Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Donna-that's too funny!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I wish I could take credit for it but a friend of mine emailed it to me at work. I was laughing so much my boss wanted to read it. It was ok; she’s a baby boomer too. We found it funny because a few of them really hit home.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Everybody! I just cut my first oriental lily blossom of the season - "Satisfaction" It is sitting in a little glass beside me and filling my bedroom with wonderful perfume.

Did I tell you I LOVE oriental lilies (well, any flower with a fragrance . . .)

Too funny! DH just walked in a smelled the blossom - it just about knocked him over.

Oh . . . and to make matters "worse" I just got a catelogue for more lilies! . . . I wonder if I could plant lilies on the terrace . . . ^_^

Honestly, if anyone is in Springfield over the next three weeks, drop by and see my lilies

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

This morning was bonanza day for me.
I have had one lily here, one DL there for a couple of weeks.
Today I had the DL's (all FFO)
Cleo
Kaput
Cat Dancer
Shady Lady
and a pretty yellow spotted Lily (had a name when I planted it, but I don't remember)
I'll have to take some pictures when I get home.
As Liza Mennelli once said, "You really, really do like me!"

JoAnn, Now you can understand my wife's frustration when we walk out of a movie and I don't remember anything about it.
At least I remembered it was a woman.
Thanks for the correction.

No problem, I couldn't help thinking at the time how much insecurity she revealed at the time.

I understand the lily addiction all too well. I think we have purchased a good share over the past two years. We are patiently awaiting the opening of one of the white asiatics.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

But don't stay in Hotel California! You'll never leave!
Did I get them mixed up?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

My memory of my high school cafeteria was "I wanna hold your hand" blaring. LOL

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

You're right doe, you can enter anytime you like but you can never leave.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I remember :Knock Three Times On the Ceiling if You Want Me" in my grade school cafeteria - I would have preferred "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"! (I was already an oldies kid, that early.)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Was knee bending in my playpen to 'Sugar Shack' in 1961-62 Love oldies!!

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Louise, wasn't the cafeteria song Strawberry Shortcake Forever? What do I know? I'm having my "Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown" and it's all a "Purple Haze". I dunno...I'll "Try" (Just a Little Bit Harder). Maybe in the a.m. when DH makes his stand-the-spoon-up coffee and I complain, "Strange Brew"(and then he says, "Girl what's come over you". "Need Somebody to Love" so "Sweet Dreams" and...

"Bye Bye Baby",
Laurel

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL, Laurel! Pixie - Sugar Shack was high on my list too!!! I'll know I have dementia when I can no longer remember every single word of all of those "oldies". Hey.....if they're "oldies", then I guess we are too!! LOL

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

"HOLIDAY"
Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate

Chorus:

If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice

Everybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday

(chorus)

You can turn this world around
And bring back all of those happy days
Put your troubles down
It's time to celebrate
Let love shine
And we will find
A way to come together
And make things better
We need a holiday

(chorus)

Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate

(chorus)

Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate

Holiday, Celebration
Come together in every nation

(Zone 4a)

Hahaha I wish I could play along but my oldies are different than your oldies - ONLY cause I am a tad bit younger.....I wouldn't be able to play this game with you with songs that old LOL!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ummm Dawn.....I can understand if you don't know who 'The Temptations' or 'The Commondores' are but Madonna? She popped on the scene in the 80's.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I loved Sugar Shack, too! How about, "Lay down Sally!"

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

My girlfriend and I in junior high re-created Beatlemania. Hahahaha. 10 years too late. We loved it, though.

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

From Beatles to Queen - gotta love 'em. I own 'Horse with No Name' also, Celeste. How about Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Arlo Guthrie, Bread...
I've been singing Carole King's 'Tapestry' album for decades.

OMG - Did I just admit that?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, Nance, we should have talked sooner!

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Wanna start a duo?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Nope - a band!

Sundays roast is something good to eat, must be lamb today cuz beef was last week.

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Hey Grandpa! What's for supper?

Moody Blues 70's.

OK I just about fainted when I saw this picture. I am doing ebay and took a close up shot of a pin. My fingers are not dirty and the moon in my thumb nail is white. I am having a hard time reading the name of the pin with a jewelers loop. #&$^N *&#^

Ha! Yes Pixie I have heard of the Commodores and the Temptations - I don't know much about them though.....I know some of their songs I am sure......

Funny though cause when I think of Oldies I think of Michael Jackson, Poison, Guns n Roses, Van Halen, Cindy Lauper etc LOL!!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Pixie - I went down your list and am proud to say - as an Oldie Goldie myself! - that I know the words of every song you listed!! LOL

Poor Dawn....you should have been born when we were.....you would have really liked our "oldies"! LOL

(Zone 4a)

I do know a lot of the OLD Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers and stuff - my mom and dad used to listen to that stuff when I was a wee one! I am sure I must know every single one of their songs LOL
