Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

humidity and temp are the same 64*
so much condensation on the windows, can't see if the "Copper King" is blooming.
Glasses fog too and It's not supposed to improve.
Very hot and humid day, so I will be spreading mulch early.

It looks nice out there right now. Later is supposed to be more icky.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

The RH here is already 90%, going to be warm and sticky. Going to water this morning and do some good beach sitting this afternoon.

ohhhh love the beach and deep sea fishing.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

A Great house guest arrived last night with live lobsters from Maine. DH stuffed and grilled them, too good. It got chilly last night in the dining room while eating them. That was a treat too. Gorgeous morning. Sunny with light clouds and 65 degrees now, It was in the got down to the mid 50's last night. Great sleeping. Patti

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I love the beach, but no swimming for me yet, surf is to rough here. I just get to sit in a chair, better than nothing as now I'll be able to walk through the sand and at least stick my feet in. Good way to get the ground in garden dirt out.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Yum, lobster

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I love the beach too. I might go tomorrow. Just me and my book. I go real early - before anyone else including the toll collectors and leave around noon. The weather outlook is just fine for me. I don't mind the 80°s.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I'll wave to ya if I get down to Watch Hill. I go to a small town beach here, they charge a fortune to outsiders so it doesn't get crowded. Super cheep for us townies with a season pass.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Temp 73°, Rh 61%. ☺

Best time to go in the summer time is the am, it's very nice, by 12 I'm outta there too. In the Fall, Winter & Spring I go anytime, it's always nice! Weeeee!! ☺

Nice beach shot, love the castle.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- Thanks, it was made by a group of children, I took the pic after they left. ☺

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Mid-80's here, but it feels SO much hotter. Even to dogs don't want to go outside with me. I was going to water, but decided to just do the droopy brugs and soaker hose for now. I'll carch the others later. It's a tough call - bake in the heat or get devoured by skeeters later!

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Poached quail egg on styrofoam?

You folks are weather wimps. Don't get mad at me please, but we have a great shaded house and property and out there on the property it is 90 or close every day. Atlanta is bumping high nineties. We still mow, bushhog, till and start to think and plant a Fall garden. That's right. Believe it or not we need to decide what stays and what goes to seed Fall veggies these next weeks.

It is so hot that when we have the chance to take time off from work and work here...well we need to rest in the afternoon 'til it cools down a bit. Siesta if you will, but it's necessary in this oppressing heat.

Laurel

I lived in FL and the heat never bothered me. Come "August" up here the HUMIDITY wont bother me, but then we will start to go back the other way and have to get used to it all over again. Its called shedding and then growing your coat back like a dog.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I lived in Florida for years - never did grow to like the weather. Moved back up north in '90 and have never regretted.

Nice evening - 80-ish with light breeze.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Anita - LOL on the Donnybrook info! I spell mine with an -ie because I chose my name from my son's dog, Donnie, who was visiting when I signed up. He's a little cutie, but all boy dog!! He takes his paw and boxes playfully at Molly, our older dog; hence, Donniebrook.

I went to visit Candyce's lovely home and gardens yesterday and the weather was PERFECTO for the garden tour and visit! What a treat!!

Laurel - you are quite the trooper out there tilling in that southern heat! Getting ready for the fall crops, huh? Jeez, I'd better get my head into what I'll be planting down there come late fall! When I'm up here, it's "out of sight, out of mind!" LOL

Will someone say some magic words to keep the humidity away tomorrow???? Please??? I need to combat the gallant soldiers and I'd like to order a cool morning with low humidity if I may, please!

Victor - is your stray kitty still hanging out with you?

Victor who?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Sequee and Sherrie - I agree with you about Fla weather in the summer. It's wonderful to be down there in the winter when I can still get outside and garden every day, but you can have it in the summer. I left there when I was 18 because of the heat and humidity; it never occurred to me that I might live there again! LOL

Sorry, Florida 24/7 winter, spring, summer and fall. Beach, boats, fishing not to say you can jump in a pool. Green all year long and something to do anytime of the day or night.

I would sell this house and split - yesterday.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Temp 75°, Rh 57%. ☺

Of course! Mozzerella!

I lived in Fla for 5 yrs, too hot, now they have water shortages, & global warming. Glad to get out of there, I missed the cold & the snow and the change of seasons. Southerners are wimps when it gets to 45°

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Well If I want to garden twelve months of the year I have the option of growing cabbages, greens, beets, Brussels sprouts, peas, etc. down here in Georgia. Let's be honest (as we are all gardeners here) a break in Winter is really nice. Better than nice...I start to crave it when battling worms in November. As for me, well a visit to Dad and picking avocados, star fruit, lychee, guava and tons of mangoes in the yard will just have to suffice.

Sherrie, living nine months of the year in air conditioning is not as wonderful as you might imagine.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Well I am not a wimp at 45 degrees WC. We did have, just a few years ago, horses to feed and ride. We often left into the National Forrest at five a.m for twelve hour endurance trails with friends. The temps were in the teens.

Laurel

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Good for you! As for the fruit I can pick up anything at my local supermarket. You cant sell me on the wonders of the south, I've been there done that. - Ya'll can keep it! lol!

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

Yesterday, my son participated in the procession for a local man who was killed in "the war". He said it was very emotional. Kind of makes our complaints seem less important.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Lynn, sorry for being obtuse, but what war? Iraq?

Many generations of kids from the eighties and nineties grew up not knowing parents or peers who were a part of a war theater. It brings great breadth to the lives of our children when they understand that war and famine are parts of the human condition that could be prevented. Perhaps they can fix things.

Laurel

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

Yes Laurel, this was Iraq. Very, very emotional from what he said. It makes me so happy that my son never went into the Marines - only because of his disabilities, not due to the mission of the Marines. I'm so appreciative of everything our services are willing to do for us.

In today's world, neither our sons nor daughters are exempt from what may happen, and I also hope they can fix things. No parent should have to bury a child, especially one so young and with children of their own.
