Ok Hotties, I have another question for ya. For my new devils trumpet that has a seed pod on it. How do I properly collect the seeds for more plants in the future?

I cut the seed pods when they start to split and then remove the seeds and dry them. Others slip a piece of nylon stocking over it and tie it off and let the plant do it's thing.
Put something over it to catch the seeds....cut the toe off a old stocking maybe : ) They make a lot of seeds!! and will fly everywhere if you don't catch them.

Ok I took a couple of pictures. I potted up and started moving a couple of my brugs to a less sunny location. Will do more along during the week and this weekend. (It's HOT out there!!!) They are small but starting to put out leaves. Downloading now
Peggie, I hope DH gets better soon, hate to hear those stories. He is my thoughts and positive thinking from all of us sisters too!
BTW, I am so excited tonight, I am meeting a friend from DG tomorrow, the meeting is 1 1/2 from here, I can't hardly believe it and need it to tell my hottie sisters, this is amazing for me, have never done this!

Hey Kim and Lavender.. do the dats reseed themselves up there in ya'lls neck of the woods? I started some from seeds... and like a dummy gave them all away.. but I did get 2 from the RU.. wondering if they will get big enough to set seeds this fall since I just planted them?

That's my 1st!!! I just happened to notice it when I was out watering this evening. That one was slated for a bigger pot this weekend. now I'm not sure whether to try to repot it or elave it alone! It's only in a 1 gallon pot!

Beck, the white ones reseed all over the place here and regrow from the roots in most years. Not this past winter though, too much snow ice and wet. The seeds still sprouted about a hundred or so babies. My purple did NOT reseed at all and all the seeds I collected I gave away also lol. I was sure they would reseed. So just white and lilac lafleur this year. No double purples.
The bud is on Orange Sunshine. Anyone ever had blooms on that one?

cat, Maybe just leave it alone and keep on givin it good care for now. But one of the experts will advise I am sure. If it were mine I would leave it and be afraid to even breathe on it until it bloomed! lol
I need to get it out of the mess of plants it's in the middle of or I won't even be able to SEE it! LOL.

No the one with the bud is in the middle of a bunch of others on top of a makeshift table. Maybe 18 inches tall??? I'll see if I can gently get it out tomorrow evening and take a pic of the whole plant. I had to spray this evening. Grasshoppers or something are having a feast!

Cat, they are really pretty plants even without blooms. Very healthy looking.
AuntB, probably need to protect BP from the sun for a little while. They had been in complete shade for a week and it will take a little bit to get roots generated again.
If any of the BP don't make it let me know cause I still have a couple of starts stuck back in pots just in case.
Someone I didn't get yours mailed Monday cause it was leaking all over me. Sometimes I get a little carried away with the water. Then I was going to mail today but the payroll system blew up and I was there until 7:30pm to get it back up and running.. So the plant is at the office and I will email who evers it is I still have.
I was suppose to get 2 hostas in the mail to someone but that is not happening tonight.
Merpeg, he had to be awful pain...dang. My poor Mom only had one broken spot and her had looked awful. I can't stand things like that. I am so sympathic that I get dizzy and ill just seeing someone else in pain and forget the site of blood. It is easy to take my blood cause I just pass out and they can take all they want then....LOL. My SS was in the hospital and went flying into the room and saw the blood thing hanging and I got pale.....my SS just about fell out of bed laughing at me as I left immediately! Makes me yucky just thinking about it.

I just found a slug on one of my brugs! He'd already eaten one of the leaves and started on another. I broke off the leaf and drowned him in the commode! Then I found 4 more on the other side of the sidewalk and I salted them before they got my bigger brugs! No tellin' how many more there are out there! You can't find them in daylight. I look for their silver trail at night! How do y'all keep them away?
use the non toxic escar go. it works great and wont hurt pets.

Lavender, who makes that escar go? (cute name, too).. I do want to apologize to Peg and anyone, I was on a roll yesterday (war path is more like it), I reread my post and I wasn't very nice to your DH. I don't want him hurting and Peg, you hang in there, he'll be all better, soon! I hope they get him into surgery asap, then he won't have to think about it anymore and it will be over. I'm sorry I didn't mean any ill will. I enjoyed Bonnie time last night. The kids and their friends went to a pre-showing of the new Batman movie at the imax.. so, I potted up 3 more young brugs and my BP, sat out and enjoyed the serenity of my plant area. Lot's of cool stuff starting to happen back there. Peg, I think you asked... my little Antique Lace was almost as tall as it is now, a tall cutting from the bloom tip down. I had it in a bucket of water for about 4 or 5 days, the little white nubbies had formed and I stuck it in the gallon pot. It's been potted up for a month, maybe but it quickly started pushing out leaves and then I spied the buds..so I got a bloom tip cutting, not just a chunk from the middle of the stem.. Two brugs in bud and the plumie bud is turning pinker each day! Ahhhh! This is the part I've been working for! Enjoy your day everyone!
