Water Cooler - 8

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, I've stayed up really late watching Batman reruns on YouTube, but that's not the same at all!

Stargate SG1 on? Give me a 24 hour run.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

flowerjen - we don't either and I think DH knows what would happen. ( But honey, MOM would really like to have it.) I use my mom as an excuse for everything. lol .

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Jen ...
You mean there are other channels that broadcast during the day?
LOL!
I have HGTV on all day long ... well, unless it's a day I decide to have CNN running in the background.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

We only get one channel up in north Georgia and the big show on that channel features a local celeb who looks like he's wearing a backwards toupee. He has old Eddie Arnold tapes and other ancient country music stars, long dead! Grand Ol' Opry music and its contemporary admirers. The local chicken processing plant is the chief advertiser. Well, it's good for a few minutes of chuckles, and then back to public radio. I tank up on cable in Atlanta and bring movies for slow evenings.

Laurel

I would find 1 way or another to have TV. If it wasn't cable it would be a dish. If I could not have a dish I would have an antenna, so tall that you could see it in GA from NH.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

The one reason I love cable - BBC- America!

There are meny eventful "firsts" in a young child's life. First bath, first step, first night in a new bed.
Well my daughter informed us that Thursday was going to be Eliza's (granddaughter) first meal of solid food.
I can remember the day that Marilyn gave Cindy her first taste of cereal. It came out as fast as it went in.
We had two chances and neither of them worked. After that there was NO WAY we were going to get any of it in her.
Remembering this I thought of the task that stood before my daughter.
Well she sent me a couple of pictures of the experience.
I wanted to share with you.
The first is titled....
WHAT IS THIS????

Little Eliza is adorable!!! I just remember feeding twins. My spoon never stopped - from one to the other and back.

Laurel, are you right in Atlanta or anywhere near Jonesboro? That's where BIL lives on Lake Spivey. He also has some land up in north GA. so he can camp.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

What a beautiful little girl!!

Metrowest, MA(Zone 6a)

What a cutie Chuck!

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Momma got some great shots, there, Chuck. Eliza looks precious. Such a proud grandpa you are!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Haven’t checked in on this one in a while.
Chuck, she is a little doll.
Flowerjen, I thought I was the only one left on the planet that didn’t have cable. Zero reception here I only have an old TV for playing DVD’s.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Eliza rules!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The diapers get "interesting" after they start on solids!!!
Donna, there are some of us holdouts.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh Chuck, she looks like such a happy baby. Bet she has a great disposition.

Donna, what's a DVD? We only have a VCR at Maypop. We are taping over twenty year old tapes 'cause we can't find new ones. lol

Jan, Maypop is in N. GA closest to the two block town of Cleveland. Our Atlanta house is in Sandy Springs, inside the perimeter of the city's N.W. quadrant. Jonseboro is way south, by about an hour, but still considered part of the metro area.

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

Jen, thanks for interesting information.
I 'll take your word for it!
Chuck

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Laurel, The only reason I have a DVD player is because my DD when out and got it when she was stationed here about a year ago. I still had an ancient VCR that she remembered from before she went in the AF. At the time I think she had about 10 years in service.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Heck! We still have 8-tracks. No player ~ but we have 8-tracks! And ... we just got Dish TV this year, as we are out in the sticks, so to speak, and it was the best thing available. Of course, after getting Dish, DSIL had to go out and get a big-screen TV!!

Ah! Technology!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Yup, you get one thing and then you go out and buy ten more to go with it. I think I got rid of the 8 tracks when I moved but I didn’t part with my 45’s from the 60’s. I don’t have anything to play them on but I just couldn’t part with them.

I thought I was still asleep when I saw this. The 3 sticky posts disappeared.

I don't get it, Sherrie, but I'm not always smart that way. What disappeared?

Laughed my butt off! Had to share this.............

Subject: Wish I could think this quickl

A man boarded a plane with 6 kids.
After they got settled in their seats a woman sitting across the aisle from him leaned over to him and asked, 'Are all of those kids yours?'
He replied, 'No. I work for a Condom company. These are customer complaints.'

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!
That's a great one!

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Wow! Very good one!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Chuck - adorable little granddaughter!! Bet you have lots of fun when she visits!!

Pixie - that is so funny! Our Victor has a wit that quick, but not me!

Donna and Laurel - this house did not see a tv for almost 250 years. Before we retired, we just listened to the radio or read books. Now we have a tv via a satellite and internet via a second ugly satellite. I still read way more than watch tv, but I do like having access to the morning news. My DH watches old movies and sports too.

Metrowest, MA(Zone 6a)

Found this on Craigs list.. Pretty funny. Why didn't I think of that!! ;)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

That is so funny!

Now if they would weed for food.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

OK all you Jeresy girls.....got a cat in need of help!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/odd_big_cat_found

I am amazed at the size of this cat!!!!!!!!!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I'm surprised it could even walk around. It looks like "Jabba the cat"

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

The newscasters were hilarious.

That poor thing. How could someone lose a 44lb cat?! It's not like it would out-run them, or the neighbors don't all know where it lives!! Geez.

Allison, don't even think about adopting this, I can just see you running after it as it rolls down the hill. LOL

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I don't think they 'lost' it...I think they couldn't afford to feed it anymore!!

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Or it ate it's owners.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ha Ha Ha !! Good one!
