! Great bouquet, Thom. I like your collage method. Too many lilies and DL's I like to list. Kass - I have Distant Drums for about 6 or 7 yrs now and it's one of my favorites.

It surely doesn't take long to fill up one of these threads! I have to keep on my toes to make sure I don't miss any of anyone's beautiful blossoms!

I love the play of object and shadow when I photograph.
Here's a bluebell in the early morning light of day.

I bought this DL last year and can't remember the name. This is the first time I'm seeing the blooms and they are the most gorgeous deep shade of pink...almost magenta, with an orange center. Love this one...will have to move it to the front of the row after the blooms go away.

Oh my goodness gracious!! That bloom is absolutely gorgeous!!! I hope that someone can ID it, because I want one ... or two ... or three ... or more!

Here's our blue tall phlox this morning.

I hope so too, Candyce! It's the perfect pink DL to me....it's fairly tall, too. It does seem to close up it's petals for the day earlier in the evening than the rest, though.

This is Savannah Bay Begonia (I think)

Oh, Kassia! Does your garden smell as good as it looks??? All i can say is: WOW!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Noreaster, is your DL "Cherry Cheeks" ?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's a gorgeous one, whatever it is!

This photo isn't so good, but we have the first blossoms on the white asiatic lily today.

And 'Magic Dawn' bloomed today as well!

Would you believe that these snapdragons are from last year's plants? I thought they weren't supposed to re-seed themselves and bloom again. Perhaps I was incorrect.

beautiful Candyce
I'm waiting for the OT's to open looks like any day maybe tomorrow AM
Is your Asiatic fragrant?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I believe the dwarfs will reseed and come up from the same plant like a peren. There are seedlings of dwarfs all over the garden from the former owners.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

That's good to know, Jo Ann ... about the snapdragons, I mean. We pulled up so many of them last fall believing that they wouldn't come back. Now we have them again, which is great, because we love them!

I'll haqve to see if the white asiatic is fragrant. I really wasn't close enough to sniff this morning - I had to take photos on the fly.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Good luck w/ the snaps.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like the shadow shot, Candyce.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, BBrookrd, for the 411 on the Red Saddlebags! There was a tiny blue DF on the checkout counter at the nursery today, I was wishin I had the camera.

Here is a shot of my AO bloomin away.

Beautiful Willie!

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Pixie, I looked up Cherry Cheeks, and it looks similar, but I don't think it's it....this one has a pretty orangey center, and I think it's on the taller side. (hard to tell because my DLs all lean quite a bit to get nearer the sun. It's taller than South Seas, anyway.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Please let me know if you ID it, Nor. I would probably get it. Does the photo capture the color accurately?

Thomaston, CT

What happened to my computer? Not one of the photos made it on--is it me---or Dave's Garden? Here is OT lily Satisfaction--I hope it comes up!

Hemhostaholic . . .your "old fashioned" way of making a collage is great. A striking photo. Did a double take trying to figure out what high end photo editing progam you used and you didn't use any!..
